Life is an individual race, but teamwork is needed to overcome obstacles and accomplish success. Teamwork is the combined action of a group of people, especially when effective and efficient. It is essential to put aside differences to achieve a common goal because it helps to break labels and forms new relationships. There is much in literature, film, and reality that reveals that unity and reaching a collective goal is a definite possibility. Freedoms Writers diary explores the concept of partnership as well the movie black panther, and the film; remember the Titans. The book Freedom Writers diary is about a dedicated teacher in a racially divided school who has a class of at-risk teenagers deemed incapable of learning. Additionally Black Panther; was about the divide between African Americans and Africans. …show more content…
Mbaku and his tribe did not like whites cause of their history of colonization, but he had no choice than to work with the white man, Ross, Queen Mother, and black panther’s sister, Shuri in order to save Wakanda from the hands of Killmonger the new king who overthrew and killed the old king. When one’s mind is set on a goal, they will swallow their pride and differences to accomplish it. Killmonger disliked Ulysses Claws but to be able to get to Wakanda and the kingdom he sucked it up and forgot his differences with his goal in mind. Moreover, great outcomes are achieved from setting aside difference; because in the beginning, Wakanda didn’t exist due to the fact that there was a bunch of little tribes settling in the same area which did not get along at all. Eventually, the tribes came together and created Wakanda. The little tribes still existed, but there were known as one and became the “protectors of vibranium” a key element. With vibranium they created advanced technology even more advanced than the technology existing today. Wakanda became very rich and had surplus

When handling a controversial subject, it is important to recognize the opinion of everyone, not just of oneself. If an author does not recognize, at least to some degree, the opinion of everyone in their audience, they risk losing the interest of readers whose opinions are different. African American writers must consider how it feels to be an African American to their audience; they must understand that there is no such thing as one identity for an entire race.
In the later 1800’s and early 1900’s there was still widespread prejudice against African Americans and white people feared what educated black people might do. W.E.B. Du Bois wanted the most intelligent African Americans to lead their people forward in pursuit of civil rights, acceptance, and social and political equality. This approach to gaining equality would not work during that time. Actions like Du Bois insisted upon would have caused uprisings and potential violence. However, Washington’s ideas appealed to both African Americans and white people.
...he years, the more times I experience this film I seem to always take something away from it. From a managers standpoint you begin to realize the difference between the “I” and the “we” component of a team. You rely on each team member having a substantial amount of effort and involvement with the overall goal of the mission. For when the times comes each specialized team member must come forward and contribute their part in the overall objective, then return to their role as part of the team. Also, managers must support and remain confident in the decisions made by their team members. Sometimes major decisions must be made under a restricted time frame, and as the manager you must trust the solutions prescribed by your staff. Finally, you must take into consideration “human limitations”. No human being is perfect, and mistakes are inevitable, especially under stress.
On October 29, 1929, the stock market crashed and the US went through one of its hardest times. This difficult time was known as the great depression and US citizens were facing unemployment, poverty, and hunger. The President during the beginning of this time period (1929-39) was Herbert Hoover (1929-33), his plan was a “hand’s off” policy in which the government wasn’t largely involved in the situation. Hoover raised taxes and had many failed attempts at helping (encouraging the opening of soup kitchens and big businesses to help) but overall, this only allowed the economy to fall even more and US citizens to go through a hard time period. In the 1932 election, Franklin D. Roosevelt (democrat) won by a landslide. When entering his presidency,
I am Using this because people are trying to make her drop out of the white school but she was determined to stick with it and do what is right for everyone. Joseph Berger’s, A Grave Wrong will also be talked about as we go. This is article is about how during world war two the Japanese Americans were forced to leave there home and live in isolation. The third and final piece of nonfiction literature will be my nonfiction book The Making of A Navy SEAL My Story of surviving The Toughest Challenge and Training in the world. I will be connecting how Brandon Webb used determination to get through some of the most difficult times of his life from arguing with his dad to completing the navy SEAL sniper training. Determination is shown in nonfiction literature when society is trying to make you stop what you are trying to achieve as well as creating obstacles you must overcome and fight
Collaboration is people agreeing to work together (Homan, 2011). As we go through the process of collaborating, conflicts will arise however, during these times of conflict which will usually be based on people’s perceptions and feelings, this writer would bring knowledgeable information to the table based on facts. We would not dismiss the conflict however, work through it; which would include allowing people the opportunity to vent. However through the collaboration we would create a shared vision. Through leadership and advocacy we become change agents that are building a web of support. Through advocacy we will be the glue that binds the community together through human rights
In a film, where 12 angry men are brought together to decide on whether the slum boy is guilty of killing his father. People face several challenges and overcome certain barriers when they become a part of formal group and start working towards a common objective.
Freedom Writers deliver the message of hope and teaches the audience that if hard work is put into a task then a purpose to life can change completely if the right decisions are made. This movie delivers that message in a wonderful way by using the ‘ghetto’ as an example to change ones destiny which is truly satisfying. This isn’t the best movie but it is a convincing drama where the emotional scenes often feel real than fake. Freedom Writers was a movie that totally blew the audiences mind away, it was an emotionally, heart touching movie that got people thinking about what happens and what others go through. LaGravenese did a very good job using passages from the actual student’s dairies to pursue the message of the film. This is truly an awesome, incredible, amazing movie that everyone should watch connect with it.
The 2007 movie Freedom Writers gives a voice of hope and peace in a fragile environment where hate and sorrow battle in the life of urban teenagers. This drama film narrates the true story of a new English teacher, Erin Growell, who is designated to work in an inner-city school full of students surround by poverty, violence and youth crime bands. During the beginning of the movie, the teacher struggles to survive her first days at this racially segregated school in which students prejudice her for being white and ignore her authority in the classroom. The teacher encounters the life of students who are hopeless for a better future and attached to a delinquency lifestyle of survival. In addition, she confronts a reality of lack of educational
...our differences, or view them as causes for separation and suspicion” but use them to unite us together to make a change.
It is very common that conflicts arise within teams and this likelihood increase in a diverse group. Different backgrounds, values, beliefs, race and age trigger differences in a diverse group, if these differences are not mediated on time or prevented the performance of the job and deadlines could be jeopardized. In this case, a diverse team is working on a project called the monitor project for a health care client. The team is composed of six team members who came from different backgrounds. With thirty days from the deadline, conflict has arisen between the last two members who joined the team, Darius a 32 year old man, now a U.S. citizen, who came to the United States from Iran ten years ago; and Harpreet a 30 year old woman who came to
A group of people working on a team means a group of different sets of minds working together. Thus, it is inevitable that there may arise conflicts on a certain topic within the team, as certain viewpoint may seem right for the circumstances for some teammates and may different for others. However, it is not that they are not solvable.

Thirteen years ago, we met for the first time. Along the way, some additions and some subtractions were made throughout; leaving us with the group you see before you. Throughout our high school journey, as a very dysfunctional family, many good and some not so good memories were made that shaped us into the people we are today. Most classes grow up together, uniting as a group; or a family. It would be a lie to say this also happened with our class, as we are all so different. Our class holds so much diversity, it makes sense why we don’t seem to mesh together smoothly. But that is what makes us unique. Like the pieces of a puzzle. Each piece in a puzzle is different. Not every piece fits together, but they all have their own place in the big picture. That is what symbolizes our class. A puzzle. We are all so unique, and diverse, but all together we all come to form the big picture.
