The Evil Doings of Lady Macbeth Decisions are always hard to make, but have to be made everyday. People tend to put pressure on others to force them to make the wrong decisions. In Macbeths case, Lady Macbeth is highly responsible for the evil doings of Macbeth, by forcing him to make the wrong choices, which puts his leadership at stake. She urges her husband to kill Duncan and become king, but is eventually driven to madness and suicide by her guilt over the bloodshed that follows. If it werent for Lady Macbeth, Macbeth never would have killed anyone. At first, Macbeth felt he had no reason to kill King Duncan, because of the witches prophecies which stated that in the future, he will become king. "If chance will have me king, why, chance may crown me without my stir." However, when Lady Macbeth found out about the prophecy that stated that Macbeth will become king, she immediately felt reason to murder him. "Is too full o' the milk of human kindness" shows that Lady Macbeth considers Macbeth to be a "wimp," and that shell have to do this all by herself. "Leave all the rest to me" clearly states that Lady Macbeth takes control over Macbeths thought which was not to kill Duncan, for he found no reason to. Lady Macbeth continues to convince and persuade Macbeth into her "plan" which is to kill King Duncan. Macbeth agrees to follow Lady Macbeths thoughts and kills King Duncan. He regrets his actions afterward, which is proof that he never was willing to kill him in the first place. Macbeth has become deeply involved with murder, and eventually kills several others. This is proof that Lady Macbeth has transformed Macbeth into being a greedy, coldhearted human being, by saying things such as "Are you a man?" She undermines his masculinity, to make him feel at fault, and have it her way. Eventually, Lady Macbeth is driven to Madness by the guilt she holds on her shoulders, and ends up committing suicide. If it werent for Lady Macbeth, Macbeth would have never killed anyone.
We start to see Lady Macbeth’s actions have a huge impact on Macbeth’s character as he transforms from a decent being to an overly bitter creature. The cause of his alteration is due to the fact that Lady Macbeth is constantly excreting heartless information into his mind. "Art thou afeard to be the same in thine own act and valour as thou art in desire?" (I;vii;39-41) "And, to be more than what you were, you would be so much more the man." (I;vii;50-51) Lady Macbeth uses these quotes to push her husband beyond limits and is therefore responsible for his dramatic change in attitude. She is constantly feeding his thoughts with negative comments and later on Macbeth realizes that he has another side to him. As he moves along to discover the concealed side of him, Macbeth falls in love with himself and begins to be drawn towards his evil desires. Because Lady Macbeth was the main cause of his new hidden discovery, she is fully responsible for opening up the door and letting the darkness in. This results in Macbeth committing both murders.
Everyone is influenced by other people, including leaders or authority, to make the wrong decisions at some point in their lives. In the play Macbeth, Lady Macbeth is responsible for the evil doings of Macbeth. Lady Macbeth is responsible for this by using his love for her to persuade him into killing King Duncan. Because Macbeth loved and trusted his wife, he was vulnerable to her opinions and suggestions. We also know that she is responsible for these heartless things because she has so much guilt that she commits suicide. Macbeth would never have done any of those horrible things if it were not for the murder of King Duncan, which was forced on by Lady Macbeth.
Over forty years has passed since the United States inducted the last draftee through the Selective Service System. The Selective Service System is an independent agency of the United States, which gives the President the right or power to conscript men for military service. There have been different Acts passed by congress since 1917 that require men of various ages to register for service. Although, the name of each Act and the age requirements of the registries changed, the Acts were all similar in nature. They all gave the President the right to call men to war when he deemed necessary. In January 1973, Secretary of Defense Melvin Laird announced the creation of the all-volunteer service, retracting the need for the draft (GAO.gov). Under current law, all men between the ages of 18-25 must register within 30 days of their 18th birthday, however this information is used mostly for recruitment purposes and in case of any future crisis. There has been much controversy over this matter since the Vietnam War, when people started to realize the draft was unfair due to loopholes and draft exemptions making the draft unfair for working men. At one point in time the military draft may have been necessary, but today’s all-volunteer military has eliminated the need for a draft.
Lady Macbeth is getting very confused that Macbeth is refusing to kill King Duncan and she cannot commit the crime her self because evidently King Duncan resembles too much like her father. She fells that Macbeth is not a man and she ridicules and tries to persuade him to kill King Duncan by saying that he is not a man and that the only way to become a man is to kill the king (regicide).
In ‘Gender in science fiction’ Helen Merrick explores the depictions of masculinity and femininity. She illustrates how SF is proficient in examining gender issues, noting texts that have assisted in going against standard sociocultural norms. This chapter is only a brief discussion of the pioneering work of feminist SF writers (particularly the emergence of female SF writers), however, Veronica Hollinger deliberates the topic further in ‘Feminist theory in science fiction’. In Merrick’s chapter her overall point is that the SF genre is a means for investigating gender and humanity and ridding the mind from the austerity of standard norms. What thi...
He eventually is manipulated into committing the crime by his wife, Lady Macbeth, who talks about his manhood and accuses him of lacking manliness. That Macbeth could be manipulated into committing murder by such accusations further establishes his weak character.
Lady Macbeth is the culprit of manipulating Macbeth which leads to disastrous events making her responsible for the evil that dwells in Macbeth. Lady Macbeth calls Macbeth’s masculinity into question to encourage him to kill King Duncan. King Duncan arrives at Inverness, and Lady Macbeth and Macbeth set a plan in motion to kill the King Duncan so Macbeth can obtain his position as king. Everyone is patiently waiting for a delicious feast inside the castle. As Macbeth enters gradually, he is reluctant and has second thoughts deciding whether or not to kill the king but then considers to kill King Duncan after Lady Macbeth encourages him. As Lady Macbeth enters, she tells Macbeth that the King wants to see him. After deciding whether to kill
In Lady Macbeth‚s eyes if Macbeth did not kill Duncan than he would not be a man to her anymore, she believes that he would be denying all urges for greater wealth and prosperity that man should have. She is wondering why he is not taking the opportunity to be king when he can easily do so, in reality, we know why Macbeth is contemplating the murder of Macbeth, because he has morals, qualities that we consider manly today.
