In the writing of Narrative of Fredrick Douglass, Fredrick Douglass is aware of the audience he was writing for so was about solidify the point he was trying to send across. It also gave him the opportunity to be both the narrator and the protagonist, this act of writing help give his audience a proper vision of the story he is telling. Douglass talked and explained a few topics that he wanted his audience to be aware of. An example was about education. “The white children could tell their ages. I could not tell why I ought to be deprived of the same privilege.
