Who do you think has been the best president of the United States so far? Many people will think of George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, or Thomas Jefferson. However, even the Father of our Nation and Honest Abe seem insignificant when compared to the man who has truly been the best president so far. Who is the great man that has been the best president? Between getting the country out of the Great Depression, serving the most terms of any presidents, and overcoming a cruel disease, Franklin Delano Roosevelt has been the best president we have had.
Herbert Hoover failed miserably at this. It was something that affected the whole world. After Herbert Hoover’s one term at office, along came Franklin Delano Roosevelt, a 51-year old man who would

Polio crippled Roosevelt. When he came to office, he hid his battles with polio as long as he could. The public eventually found out, but by the time they did, no disease could stop them adoring their president. Even with polio, FDR was able to walk with crutches, and he was a wonderful leader.
As I stated before, many people will pick a president besides FDR as the best. Typical choices may be George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Abraham Lincoln. But are these presidents as wonderful as they seem? Washington and Jefferson owned slaves (Patriot Papers). Lincoln ordered massacres of Indians (Listverse). Let’s not get started on James Buchanan or Warren G. Harding. All presidents have faults, but some of them are bigger than others.
In all, Franklin Delano Roosevelt has been the best president we have had so far. He was a wise, courageous leader, who did many great things. Other presidents pale when compared to FDR. This great man stopped the Great Depression, served the most terms of any president, and fought and overcame a deadly disease. In FDR’s own words, “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” Franklin Delano Roosevelt truly feared
Throughout the years, we have had a total of forty-five presidents. Those of all which have all had both numerous successes and failures. An interesting president to evaluate, however, is Gerald Ford. He was not in office for very long but left still managed to leave a clear impact on the United States.
President Franklin Roosevelt was one of the greatest presidents in the history of the United States. He created economic stability when the United States was suffering through the Great Depression. In his first three months of office, known as the Hundred Days, Roosevelt took immediate action to help the struggling nation.1 "In a period of massive unemployment, a collapsed stock market, thousands of banks closing for lack of liquidity, and agricultural prices fallen below the cost of production," Roosevelt passed a series of relief measures.2 These relief measures, known as the New Deal, provided help for individuals and businesses to prevent bankruptcy. Also, the New Deal is responsible for social security, welfare, and national parks. A further reason why Roosevelt is considered a great president is because he was a good role model for being determined in his...
In the early 1930’s, America was facing an enormous depression that seemed impossible to escape and never ending. When FDR was elected, he was able to save the country with his positive thoughts and brilliant ideas. Not only was he capable of almost bringing the nation completely out of the Great Depression and rebuilding the economy, but was also able to lead the United States through a complex war such as World War Two. If Roosevelt’s intelligence were not present, not only the United States, but the entire world could have ended up differently. Without a doubt, Franklin Delano Roosevelt was one of the greatest president to ever be elected.
Who was the greatest president of the United States? There have been many great presidents in the history of the U.S. Many presidents have led our country through very trying times. Some people believe Lincoln was the greatest president. However, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt led our country at times when a great leader was needed. Franklin D. Roosevelt was the greatest president of the United States because of his New Deal, his great leadership skills, and his strong and deep connection to the people of the United States.
President Roosevelt brought the executive branch of the government into power like never before. He is hated to this day by many people. But for the majority of the country during one of our toughest times, he was what we needed. Without consulting history acknowledging that, it’s impossible to judge what he did very negatively. The old ways weren’t working, and while President Hoover tried to do something, it wasn’t enough. President Roosevelt was more successful with the actions he took for relief during the Great Depression.
Without a doubt, there have been great presidents throughout American history. The subject of the matter is debatable about who has done the best job for the position. When you ask Americans who the greatest president ever to serve is, five names would be repetitive: Andrew Jackson, George Washington, Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln is more than likely always at the top of the list. He is commonly known as the best president of the United States and I can't help but agree. President Lincoln has had numerous achievements, such as ending slavery, modernizing the economy, and preserving the Union.
Franklin Delano Roosevelt is memorialized in the minds of Americans as one of the greatest presidents we’ve ever known. His programs ended the Great Depression, he brought Americans together after the attacks on Pearl Harbor and he led the country to victory against fascist Germany during WWII. He was a Democrat, arguably a socialist, and a man of the people. When he was first elected at the height of the Great Depression in 1933, he was faced with what seemed an impossible task of ending the Great Depression. The Great Depression was, at this point, not just an economic problem but a problem deeply embedded in the American psyche: we didn’t believe anyone could fix the problems.
Theodore Roosevelt was a remarkable leader. Because of what he did as a leader of America, many core idealisms of Americans exist today. He led the U.S navy around the world to show off its military might, and to reveal to other countries that the United States could amass a force anywhere they so chose to fight its enemies. Moreover, he believed that leaders are created and not born. He worked hard at everything he did. Additionally, he had such a strong resolve, that he actually trained himself to overcome asthma. In fact, would purposely make himself have asthma attacks in order to build a resistance to it. The man had such a strong will, that others around him would put their lives on the line for him, and this is how he was such an efficient leader. Consequently, he proved to those under him that he was willing to do what it took in order to succeed. He once said, “Courage is not having the strength to go on; it is going on when you don't
Theodore Roosevelt, was a revolutionary when it came to the political field. He made the nation new again after fifty years; he put pride in the American heart. Granted, he may have made a few arguable bad decisions, yet he breathed life into a country that was suffocating itself. Theodore Roosevelt was a great American President.
Who would you say is your favorite president? Maybe George Washington, Ronald Reagan, or even Barack Obama? One commonly underestimated president is Theodore Roosevelt. From the day he took office, Roosevelt transferred the role of the president forever. He was a man of the people, who believed presidents should serve the people not their parties. Throughout history there has been many honorable presidents that have concurred many strenuous situations. This happens to shape the minds of individuals into believing who was the greatest president. There are many factors one can take into consideration, such as how the economy did, wars, and the overall role in how their presidency went. The president that is most honorable in my mind is President Theodore Roosevelt. Theodore Roosevelt became president after the assassination of William McKinley and from that point was one of the greatest presidents of the US. Roosevelt was honorable before his presidency in 1901, and afterwards by taking action necessary for the public good.
Franklin D. Roosevelt an effective leader. Even though he was unable to convince the nation of a need to enter the war in Europe he was able to rally our nation together during one of our toughest times. The Great Depression in my opinion had to put our nation at the lowest morale level we have ever seen. Even after being attacked in Pearl Harbor and more recently New York City, this didn’t bring us down morally, it brought us all together. FDR’s charisma, leadership qualities, and confidence aligned perfectly with who we needed as a President during our nation’s toughest part of the 20th century.
Roosevelt was extremely driven, having clear and powerful goals for both himself as well as the nation as a whole. Franklin Roosevelt, though born into a family of money, was no stranger to hardship. In August 1921, FDR contracted polio leaving his legs paralyzed. Even through the bleakness, FDR maintained a hopeful and fiercely independent mindset (Franklin Delano 2). Roosevelt did not crumble in the face of adversity. He plugged forward through challenges in order to pursue his
Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR) was the 32nd president of the United States of America. During his presidency Franklin D. Roosevelt changed U.S. history by coming up with the New Deals and his involvement in World War II (WWII). The New Deals were some of the main things that helped most Americans get out of bankruptcy during the Great Depression. Then with his involvement in WWII he led the U.S. troops into war. Some of the acts he did at that time still have an impact on U.S. history today.
