Who is the Real Monster in “Frankenstein”? “Frankenstein” is a play adapted by Philip Pullman from the novel by Mary Shelley. “Frankenstein” is a play in which a scientist named Victor Frankenstein creates a monster that he thinks would be better than humans, but his creation turns out to be hideous. Frankenstein abandons his creation and the Monster runs unsupervised around the country. The answer to the question - who is the real Monster? is not as obvious as it seems. While it is evident that the monster murdered many, it was Frankenstein who created him. Frankenstein is very intelligent; this is evident when Clerval exclaims, “This is the greatest discovery of the age! A wonderful piece of work!” (Acts 1.19). Another good characteristic that Frankenstein has is its inventiveness. This is an obvious characteristic because Frankenstein had the bizarre idea of stitching various parts of people's bodies together to create something like a human. Even though Frankenstein did have bad characteristics, he also had good ones. In the end, it was Frankenstein who was a bad person, not the Monster he created, and Frankenstein should take full responsibility for the Monster's actions for he was the one who created it and the Monster didn’t mean harm. In the end, Frankenstein had a few good qualities, but he mostly had bad qualities. The Monster was a creature created by Frankenstein and he was hideous. He had waxy, yellow skin, and lips as black as charcoal. He had red-rimmed eyes and scars crisscrossed his ugly face.
