The world is made up of a plethora of things, but what really makes up the world that we stand on today? There are four things that I believe have shaped the world to what it is today, and continue to play a huge role in our world. The first component is fear. Fear is a component found everywhere in the world and plays an important role in today’s world. People worldwide fear something, whether it be the dark, or bees, even the outside. Everyone has a fear and in a way it controls them. People who fear death try to immortalize themselves by making their name known forever by committing acts of genocide such as Hitler, or by robbing banks such as Bonnie and Clyde. Everyone in this day and age has a belief, even if they believe that there is nothing to believe in. All around the world people pray to figures of a higher power or supernatural essence. Belief is one of the main components because everyone has it no matter what you think, you believe in something even if it is nothing. It also takes many forms that switch from person to person. This belief plays an important role in the world, allowing people to feel safe and secure while also playing a role in history being the cause of wars, conquests, but also peace. Even today, belief plays a role in an individual’s actions and helps guide them in life. The third component is curiosity. The world is the way it is today because people were curious about how things worked and why they worked. This strive for knowledge led to the understanding of many concepts and the creation of important inventions that have continued to influence history to this day.
