Education is a great foundation for success. Learning something new every day with the correct determination is what has lead thousands of people go down in history. Over the years, I have pushed myself every day in order to reach for success and achieve greatness in my life. Because of this, I believe that the Hudson County Schools of Technology are a group of schools that will help use my determination and push me to accomplish the most that I can. As a student, I am hardworking, ready for new tasks, and eager to learn more every single day. Overall, I believe that I will be an excellent asset to your school and will add diversity and knowledge to your campus. Knowledge is a factor that many people around the world do not appreciate as much as they should. Personally, I am a student that pushes myself to excel and learn as much as I possibly can. If I am accepted to your school, knowledge will be one of the many things that I will bring. Education has been a very important device to me all my life, and I value everything that I learn. If accepted, I will be able to bring the knowledge that I have from my past schools, along with the potential knowledge that I have to gain in HCST. With the help of this school, I will be able to be introduced to new groups of people that will guide me to finding out who I truly am, …show more content…
All my life, I have been surrounded by students who I have known my whole life. If accepted, I will be able to meet an entire set of new faces and make new relations with all of them. Meeting new teachers and students will help me improve myself educationally and socially. Bringing the diversity that I hold and mixing it with new students and teachers will create a school with endless possibility. Overall I believe that allowing me into your school will benefit many, and help create an even bigger variety of students and
There are several reasons why I would like to attend the Woodbridge Academy. Academically, a spectacular learning environment makes a superb school. Some examples of a great learning environment are class sizes being smaller, there is amazing collaboration between the students and faculty, and the school counselors will always be determined and will lead the student in the right direction. Another reason, why I would like to join the academy is what the academy provides. The Woodbridge Academy is a school that provides Allied Health and Biomedical Sciences which is perfect because my future dream is to become a pediatrician and Woodbridge Academy can prepare me for career. Additionally, Woodbridge Academy has high standards for teaching which
High Schools That Work (HSTW), a school improvement initiative of the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB), has documented achievement gains by career and technical education (CTE) students at participating sites (Bottoms and Presson 2000). At HSTW sites participating in 1996 and 1998 assessments (Frome 2001), CTE students showed math and science achievement equal to the national average of all high school students—and exceeded the national average of CTE students in math, science, and reading.
To start, I believe that I should be accepted because I love helping out in my school, but I would love to help out even more. I’d be very happy if I got in because to me that would give me
I can cooperate well and listen to other students, and my interest in science means that I will be easily compelled in our various tasks. I will work very hard in all areas of the Academy to be the best member of the community that I can be, and I will be very helpful and attentive to all my fellow students and teachers. I hope that you will consider making me an addition to the Biomedical Academy, and I promise that I will do everything in my power to make the Academy proud if I become a part of
I will be very helpful; my mom was in NJHS so I would like to follow in her footsteps. I will meet all the criteria, I will demonstrate high levels of behavior, I will follow the rules, I will help in school activities, I will be a great leader, and most of all, I will try my very hardest at contributing all that I can.
“It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves” (William Shakespeare). The fate of one’s life is determined by the actions and decisions they make over time. Success is not predetermined from the moment an individual is born. The choices in life can determine if an individual will rise to the top or fall to the bottom. “Outliers” by Malcolm Gladwell is an non-fiction story that reveals how much time and effort is required to achieve mastery at anything. David Epstein explains that success depends on the fortunate genetics in a person in the non-fiction excerpt “The Sports Gene.” The text from the “Outliers” supplies credible sources and evidence to support the idea that hard work and preparation results in success while the sports
In conclusion, I believe that I can offer a wealth of expertise and experience in contributing towards the continued development of a cohesive, dynamic and collaborative school that focuses on offering outstanding world class learning opportunities for all. I consider myself to be a good role model to students and staff alike and I am committed to leading by example. This, combined with my drive, infectious optimism and commitment to playing a full role within the school beyond those duties set out, make me a strong candidate for the post.
Success can mean many different things to different people. Some believe that success is when one is famous and very wealthy. Others think that it is when a person has achieved their life goals. According to critically acclaimed and best-selling author Malcolm Gladwell, though, the argument is not what success is; it is how it is achieved. Gladwell is the author of the novel Outliers, which describes his many theories and ideas of how people have and can become successful. Gladwell wrote his book for all to read because he wanted to disprove the popular belief that people become successful all by themselves; that is, without help from others or outside factors. Gladwell’s effective use of stories of the lives of famous and successful people in Outliers, coupled with his prolific use of logical appeals, or facts and statistics, enables him to easily explain his opinions while convincing his audience that success is attributed to many different factors in one’s life.
Angela Lee Duckworth claimed grit to be the key to success. During an interview, she defined grit as “the disposition to pursue very long-term goals with passion and perseverance.” (qtd in Raz). Duckworth also mentioned that she wanted “to emphasize the stamina quality of grit. Grit is sticking with things over the long term and then working very hard at it.” (qtd in Raz). “For the last 11 years, Angela Lee Duckworth of the University of Pennsylvania has been conducting groundbreaking studies on grit -- the quality that enables individuals to work hard and stick to their long-term passions and goals.” (Perkins-Gough). Grit may be seen in several of characteristics throughout others. Although we may have different characteristics, my brother and I both comprehend grit to be the key to success.
“Don't quit. Never give up trying to build the world you can see, even if others can't see it. Listen to your drum and your drum only. It's the one that makes the sweetest sound.” said Simon Sinek. In life people only want to see what you can’t do. Basically everyone wants to see you fail, but if you’re a strong person you prove to them that you can make anything possible. I learned from my mistake that your own family isn’t your real support. I chose the wrong path when I started college, I chose the wrong people and I chose the wrong state of mind to start school. This brought my life to failure, were no one believed in me. Motivation, being successful, and not giving up are ways that identifies my personal
To give my personal philosophy of success I would first have to define “success”. Success is the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. My success philosophy that I plan on implementing from now on is accepting personal responsibility for the good and bad choices I make. There will be time when I need to focus on school and worry less about my free time. If I have a test to take I have to study for that test to get a good grade and continuous good grades will help me pass the course. I can’t depend on anyone else to do my work for me I’m personally responsible for completing my assignments and turning them in on time. When the weekend comes around and all I do is procrastinate by telling myself I’ll study later. The smart thing to do about this situation would be to think wise and use my time-management strategies. I’ll always have time for myself, so sacrificing some free time now is well worth it. This helps me to be a creator and not the victim about things and keeping up with the self-management strategy. The success strategies that I will use will help my learning style, self-management and self-responsibility. Most people believe success is just having lots of money, cars, and women but I believe success is an individual sport and I have to be ready to play because the outcome of my performance is based on the work I put into it.
There are several qualities to have to be successful in college. These qualities can range from attending class to going above and beyond what’s expected. Success comes from the journey taken or the path chosen. Success also comes from being prepared. As a student, I must step up to the challenge and find the path to success along the way. Several ways I define success is to uphold academic integrity, have the ability to prioritize, and to motivate myself to stay on top of what needs to be accomplished.
