Shakespeare is a poet, playwright and actor. Macbeth is one of his most famous plays out of way thirty-eight plays. Macbeth is based a true story. There was an actual king named Macbeth in Scotland. The story is takes place in Scotland and England, sometime in the middle of the eleventh century. Macbeth is a dark play. Shakespeare cleverly exposes the weaknesses of humanity. Three of the weakness that Shakespeare deals with in the play are dishonesty, lust for power, and betrayal. Shakespeare also treats the themes of fate, destiny and fortune. Maybe he wonders who or what controls his fate? So witches went to visit Banquet and Macbeth , trying to find out about his fortune. The witches told him, he will become the king. "The first witch said All hail, Macbeth! Hail to you, thane of Glaims. The second witch said All hail, Macbeth! Hail to you, thane of Cawdor! The third witch said All hail, Macbeth! that shalt be king hereafter."(Act 1,scene1,L49-51) Macbeth believes their prophecy. What does Macbeth do with witches prophecy? After Duncan got killed by Macbeth. Duncan's two sons ran away from Scotland to Ireland and England. Duncan's two sons flee because they fear for their lives, either by Macbeth or by those who suspect them of committing the murder of their own father.
