Forrest Gump is a movie that goes over a man's life and how he exceeded many challenges with luck and perseverance and who just happens to find himself in nearly every major event of the second half of the 20th century. The movie starts off with him sitting on a bus bench. A lady walks by and sits near him and he begins telling his life story. Dan losing his legs he becomes enraged at Forrest because he believes it is his destiny to die in honor on the battlefield. The movies then moves on to hip going to Washington D.C. to earn his medal of honor for his bravery of rescuing two of platoon members. At this time the hippie movement was going on and everyone in it was anti-war. Amongst this group was Jenny. Jenny gets abused by her current boyfriend and Forrest comes in to save the day, later resulting in Jenny telling Forrest about all her travels and Forrest giving her his medal of honor. Forrest proceeds to pick up the sport ping pong while still enlisted in the army. As it so happens to turn out he’s amazing at the sport and he lands in the All-American Ping Pong team.
