Looking at jobs in Atlanta, Georgia, there are several job openings. There are jobs working with different companies as a forensic psychiatrist. If the job market for this job was low and I could not find a job, I would probably move out of Georgia for my career, however I would not go far because I would want to stay as close to home as possible. However, there should not be a problem find this job because people are always going to need a doctor so there should always have a job available (Appelbaum, 1992). Many companies look for a Forensic Psychiatrist because they are useful to have on hand, however certain places like a law office and stuff like that are definitely what oneself are going to see forensic psychiatrists working at (Forensic …show more content…
Psychiatrist: Job Description, 2013). It I were to start my own company, I would try to market myself to law enforcement offices, lawyer, and hospitals. This would be to draw them in and show them why this job is necessary, but also they do not have to work with me every day unless they wanted too (Forensic Psychiatrist: Job Description, 2013). I feel like this would go pretty far across the state, but I do not think my services would ever leave the state because there would be someone else who is doing what I was doing. This career helps benefit both the community and society by make easier for them to cope with things, or understand things, but also simply because they help make things safer. They work with law enforcement and do things that benefit the people that are around them (Forensic Psychiatrist: Job Description, 2013). There is going to be people who do not see why a Forensic Psychiatrist is necessary, the simple answer for that is because they solve difficult problems to help people deal with difficult issues. However, they also make sure that the people that law enforcement catch or about to release back into the public are stable enough to go back into society. There are going to be people who will question whether or not this job is going to be here in 5 years. It has an estimated growth of 18 percent in the next few years. Something else that might be said, what if after thirteen years of going to school and become certified to do this job oneself cannot find one or oneself lose oneself job, the answer to this problem is quite very simple. Oneself have several options, for starts, oneself could choose to move out of state to another location that has a job available. Oneself could also start oneself own business. Something else that oneself could think about doing is take that Psychiatry degree and become a normal psychiatrist. For those who still want to work in the field of forensic, oneself have a degree in forensic, oneself can use that and do something in forensics. The possibilities are endless. At the end of the day, people are always going to need a doctor, and oneself have a doctorate so oneself use it. Other people might say well oneself are to get bored, oneself are not going to enjoy oneself job. However, the life of a Forensic Psychiatrist is never going to boring, not two days are going to exactly alike. People might say why would oneself want to do that, that job is very dangerous, oneself are going to get oneself killed. While that could be true, any job could be considered dangerous. Even the jobs that seem least likely to be dangerous, oneself could still get hurt or killed. That is because people are unpredictable, remarkably by being a forensic psychiatrist, oneself would be helping to make other jobs safer. Someone might ask is a forensic psychiatrist really that important, the answer to that would be yes. This is because the work on cases and do remarkably much on the legal side of things that normal psychiatrist may not understand, or be able to help out on. Anything to with psychology, the whole point if is to help people (Forensic Psychiatrist: Job Description, 2013).
Psychologist and psychiatrist both work their hardest to work with people and help them work through their problems (Forensic Psychiatrist: Job Description, 2013). Forensic psychologist and psychiatrist are no different they just do their job in a different matter (Forensic Psychiatrist: Job Description, 2013). They evaluate things differently than most normal psychiatrist. They look at things through a medical aspect and a legal aspect (Forensic Psychiatrist: Job Description, 2013). Forensic psychiatrist help people understand things that are beyond the obvious or the norm that most people see things in (Forensic Psychiatrist: Job Description, 2013). They have to see things in a unique perspective because of their job. They make sure that if they are working with a family and someone in that family has a mental illness, they make sure they understand exactly what they need to be prepared for (Pinizzotto, 2010).. Also all that they should expect for their loved one. Something that they do, is they do everything they can to make it the easiest on the family (Pinizzotto,
2010). Something else a forensic psychiatrist does is work with the legal system. They do anything from evaluating some, to going to court, to testifying against someone. They work hard to ensure that others are safe (Pinizzotto, 2010). They keep people that are a serious threat away from the rest of society. They also make things easier on law enforcement because of their close teamwork with them. They can help them profile a suspect (Bursztajn, 2015). They can help interrogate a suspect. They can be someone that they can talk to if they are going through something in their life. They are there if there for all people’s benefit (Bursztajn, 2015). Forensic psychiatrist helps law enforcement. They analyze things that people do, such as studying criminal behaviors (Pinizzotto, 2010). A lot of forensic psychiatrist work on crimes dealing with psychopaths or sexual driven crimes. When working on these cases, they try to figure out the answer to why. They see the facts and work out possible theories for what happens and why it happens and how it all ties together (Pinizzotto, 2010). They educate us on how the criminally insane work. Not only that, but they have a huge impact on keeping us safe. They take the crazy people that are a threat to society and put them away from people somewhere they can get help at, or where they will never hurt someone again (Pinizzotto, 2010). Even in the safest places, there are still dangers, it is simple fact. There is always going to be someone who has an unclear motive (Bursztajn, 2015). Who seems off in some way, shape, or form. That is something that a forensic psychiatrist looks for. They look for inconsistencies in the story. They look for truth in a lie, they look for fact in fiction. They unscramble what has been destroyed. They work hard to do what is necessary to protect people by searching for the truth. They look for a piece of a puzzle and do whatever it takes to put that puzzle together so they can better understand people. They may not always get the job done, but they do not give up without a fight. They do not back down from a challenge (Bursztajn, 2015). They collect all of the evidence until they can understand what is going on and make sure that law enforcement also understands. They provide back ground to things that to normal people just don’t make sense (Bursztajn, 2015). Forensic Psychiatry is an important job because it makes sure that people in need are helped, it informs people of things that they may not understand, and it works with the law. Forensics psychiatry is such a necessity for society because it helps protect the people from people that could harm them. They work with the law to make sure that people can live their everyday lives without the constant worry about being in danger. Without worrying if this or that is going to happen. It is remarkably much more than an everyday job where it is the something each in every day. No two days are alike, no two cases are alike. Just like how no two people are alike. Forensic psychiatrist is able to recognize the fact that each and every person is different and will have different reactions to things. They realize that a technique that works on one person will not work on others. These psychiatrists break down barriers that would normally be put up and unable to be dealt with by other people. They make sense of things that people just can’t understand. They put facts into a new way to understand things. They rationalize the irrational. This career path is such an amazing and important one because no two days are exactly the say. There is never going to be a dull moment, but it still has impact on individuals’ life each and every day. Nothing about this job is insignificant. Which is why it will be the best path for my future. There will never be a time where I am bored or when I am not doing something. I will be helping people, which is something I dream about, it is something that motivates me and keeps me going. So over all this career path is an amazing one to go down and is something that is in my near future.
