In the film, ‘footy legends’ sport unites people together to allow the underdog characters to win and succeed in life to provide for their family’s. Luc is a superb example for this because Luc players football to keep his family(grandpa and sister) together which includes all his teammates from the underdog team. Luc’s underdog team consists of old friends and people who didn’t make it in life but through playing a sport they provided for their family’s by stabilizing their financial situation of not having a lot of money, this applies to the protagonist Luc. Luc needs money to prove to ‘child protection services’ that he can look after his little sister so he’s able to keep her, Luc also needs the money for his grandpa so he can stay in his home. Shane was one of few in their group who actually had a job, and the reason is that of his pickup truck. Shane’s job was hard because he had a small and weak truck compared to the big garbage trucks and because of this he struggled to move around and get work done. With a heavy load. In one scene Shane was loading his truck you could see he had a bad truck and that it was filled up with one object but with the new truck they one at the Holden cup Shane is a lie to move more than ever before in a more efficient way. Boof was the alcoholic and a drug addict in the group who made poor life choices with drugs but eventually stopped after he got a wife and a rebellious son. Boof really cares about his family and that love and this is shown in a scene when Boof disciplines his son by threatening him that he will kick him in the balls if he smokes again, in other words, Boof wants his son to not make the wrong choices that he made in his youth but instead wants his son to live a long and happy life and
