Our country is full of tv’s with that saying over half of our population have some sort of tv or device that they can watch or participate in some sort of football activities. There is roughly three or more tv’s in each home in the United States. The percent of tv’s in homes now have went up 49% since 1990. Over 200 million people watch some type of sport and that is usually football. With that saying people have to have some way to watch some type of television and with that they are usually watching a certain type of sport and that's why I think that football is the most watched in the United States.
“Good players inspire themselves, but great plays inspire others.” Evan Carmichael
This quote was said from 1990 by a bunch of people and no one really has the authorship for this quote. It was first saw by the players cause they posted it up in a professional football teams trainer room. This quote was said because they want the players to be the better ones and not something that people think they are. There are so many other quotes about football and there are so many commercials on tv about it to so that is another reason why I think that football is the best sport to watch of all sports. This quote has been popular for a long time and i think some players do take this quote to there heart and try to

I have been raised with my father watching some type of football meaning college or professional. I can sit and watch some sports but football is different because there are so many different things going on and there are so many people doing cool or unique tackles or hits that get your attention and you just can't look away cause it's so cool. On the other hand my father is constantly watching it like it's an addiction to him. I would be lying if i said he watched other sports but really he doesn't watch any others besides football and espn, but on an occasion he will watch
Football is the most popular sport in the world. It is backed by a long history that's incomparable to other popular sports in the world like basketball, volleyball, and tennis. In fact, two of North America?s favourite sports in American football and rugby were created based on the game we call 'soccer'. So why is it that the original game of football is not as nearly as famous as in North American than any other countries outside our continent? A real good reason for this is because soccer doesn't have a great tradition in North America, unlike other sports such as American football, hockey, or basketball. Also, the cultural difference makes soccer less rampant in North America because many of us can?t seem to be patient enough to watch a sport with no frequent excitement. This mostly involves a preferred team scoring numerous times during a match. There are also plenty of other exciting sports that North Americans love to watch and play. Thus, soccer is put in the middle of the backseat of a crammed van, a place where nobody wants to be in or even pay attention to.
Sports play such a huge role in our society; many people form their lives around watching or playing a certain sport. In my house, when football season starts, my dad and brother watch football religiously every Sunday and Monday. On Sundays some of my dad’s friends come over to watch the game, my mom prepares snacks and lunch for “the guys”. When the game is on they are so interested in it, that they have no idea what is going on around them, I try to talk to my dad when the game is on and he always seems to ignore me. I love how they get so into the game, and cheer really loud and yell at the television. For them like many other people, they have found football to be a hobby, something to do in there past time. They have formed habits around watching the game.
What event brings a crowd to a mega sized event that roars louder than a concert? How this phenomena became one of the most popular sports that involves numerous amount of physicality? To answer both questions only requires two words.
American Football is a huge spectator sport where offensive and defensive players will use teamwork and perseverance to try and score more points than their opponent. Football is highly respected in America, where boys will try and pursue the dream of playing in the NFL (National Football Association) someday; but if you look at an average neighborhood, you will find that kids and adults of all ages love to go out and throw around the pigskin. (Lerner and Lerner 275). One thing Americans will take pride in is the college and NFL football teams they root for. People sit down with a beer and talk hours upon hours of football and two individuals can get in a heated discussion in the local sports store of whose sports team is better. Surprisingly enough, one will find the most passionate football players at the high school level. Most boys will start their football career as a young child in football programs such as Pop Warner to get a foothold and to get those involved in teamwork and friendships. These programs are usually the start to someone falling in love with the sport and making it a career choice eight years later. Football is one of America’s favorite sports. When fall season comes around, people across America are placing bets, finding out where that new sports bar is, and buying wide screen T.V’s to watch NFL on Sundays. After their team plays, they will go out and reminisce what happened that Sunday. While thousands of fans are still pumped from the NFL games they watched; small towns across America are getting ready to shut down their shops and restaurants to have the chance to make it to the local high schools football game. Ray Glier, a reporter for the New York Times, writes about football in the small town of Appala...
...f a team and a legend”). He also became highly known for giving inspirational advice to players and helping the players not only on the field, in addition to off the field. One of his famous quotes. “The spirit, the will to win and the will to excel… These are the qualities that are so much more important than any of the events themselves” (Mckerley, 15).
In America, football is no longer a sport but is engraved into our culture. According to SoftSchools.com, a website containing informative information on multiple subjects, The National Football League was established in 1920, quickly becoming the most watched sports league in the U.S. (“Football”). The league is composed of thirty-two teams, competing each year with the intent to play in the Super Bowl for a chance to win the Vince Lombardi Trophy (“Football”). The Super Bowl is the most watched television program in the U.S., averaging 113 million viewers each year (“Football”). With so many people watching this sport the annual revenue of the NFL is approximately nine billion dollars (“Football”). In contrast, baseball is considered to be the American sport, however, the annual revenue is only 7.2 billion dollars (“Football”). Football has now passed many sports in popularity in the United States being the favorite of thirty-five percent of all Americans (“Football”). The sport is appealing to many because the physical aspect to the game is exhilarating and keeps the fans entertained. However, the physical nature of the sport may cause the popularity but also can make the game dangerous.
Before birth football seemed like it would be a factor in my life. My uncles and cousins were key players of their high school football teams. Even though they were a factor I developed a love for the game myself. The drive from my family made me want to go harder.
In the United States, Football is one sport that most men love watching, may it be on television or live stadium (Chandler, 1988). For example, men are willing and able to sit down at home in front of the television for more than six hours just watching the football games and wouldn’t sit down doing any other thing for more than 15 minutes. The questions needed to be asked in the back of our minds are; by the men watching football games, what are the gains met and what the satisfactions are they get after watching them after hours, weeks and even months. What attracts them to devote most of their spare time to watching the football games? One obvious answer to this is the entertainment within the games as the men get something to entertain them apart from what they do in their boring daily routines. Taking another directional argument; rather than the amusement football games offer to the men, they offer some thi...
What is the most popular sport in America? The most popular sport in America would be the rugged game of football. Millions of fans wait in anticipation each year for the season to begin. The truth is the game is a very dangerous sport. It’s rooted with violence and physical aggression. Players are groomed from their youth to get bigger, faster, and stronger. Football is geared toward physical domination, get your opponent before he gets you with tackling, hitting, or by any means necessary, take them out before they take you out. Bones are broken, internal organs rupture, concussions are frequent and occasionally players die. Is the game worth the price? Is a human life worth less than monetary gain or entertainment? The answer
It may not seem like it because football is most popular in North America but soccer is the most popular sport in the world. My perspective is that if there were more soccer stadiums, more federations, and more soccer associations in the United States it might be more popular than football is in North America.
Football has been a very important part of American culture especially in the last 50 years. Football is now the most followed by sport in America. There are many different levels that football is played. For example, there is professional, semi-pro, college, high school and pop warner. Fans from all over are passionate at each level of football. Professional and college football are by far the most popular and contains the biggest fan base. It can easily be argued that high school football has some of the most passionate fans.

American Football is not merely a sport, its a culture. In the south football is in some ways a lifestyle. From the rivalries to the championships its truly one of the most exciting sports to have ever been created. This is why I love it so much, it is much more than just a game it has a much deeper meaning to it. From the outside looking in, many people do not fully realize the impact it has on each and every player throughout its history. Football has made me who I am today.
Soccer, basketball, baseball, football. Whichever sport you name, my dad is spectacular at. He is extremely athletic. When he was younger, he played a lot of different sports. Now he teaches me how to play them too. For example, every year at school we would have to play soccer, football, and softball with our class, and my dad would always help me practice. We would go to the park for hours and just practice. I would always have a blast! Since I have him, I am a lot more interested in sports.
