The access of the store is designed to be enjoyable, outside the store there is a great sitting with a big glass window giving the whole view to the whole of Wisconsin Avenue. During the cold season a fire place is lit to provide the warm ambiance. In conjunction to the seating during the warmer season an open air balcony seating is available for access. The perfect ambiance creates a welcoming environment and privileges that make it interesting to the costumers. Its location makes it readily accessible by customers on foot or by vehicles. Safeway supermarket is surrounded by a park, a supermarket, a pharmacy, and a holiday inn. Fair price grocery Fair price market is an international grocery. It mainly deals with grocery products that serve many customers internationally. The grocery is well organized so that customers can shop faster and efficiently. Items are separated using departments. The departments store different items which include bakery goods, dairy goods, meat, paper and pet supplies. Kinds of fruits that are sold include orange, apples, cherry and black current. Items in the grocery are separated in aisles using specified categories like coffee and cereals, spices and oils and canned foods. Bag-in-box method is used to package fruits. This method helps in maintain freshness of the juice. Seals made on the cans prevent entry of oxygen gas that can make the cans to collapse. The bags can also be easily recycled. The grocery sells foods for all the people, young and old. Items are strategically placed so that people can access them quickly. Social stratification as defined by Brinkerhoff et al. is “an institutionalized pattern of inequality in which social statuses are ranked on the basis of their access to scarce resources” (Brinkerhoff et al. 152). By scarce resources, many people have to deal with poverty and having a lack of money to buy the things they need in their lives. Social class is defined as “a category of people who share roughly the same class, status, and power and who have a sense of identification with each other” (Brinkerhoff et al. 155). Your social class has to do with your socioeconomic status along with the power and connections you have. Social mobility on the other hand is “the process of changing one’s social class” (Brinkerhoff et al. 153).
Social stratification is putting individuals into certain rankings within a society. One process of social stratification is socioeconomic status, which is a measurement of a persons standing based on education, work experience, and income. Socioeconomic status is something that separates individuals and can cause severe isolation between the distinct groups. The functionalist perspective focuses on how problems come from society and whether they serve a function for society. Changes in society, such as war or even an economic change, can affect the rate of suicide for a society (Risholm 2014).

No longer just a place to buy food, the supermarket has become a place to cash a check, buy a birthday card, or pick up some tulip bulbs. These new extras are all centered on the idea of convenience. We all hope to find a few extra moments in our days, so supermarkets offer us a way to save time. I'll be the first to admit that buying three things at the same store is nicer than driving across town. Saving time can definitely be a good thing.
