In Modern day America where fast food is significantly cheaper to buy than healthy organic food, some people just don’t know how this food is being manufactured and this being said meant that people were buying unhealthy over processed fast food because they couldn’t even afford buying the good stuff.
“Food, Inc” which is whom produced by Robert Kenner alongside by Elise Pearlstein is a documentary about where our food comes from before people eat it and how they were taking care of these animals. The documentary was also to make people think twice where they buy their food. It was filmed in the United States of America where they went around four different animal slaughter farms to investigate and show you how well

The upsetting part about is that they weren’t willing to change the way they run the system. It also made me think how something so debateable be so powerful to the industry of food. I think it was surprising because people didn’t know what the real truth about food and where it was coming from and how it was being prepared before it was going to be consumed. I also think that it was believable because it was showing real footage of the animals and interviews of people about the situation and proved that these were real people. When they showed the actual footage of animals in small cages and pens which I found confronting was not very much enjoyable. Because I felt sympathetic, sad for the animals because they weren’t being treated the way that we understand as fair. I would recommend this to people who want to see the truth behind their food. I think that it is an important documentary to watch because it makes you realise the horrible truth behind food. Because this system was so powerful no one could really turn to these people and face up to them and say we really want you to stop doing what you’re doing and make this as best as it could be. Which could simply be just by allowing for livestock to graze on organic
Food Inc. is a documentary displaying the United States food industry in a negative light by revealing the inhumane, eye opening, worst case scenario processes of commercial farming for large corporate food manufacturing companies. Food Inc. discusses, at length, the changes that society and the audience at home can make to their grocery shopping habits to enable a more sustainable future for all involved.
Documentary films have become very popular in the last few years, with the success of Michael Moore’s films fueling interest in learning while being entertained. Two filmmakers have benefited from this new interest in the non-fiction film movement, including directors Morgan Spurlock and Lee Fulkerson. The two filmmakers both made documentaries regarding healthy eating, or the lack thereof, in North America. Spurlock’s film, Super Size Me, was about a healthy man who wanted to see what would happen to his body if he ate nothing but items from McDonalds for an entire month. On the other hand, Fulkerson’s Forks Over Knives is about a man on a quest to improve his health by consuming a plant and whole food based diet.
is a great documentary that uses pathos, ethos, and logos, it is very easy while watching this film to agree with the all of the points made and opinions formed. However, this is a very biased documentary that does not necessarily tell the entire story behind these company’s business plans or ideas. Major companies such as Tyson, Perdue, and McDonalds all declined to interview for this film. By doing this, the viewer automatically forms a negative opinion and assumes that Food Inc. is correct in its claims. Also, this film uses an overwhelming use of pathos. As stated previously, the death of Barbara Kowalcyk’s son Kevin was life changing and tragic. However, the film abused the element of pathos by showing the home video of Kevin happily playing with family and some of his last moments before his death. This is a very one-sided documentary that does a great job of persuading the viewer to change or strengthen its opinion on the food
In the documentary, Food Inc., we get an inside look at the secrets and horrors of the food industry. The director, Robert Kenner, argues that most Americans have no idea where their food comes from or what happens to it before they put it in their bodies. To him, this is a major issue and a great danger to society as a whole. One of the conclusions of this documentary is that we should not blindly trust the food companies, and we should ultimately be more concerned with what we are eating and feeding to our children. Through his investigations, he hopes to lift the veil from the hidden world of food.

The growth of fast food has changed the face of farming and ranching, slaughterhouses and meatpacking, nutrition and health, and even food tastes gradually as time elapsed.
‘Fast Food Nation’ by Eric Schlosser traces the history of fast food industry from old hot dog stands to the billion dollar franchise companies established as America spread its influence of quick, easy and greasy cuisine around the globe. It is a brilliant piece of investigative journalism that looks deep into the industries that have profited from the American agriculture business, while engaging in labor practices that are often shameful.
One subject that came up in this documentary was that of Broiler Chicken houses. Food.Inc made it seem as if these houses were cruel, and were bad for the chickens. The one chicken house owner they did interview, made it seem as if this job were terrible and that the regulations that they had were causing harm to the chickens. When they videoed them taking the chickens away to get processed, they made it seem as if they were abusing the chickens.

This is exactly what Hungry for Change does. One of the key points made in the documentary is that humans no longer eat a natural diet like their ancestors did; when humans first began to inhabit the Earth they lived off a diet of fresh fruits, vegetables, grains, and meats. During these periods famine and disease was rampant, so humans adapted to store nutrition more productively. Now that humans live in a more developed society, they have a (practically) unlimited supply of food. However, much of this food is processed and manipulated to have a better flavour and a longer shelf life, and though this sounds like a positive situation, it has become a huge problem. I knew McDonalds was more harmful to than other fast food places, but I never knew about the lawsuit between McDonalds and it consumers. In the documentary, “Food, Inc.”, states that the food industries are controlling everyone’s food and must make changes to make it safe for all. There should be changes in the food industries and everyone must act to change it. Farmers do not earn enough nevertheless, has a big debt for the company who control their animals. To the big companies, the farmers are slaves. Farmers are forced to mistreat animals and put them in dark places, which there is not much space to move around.
This is a critique of" Roger And Me", a documentary by Michael Moore. This is a film about a city that at one time had a great economy. The working class people lived the American dream. The majority of people in this town worked at the large GM factory. The factory is what gave these people security in their middle working class home life. Life in the city of Flint was good until Roger Smith the CEO of GM decided to close the factory. This destroyed the city. Violent crime became the highest in the nation, businesses went bankrupt, people were evicted from their rented homes. There were no jobs and no opportunity. Life was so bad that Money magazine named Flint the worst place to live in the entire nation. When news of the factory closing first broke, Michael Moore a native of flint decided to search for Roger Smith and bring him to Flint.
This book is a life changing book. It was inspirational, informative and gave you insight about the things we do not know about the food we eat. The documentary was graphic and detailed, informing you of the process from the farm or the fields, to the manufactures, to the labeling and packaging companies. It informed me, about the school lunches, how some of the meals at school are made, to the politics behind it. This book is also a collectible.
