Food And Vandalized His Store: A Case Study

The owner of local produce and flower market is asking for the communities help to indentify the person who broke in, stole food and vandalized his store.

Security footage captured it all. A woman breaking into Turks Produce and flower Market in Horseheads and helping herself to some cheese and pepperoni and taking a bag of groceries to go. "I couldn't believe a grown adult woman would do something like that," explains Store Clerk Jolieanne Halstead.

It happened around 12:34 Thursday morning and security footage shows the woman wondered throughout the store for roughly 30 minutes.
Store owner, Thom Ostrander explains security footage shows the woman did more than just steal. He says the woman came into the greenhouse, knocked over at

least 20 mums and smashed a few pumpkins. He believes the damage cost the store more than $500 dollars in profits.

"I didn't know what to think...just why? I mean if someone was hungry or something, I could see taking something like food but to come right out and just start destroying property like that, there's just no excuse for it. None," says Halstead.

The suspect is described as having reddish brown hair, a heavy build and is around 5 feet to 5 feet 3 inches tall. Anyone with information regarding the indcident is asked to contact horseheads police at [phone].
