Eat more fat. Could this be correct? We have been told for years not to eat fat. Everywhere you look you see fat-free, low fat or non-fat food products. Fat is very essential for us to live, i.e. providing adequate body metabolism and functioning at the cellular level. So you may ask, what are the fish oil benefits?
Did you know our brain consists of about sixty- percent fat? There are beneficial fats and bad fats. The required essential fatty acids cannot be made by the body. They are essential for maintaining brain function, maintaining a robust immune system, and for maximum heart capacity. Good fats are essential to achieve proper brain maturation at one year of age through achieving optimal cognition as we grow older. What are the fish oil benefits? What we want to achieve is a balance of essential fatty acids. There are Omega-6 and Omega-3 fatty acids. Our ancestors had a diet, which consisted of a ratio of Omega-6 to Omega-3 at 1:1. Today, our U.S. diet ratio is more like a ratio of 30:1. Omega 6 oils are seen in animal fats, warm weather vegetable oils, and processed foods. Omega-3 fatty acids or the "good" fatty acids are found in cold water fish, flaxseed, almonds, and pumpkin. The good fatty acids are in the form of DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid).
Some individuals have an inherent defect in converting their EPA's into DHA. These people must take DHA directly. Otherwise they will not get the benefit of essential fatty acids.

The purpose of this report is to explore the controversial dispute between the quality of two different forms of fish oil supplementation; Triglyceride (TG) and Ethyl Ester (EE). Fish oil can be implemented into a diet by eating either fish or taking supplements. Fish oil is extracted from selected fish that contain highly beneficial healthy oils known as omega-3 fatty acids, two of the most important omega-3 fatty acids that are found in fish oil are Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA) and Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA). Some of these fish that contain healthy omega-3 fatty acids include Tuna, Salmon, Mackerel, Herring, Anchovy’s etc. Fish oil supplementation also often contains small amounts of vitamin E to prevent spoilage and is can be combined with various other minerals and vitamins. There is an array of benefits that are involved when implementing fish oil into a diet; although it’s most common association is that it has been linked to slightly lowering blood pressure or triglyceride levels (fats linked to cholesterol). Although fish oil is recommended for persons with high blood pressure, it’s extremely important to remember that it is only to be taken at recommended dosages as it can ironically increase the chances of stroke when overdosing on the supplement. The death rates of poor dieters were much higher than those of good dieters. It is evident that by eating the proper foods and exercising regularly patients experiencing both of these diseases can improve their health conditions. These diseases can happen to people of different ages and races, but following the right treatment, nutrition, and lifestyle can result in a healthy body at any age even with these life altering conditions.

Salmon farming plays an important role in the economies of many areas as well. Jobs and other economic benefits contribute to the value of salmon as much its role in good nutrition. Salmon is an oily fish rich in omega-3 fatty acids, a substance that almost certainly helps protect against heart disease and may also reduce the risk of cancer and Alzheimer's.

Alzheimer’s disease is one of the most prevalent diseases in America and in the world at this point in time and the number of cases is only increasing. Symptoms of Alzheimer’s might include a decline in mental capacity, confusion, and forgetting how to do simple tasks. The disease in not limited to the older generation but is far more prevalent. There is no existing cure for Alzheimer’s and only a few medications that can mildly treat the disease but they vary from patient to patient and are not very affective. Many people are now trying to focus on preventing the disease in its early stages. Some ways in which people do this is by pairing a healthy diet with both cognitive and physical exercises.
