Though the thesis is a mere one to two sentences, candidates will learn quickly it is the major focus of all points being discussed in a written essay; each paragraph should reiterate what the thesis states. After the students are fully educated on the thesis statement, they will write their first narrative essay using all lessons learned thus far from The First Year Writing Program. After the professor grades each applicants first narrative essay, they will all get a chance to have one-on-one time with the professor in order to get expert feedback. This will guarantee the student learns their mistakes and can fix them before they turn in their second narrative essay.
English 1101 will have a total of six essays: Three of which will be narrative essays, and the other three being descriptive essays.
