Final Description Essay
The lone star state is exactly what the name portrays: independence. Texas is one of the biggest states in the country which means there's more people to meet and places to explore. Texas is known for its light blue skies and soft brown plains that are sprinkled with small prickly vegetation like: mammillaria, prickly pear, and saguaro cacti. The hundred degree weather and still air is completely opposite to what you would experience in any other state. Shortly after you enter the grand state you see the lone star statue that reads - Welcome to Texas - in shiny silver letters. The house is pastel orange with an accent of soft brown. The house is sprinkled with bright colorful flowers and lined with trees ranging from small to medium to big. The street on which the house is in resembles every other street in the neighborhood; long, gray and filled with cars from people who live there to their relatives who have come to visit from Mexico. Although the city remains peaceful most of the time there are also gloomy days on which the families within the pastel houses argue and claw at each other's throats like rabid dogs with no leash. The curtains behind their otherwise smiling faces are drawn back and their true intentions are revealed. Criminals can be easily identified with their smirking lips curled up to under their eyes like the grinch from the film “How The Grinch Stole Christmas” and their eyes which whisper harmful things without ever opening their invisible mouth. The marigolds and roses are trampled by the feet of thy neighbor. The windows are smashed and the curtains are torn. The air holds its breath watching the intruder intently. No one seems to be home at the time except for the quiet static of the tv in the living room. When the family returns they stand in awe to see their dearest possessions have been taken. Little do they know the intruder was their neighbor who they've known since he was a young boy. A few houses down there is a family gathered in the small kitchen of their home. An innocent get together quickly became a fight for life or death. The soft music hums in the air as the family shares a meal with their loved ones. The low rumble of the car is unheard and nearing ever so slowly towards the house; guns cocked and ready to blow. The first three shots come with so much force everything goes in slow motion.
