Film Review of Gladiator Gladiator was set near the end of the twentieth century when the Roman Empire was at its peak. Maximus played a character who was the general of a large Roman army. 'Gladiator' starts with an introduction to the film where the audience see him brushing his hand slowly and calmly across and field of wheat. This does give the audience a sense of what he assumes is peaceful and tranquil. The screen does tell us a bit about Maximus and his personality which is that he has a soft side. The colours that are used are coinciding with the mood of Maximus. The director uses warm colours such as a rich yellow in the wheat which gives the feeling of ease and relaxation. This colour has other purposes as it shows the warmth and happiness. This scene has everything that would be desired by Maximus as he is the one thinking of it while in the situation he is in now. Music is a feature that is also used to add to the atmosphere of this scene and it is synchronistic to the theme of the scene. It is calm and smooth without any sudden changes in tone. The notes played are blended in together to make sure that it best suited for this type of setting. Abruptly this changes to an area where it looks cold. The trees in the background look lifeless and this gives impression of the time of year. But the main feature point of this is Maximuses face cold expressionless and still. He had his eyes closed and this tells the audience that what we had just seen was his imagination in a day dream state. The colours that are used are dark colours such as grey and black in the surroundings with the exception of white which is shown ... ... middle of paper ... ...and my family on you.' Sure enough Commodus takes this to surprise and is forced to keep him alive as the people of Rome favour him and if he did kill him then this would make him terribly unpopular among Rome. Maximus succeeds in taking his revenge upon Commenus but with a complication. Die with honour or live with pride. Throughout this film I had regarded my saying as to be quiet appropriate to Maximuses situation. Before Maximus is expected to fight Commenus he is confronted by Commenus and then stabbed with a dagger laced with poison to hinder his performance and try and make defeat inevitable. Though Maximus is injured physically he continues to fight with his heart. When fighting Commenus Maximus found it very difficult because of his recent injury but despite this wins the match with the cost of his life.
The story of Gladiator takes place in Ancient Rome and contains intense action, great acting, and fantastic storytelling. Although most of this action drama is mostly fictitious, some certain events and characters appear in the history books.
Schindler's List, by Steven Spielberg is an award-winning masterpiece - a movie which portrays the shocking and nightmarish holocaust in a three-hour long epic. The documentary touch re-creates a dark, frightening period during World War II, when Jews in Nazi-occupied Krakow were first deprived off , of their businesses and homes, then placed in ghettos and were then forced to labor for no consideration in camps in Plaszow, and finally they were resettled in concentration camps for execution. The violence and brutality of Nazi’s treatment towards Jews is a series of horrific incidents that are brilliantly showcased.

The movie is set within a short space of time (almost real time) in which we see Four of the Six active members of a jewelry heist gone wrong dealing with the repercussions of their crimes. Amongst them is Mr. Orange, or, Undercover Cop Freddy Newendyke, as he’s revealed to be toward the end of the movie. He is the Undercover Cop, The Rat that everyone is talking about. Orange single handedly destroys their operation and essentially Joe Cabot’s criminals-for-hire business seeing as he died by gunshot in the end. However the operation costed Orange his life, or presumably so. That’s something I’ll get to later.
Mel Gibson has reached an acting pinnacle, at least so far, with Braveheart. It is an epic

Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction is one of the most daring, puzzling, and ultimately exciting pieces of cinema to hit the screen in years. As wholly original as it is a copy of hundreds of films before it about tales of hit-men and criminals, it dares you to step out of the dull and enter a colorful, exhilarating world that could only be Los Angeles. The intensity level of the movie is off the scale. People are laughing like crazy in the theater to the intelligent dialog and other scenes that have the audience gasping for air in shock over what just happened. Although one might say that Pulp Fiction is overly violent and disturbing, it is in fact, one of the greatest movies ever produced. Quentin Tarantino’s incredible screenplay, the intensity of the actors, and music to set the mood, created movie worthy five stars.
The conspirators, Brutus and Cassius being the most important, assassinate Julius Caesar and Marcus Antonius, better known as Antony, and Octavius Caesar, Caesar's heir to the throne, revenge Caesar's death. Antony convinces the Roman populous to destroy the conspirators and eventually begins a war with Cassius and Brutus' armies. Both Cassius and Brutus commit suicide to save their honor, and Antony and Octavius win the war. The characterizations of Brutus and Cassius show a distinct contrast in their character traits and motives for the assassination of Julius Caesar. The play Julius Caesar depicts Brutus to be an extremely noble being who is well respected and honored by all Romans, even his enemies.

One of the best horror series recent is the Saw Franchise. 'Saw III' is 2006's superlative horror film and the best in the Saw trilogy.
Why would anyone want to kill a friend that has saved their life once? Brutus doesn’t abuse his power over Rome. Brutus believes he is different from Caesar and believes that he won’t abuse power. Brutus has the belief that all that needs done is for the better of Rome and its people. “Crown him? that;/ And then I grant we will he may do danger with”(II.i). Brutus believes if the people of Rome give Caesar power he will abuse it but not Brutus. The people of Rome won’t believe Brutus because they think he is jealous and that if he had power Brutus would abuse power
The expectancy theory proposes an individual will behave or act in a certain way because they are motivated to select a specific behavior over other behaviors due to what they expect the result of that selected behavior will be. In essence, the motivation of the behavior selection is determined by how much one desires the outcome to be. This is shown when Maximus is initially recognized as a supreme gladiator by his owner Proximo, the man who taught him how to fight as a gladiator. Proximo took great interest in Maximus’ abilities and encourages him to go to the Roman Coliseum to fight for his freedom. Proximo advises him that if he is able to “win the crowd”, he will earn their respect and eventually his freedom. Performance to Outcome poses the question on whether success will lead to reward. The reward in this case would be after successfully winning battles, and the crowds’ favor, Maximus would gain his freedom and seize his opportunity to kill Commodus. Maximus’ strong desire of vengeance for the murder of his family drives him to win every battle he comes up against. Infuriated by Maximus’ success, Commodus sets up a fixed fight between Maximus and Tigris of Gaul, the undefeated gladiator. Maximus prevails in the battle and against Commodus’ orders, spares Tigris’ life. Maximus’ defiance of the emperor and mercy to Tigris made him more popular to the crowd than even Commodus

Revenge is also apparent when Antony organizes an army to defeat the conspirators and brings them to justice. Since revenge is a central theme, Antony uses much effort into organizing the army which will defeat Brutus. He must not only act in front of Brutus so that Brutus will let him make his oration at Caesar's funeral, but he also has to use much effort into composing his oration. When discussing which one of the conspirators should die, Antony suggests that his own brother Publius should also die,
