The value of keeping family members together as one is a struggle. There are many families today that are still doing traditional events to celebrate one another's accomplishments. In the movie Soul Food, it tells the story of a big African-American family from Chicago. Although each family member displayed love for one another, trust was broken when a family member slept around with another family member's spouse. Soul Food displayed how black families stay in constant communication over large family dinners. During slavery black folks did not have a whole lot to celebrate, but they loved one another with warm hearts. Since many wanted to show love, cooking became a way to express love for one another. On the other hand, many families today only come together for holidays, funerals and weddings. The importance of this is to show love towards one another and for one another. The matriarch of the family today agree that today's family is missing the meaning of coming together on one accord to sit and enjoy quality family time. Although the issues of infidelity, death and family bonding still exist families today resolve these issues in a different manner. Moving forward, the movie Soul Food set the scene for many families by showing you can forgive and still show love to family members who has done you wrong. Sunday dinners were something to look forward to, knowing family would be there to share stories. The purpose of the tradition is for family to come together with true love and understanding in their hearts and minds. In conclusion, family values are very important. Unconditional love was expressed in the movie Soul Food. Although one's feelings may be hurt you should forgive so you can move forward. Soul Food was an epic movie and many families appreciated this movie for the definition of family it displayed.

They are brought up in the violent and poor area in Thailand and turn to selling narcotics for a drug dealer to make money.
