With the idea of looking for a good movie nowadays, one can only truly love what they perceive looks good in their eyes, with these reasons, however, everyone can have their opinions altered by many choices. The bee movie is one of many animated films created for the sole purpose of comedy. Although it has its ups and downs throughout the movie, the movie generally stays on the correct path that is pure hilariousness. There are many reasons to love this film and many reasons to not. With this in mind, the bee movie may not sound all that great, but we have not even talked about this great comedic adventure with amazing production and music quality for its time as well as the many different cameos throughout the movie so read very carefully. …show more content…
Throughout the movie you follow the lead character named Barry B. Benson as he discovers his true purpose. The main focus of the movie, however, is based off of one motto and that is to “Follow your Dreams”. Barry learns this when he discovers that after graduating from bee school, he must work at the job he chooses for the rest of his life until he dies. Barry does not want to do just any job, he wants to be a jock which are the bees that get to go outside the hive. When some of the jocks offer to take Barry outside the hive, he goes with no regrets thus starting the beginning of this amazing adventure that he goes on. While outside of the hive, Barry eventually has to take shelter due to the rain and this makes him land on a flower bed which is on Vanessa’s apartment. Given all of these ideas I talked about, it is now up to you to decide whether or not the bee movie is for you so go give it a try! If it was my opinion I would say you should definitely go for it and watch this movie given the many points made during this essay. Although there are some parts of this movie that people think of as not the best, I can assure you that overall the movie is a very good movie. Everyone has a secret life that they keep hidden from the rest of the world. Lies are told on a daily basis in order to keep these lives stashed in the dark. In The Secret Life of Bees, by Sue Monk Kidd, the bees are the ones that have the most secret life of all. They each have their own specific role to play deep within the hive. It's obvious that the author had meant for some of her characters to portray the roles that these buzzing insects have to dutifully fulfill every duty. Lily and Zach are the field bees, August is a nurse bee, and the Lady of Chains is the Queen bee.

The story takes places in Sylvan, South Carolina 1964 when this state was crawling with racists. Lily had a negro caregiver, Rosaleen, that she loved dearly. Given the racist tones in Sylvan, this caused Rosaleen to be discriminated. Already resenting living with T.Ray because of her abuse, and the desire to find out what happened to her dead mom, Lily runs off on an adventure with Rosaleen in a quest to find find these answers. Throughout their adventure Lily and Rosaleen face many challenges together which compromises their friendship.

Finally, the novel The Secret life of Bees demonstrates the emotional maturity, and growth of the both Lily and Zach, during times of systematic racism. The novel authentically represents Civil Rights Movement’s time, and makes us realize how spiritually sad and dangerous these times were.
The Secret Life of Bees shows the importance of storytelling. Lily loves to read and she realizes the importance of storytelling as a way to escape tough situations. Early in the novel, Lily remembers two memories relating to reading. One time, T.Ray makes fun of her for reading saying she’s a nerd and another time where a teacher praises her for reading. She recognizes that books are a great way of relieving stress and are good ways to learn about what to do in difficult times. Lily wishes to become a writer. August always tells Lily stories to help her learn to love and trust. Through books and stories, Lily sees the possibilities for her own life.
I chose to view the movie Lion, a movie based on the book A Long Way Home by Saroo Brierley. This movie is about a five-year-old boy, Saroo, living in a poor, rural area in India. Saroo convinces his older brother Guddu, to let him tag along and find work in a nearby city. Saroo ends up trapped and alone in a decommissioned passenger train that takes him to Calcutta, over 1,000 miles away from his home.
Think for a moment of a world without bees; a world without our buzzing friend. They might look like they barely do much to help our ecosystem.
