Sound Of Silence
When I was still the 8th grades in high school in Hong Kong. I watched a movie call watchman. When the first time I saw the poster I thought it will be the original superhero movie. Thought it will be just superheroes biting bad guys. But turns out very different. The story started during the Vietnam war. In that time, the superheroes have the choice to choose if the want to go to the battlefield. Some of the superheroes choose to go and some of them choose to stay in the United States. After the war ended the superheroes came back. Because of the cruelty that happened in the Vietnam War, many heroes 's mental got corrupted. That makes them abuse their power or reputation to do illegal thing such as getting drugs, use

When I heard it the first time, the melody of the music feels so beautiful but the lyrics are so sad and it give me a feel of your live withered like a tree. Don 't know why I love that song so much so I did some research on it. And find out that the theme song is called "sound of silence ". It 's written and song by Simon & Garfunkel in the early 1960s. even though the song is not so popular at that time. but it really describes how were people 's feeling in that time. The early 1960s in United states it 's a very hard time to the country and the people who live in there. The negative effects of Vietnam war still remain the discriminations of black and the assassination of president John f. Kennedy. We can see in that time the American 's dream is falling apart and it become farther and farther. The song "sound of silence" really show how people at that time live in the society, how they feel like and what kind of society problems they are facing and how the song can use the describe the society …show more content…
When we are at high school or when we finally have to work. After working for a while in the society you will know that people are not easy to trust others. It’s like you always have a bad feeling of the person at first, but after time by time you will start to trust this guy. But why we will first assume people we met the first time is a threat ? and become friends is already the luckiest thing that can happened between you and a person u just met. Cause what if you guys just met and you guys already need to work to gather for a big project that is extremely important to both of your company? Yeah it is easy to gain trust from other people or let people gain your trust in a natural environment, but when pressure throws in it could be very different, it will have the hole atmosphere and of cause people will have different perspective on the same thing.
My conclusion about the song “sound of silence” is this talking about how people live in a world that communicating with others. People taking with out speaking, people hearing with out listening. People speaking lies to each other they are pretending to hear other’s comman but they are never going to care and that’s why when people expressing their feeling, their thoughts it won’t change. In the song the writer said it is just a vision it is just a dream but it that becoming more realistic in our
I chose to do my paper on the movie Sweet Nothing in My Ear. The movie was about a child who was born hearing and ended up going deaf, so his parents had to deliberate on whether or not they wanted to get him a cochlear implant. The wife Laura (played by Marlee Matlin) is deaf and her husband Dan is hearing. The movie is centered around Laura and Dan’s struggle to decide if a cochlear implant is what’s best for their son Adam. It doesn’t help Laura make the decision when her parents are both deaf, and her father is basically prejudiced against the hearing culture.
Silence — the sound of quiet, the state of mind, the lack of meaning — all these pertain to its definition. Communication is expanding, noise is increasing, music is becoming more obtainable as people search desperately for a moment of peace or a breeze of silence. As the scarcity of physical silence increases, its value as a rare commodity increases as well. The idiom “Silence is golden” may perhaps only grow closer to reality as time passes, as exemplified by the white noise machines or silent fans entering the market and fictionalized in Kevin Brockmeier’s short story, “The Year of Silence.” In light of this, Brockmeier explores the value of silence and noise in his story without putting one above the other. Through strange clues and hidden
This song reminisces about the loss of Private Rodger Young and reminds soldiers to push forward through the loss. Since death was something typically seen on the battle field Losser took this sad moment and turned it in to a rally together moment to get the job done. Loesser reflects the idea that America is tired of the war and are ready to keep progressing in life. While this song may not have been the most popular of the time period, Life magazine at the time felt like it was vital to print the music in the worlds for all to
...distractions. Taking time to observe and analyze the silence can bring something to the surface that could never be confronted in any other way. We need to embrace silence presented throughout life, for we will come out with more definitive, powerful voices.
The film, Out in the Night documents a 2006 case in which a group of young African American lesbians were accused of gang assault and attempted murder. The film portrays how unconscious bias, institutional discrimination and racism contributed to the convictions of seven African American lesbian women. Three of the women pleaded guilty to avoid going to trial, but four did not. Renata Hill, Patreese Johnson, Venice Brown, and Terrain Dandridge maintained their innocence and each were charged with several years in prison. I cried through out the documentary because it dawned on me that it’s not safe for women, especially gay women of color. The four-minute incident occurred in Greenwich Village where Dwayne Buckle sexually and physically harassed
Sex, love, depression, guilt, trust, all are topics presented in this remarkably well written and performed drama. Released September 29, 1950, Sunset Boulevard is a film noir of a forgotten silent film star, Norma Desmond, that dreams of a comeback and an unsuccessful screenwriter, Joe Gillis, working together. Ultimately an uncomfortable relationship evolves between Norma and Joe that Joe does not want a part of. In essence, this song carries various sociological concepts. It concentrates on the main idea about the social construction of reality and talking about how reality is changing. The song questions the actions and mentally of individuals violating the norms and values of society. The band takes into consideration various factors of why it is happening including the media and religion. As a result they talk about such influences taking control building and developing a sense of self. This is a great song about present day problems and how society changes with them.
The melody is very happy and makes the audience feel good inside and makes them forget about all the problems that Burr and Hamilton have. It shows a soft side to these powerful founding fathers. The mood of the song is light and airy making the audience believe that nothing bad can happen because these men are talking to their innocent newborn children. The songs atmosphere gives hope and aspirations to the audience for what is to come. It also is a tear jerker because it shows how sensitive these two men are and reminds the audience that they are normal people, who go through normal
This movie’s genre is difficult to analyze because there is so much going on in it. The movies main genres are action and thriller. Action films often evolve fights, chase scenes, explosions and a lot of physical drama. There are three main scenes in this film that meet this requirement: The first takes place during Watson’s stag (bachelor) party, where Holmes fights with an assassin. The second happens on a speeding train, where Holmes and Watson face off against Moriarty’s henchmen. The final action scene is when Holmes and Watson are fleeing the tank factory and being chased by German soldiers and under fire from heavy artillery.

Everyone dreams of being a hero however the path is narrow. The mantle of responsibility is important aspects and the presence of the heroic traits must be shown in some form. However, there will always be outliers and deemed delusional who attempt to be heroes. In Watchmen, Moore creates an omnipotent hero who lacks humanity in the portrayal of the Dr. Manhattan as a psychopathic anti-hero.
In the novel Watchmen by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, interprets the achievement of order and law through the use of power and violence by superheroes. This novel consists a total of seven different characters to demonstrate how superheroes obtain peace in society through the use of violence. The writer portrays the plot in different characters’ perspectives by guiding readers in their point of view. This motivation also assists readers to examine the loneliness and the feeling of isolation during Dr. Jonathan Osterman, Walter Joseph Kovacs and Laurie Juspeczky’s life experiences.
When watching this I caught on to the meaning of the storyline, and how yeah everything may be all happy and nice because everyone got what they wanted in the end, but that only fixed their problems, not the world, not the reality of what was really happening behind all the glitz and glam that was occurring in their own world. Throughout the song the scene shows American soldiers getting shipped off to war and everyone is so happy and proud that America is in the war and going to win, it then changes to the soldiers marching in the rain trying to stay strong and hold on for dear life as they get battled down. Eventually those who have made it out through the war alive, they become veterans with medals that don’t do much justice to recognize the sacrifice they have made and then turn into forgotten men of the war. I found connections with the economy and war which showed how the president failed his country even with bringing in ideas such as The New Deal that clearly did not work out according to plan. Poverty was a common thing during the depression, and reflecting back to the girls in the scene where they are in their conjoined beds due to lack of furniture and stealing milk from neighbors and soldiers
