Neo throughout the entire film has always been searching for answers, even through the end asking, “is he really the one”? The Matrix is centered on a program that is sort of a dream world, basically like a real life Sim’s. Neo, before he is introduced to the Matrix is always having nightmares, or so he thinks. Although he doesn’t know it, this is Neo’s first introduction to the Matrix. He believes that the integration was a nightmare. Trinity, who is introduced later in the film, removes the bug that the agents put inside of him. Neo truly did not realize that there was a bug in his stomach, and believed it was a nightmare. Neo throughout the film not only changes physically, by learning all forms of fighting techniques, but he also changes …show more content…
We don’t know what Neo is searching for yet, but we are offered some clue when the phone rings, and a man tells him what to do. The person on the end of the line offers him some truth, and tells him to follow the white rabbit, which ends up being a tattoo on one of his customer’s girlfriend’s shoulder. The group ends up going to a club, and he meets a girl named Trinity. When Trinity first talks to Neo she leans in really close to his face and whispers, from this scene we can clearly see some sort of sexual interaction going on, that might lead up somewhere in the end of the film. The night passes by and we are brought to a scene that Neo is being yelled at for coming to work late, it clearly seemed like Neo has been through this a few times, and really doesn’t respect authority. When Neo goes back to his desk, his phone rings, and Morpheus tells Neo to run and get out while he can. Neo does not know it yet, but agents from outside the matrix are there to take him in. After being told to climb the lift on the side of the building, Neo turns himself in, and is brought into an integration room. At this point, from the way he responds to the agents we clearly see he has a probably with authority, and this is the first time we truly see the Matrix. When Neo asked for his phone call, and since he wasn’t cooperating the agents blended …show more content…
Neo is faced with a problem on the roof when the agents pull a gun on him. Neo starts believing in himself more, and he starts to dodge the bullets. After saving Morpheus from the agents, and Trinity from the helicopter, they look for a way out of the matrix. When they go to leave the matrix Trinity and Morpheus teleport out, and accidently leave Neo alone with an agent. This is when Neo truly starts to believe in himself, and can fight the Agent. Neo ends up defeating the Agent, and runs to a new phone to teleport out with. Towards the end of the chase Neo is corned by three agents and chooses to stop running, and fight. After he is cornered, Neo is shot multiple times by the agents, and almost dies. When Trinity sees Neo start to fade she kisses him and when he wakes up and can see binary. This is when Neo fully believes in himself and unlocks his true potential; when the agents see Neo get up they unload their magazines at him, but to no avail. Neo is now too powerful to stop and can fully block their bullets, and kills the main
Anyone can teach others from leading by example. Showing others what you can accomplish establishes confidence in others to try out their own dreams, wishes, and goals. A great example of leading by example is Gus, Clark, and Richie in the movie The Benchwarmers. These men meet Nelson, a stereotypical nerd that is bullied by baseball jocks every day just because he wants to play with them. This little boy inspires the men to show others that everyone should have the same opportunity to play baseball, no matter the skill level.
These men, known as agents, hold Neo down and insert a metal like device into his stomach. He soon awakes at his house and is told by Morpheus that he is “the one.” When he meets with Trinity and Morpheus, Trinity removes the metal device from his stomach which shocks him because he didn’t believe that to be real. Morpheus soon offers to reveal the Matrix to Neo. He is given the option of a red pill or blue pill; the blue in which he will go home and remember nothing, red in which will allow him to see the truth.
The protagonist Thomas Anderson in the series is one of billions of humans connected to the Matrix, he is a quiet programmer for the "respectable software company" Metacortex. Thomas Anderson is the character in the movie whose later alias becomes “Neo”. Which an anagram for “the one” a name that is most profound parallel to the Bible. Coincidence I think not. Neo is the Christ-figure in The Matrix who is sent to liberate men from their fallen and enslaved state Zion that is the last human city on earth, paralleling the Zion of the Bible. Morpheus and other believers herald him as the “One.” Neo or Christ sets humans free from the matrix or sin as agent Smith who in terms is Satan. Neo has a resurrection scene at the end of the first installment of The Matrix. In this scene Smith kills him, and his coming back to life serves as a testament to his power, and sets the stage for Neo’s final sacrifice at the end of the third movie. It is the scene at the end of the trilogy when Neo makes his Christ-like death. After this sacrifice, Neo is lifted into the sky, the same way one might describe Christ’s resurrection. Neo's performance was so good that famous hollywood director Quienten
He knows that one of them must die, and the Oracle has told him that it will be up to him which one it is. Therefore, when he enters the Matrix he makes that choice, and knowingly goes to sacrifice himself for the sake of mankind. However, it is now that he is starting to believe in himself, and he also believes that he can bring Morpheus back. It is at this point that he starts to transcend into the romantic hero, he starts to believe in himself and to realise the truth. He sheds his old identity, Thomas Anderson and embraces his new one with the famous "My name is Neo."
Deep within the cave the prisoners are chained by their necks and have a limited view of reality. Around them, by the distant light of the fire, they only see shadows and outlines of people or objects. From their conclusions of what they may think is real, are false. “The Matrix” parallels Plato’s “Allegory of the Cave” in a number of ways. Similar to the prisoners of the cave the humans trapped in the modern day puppet-handlers (the machines) want them to see. In the movie, Neo is a computer hacker, and on day he suddenly realizes that his world is fake, by finding out the truth after he was released from the pod. Neo discovers that what he has been presented with his entire life is only reflections or merely shadows of the truth. The theme is recognized throughout the movie as we see many objects, as well as Neo, reflected in other objects. The puppet-handlers (the machines) represent what Plato calls the influential and powerful members of society. The objects making the shadows in “The Allegory of the Cave” are also creating a false conclusion for the prisoners. In “The Matrix” the puppet-handle...
Is he the one? Is Neo, played by Keanu Reeves, the savior? Could he be
In the documentary “Fed Up,” sugar is responsible for Americas rising obesity rate, which is happening even with the great stress that is set on exercise and portion control for those who are overweight. Fed Up is a film directed by Stephanie Soechtig, with Executive Producers Katie Couric and Laurie David. The filmmaker’s intent is mainly to inform people of the dangers of too much sugar, but it also talks about the fat’s in our diets and the food corporation shadiness. The filmmaker wants to educate the country on the effects of a poor diet and to open eyes to the obesity catastrophe in the United States. The main debate used is that sugar is the direct matter of obesity. Overall, I don’t believe the filmmaker’s debate was successful.
The Matrix is considered by many people to be a cyberpunk triumph. Declan McCullagh from wired.com writes: "When Neo/Reeves wakes up from his VR slumber and unplugs from The Matrix, he joins a ragtag band of rebels led by the charismatic Morpheus (Lawrence Fishburne). Their plan: To overthrow the artificial intelligences that have robbed humanity of reality" (McCullagh). Entertainment weekly also sees The Matrix as a movie about rebellion against oppression: "Neo is, of course, The One, the prophesied leader of the oppressed who will lead the people of Zion (an underground city populated by the last free humans) from bondage--but only if he can believe in himself and trust in the power of love" (Bernadin).
Saw is a American horror film directed by James Wan. The film is about a killer who calls himself the Jigsaw. He kills and/or “teaches” his victims to respect life. He watches his victims and then abducts them when learning their problems in life.
Let me briefly explain a simplified plot of The Matrix. The story centers around a computer-generated world that has been created to hide the truth from humans. In this world people are kept in slavery without their knowledge. This world is designed to simulate the peak of human civilization which had been destroyed by nuclear war. The majority of the world's population is oblivious to the fact that their world is digital rather than real, and they continue living out their daily lives without questioning their reality. The main character, Neo, is a matrix-bound human who knows that something is not right with the world he lives in, and is eager to learn the truth. He is offered the truth from a character named Morpheus, who proclaims that Neo is “the One” (chosen one) who will eventually destroy the Matrix, thereby setting the humans “free.” For this to happen, Neo must first overcome the Sentient Program agents who can jump into anyone's digital body. They are the Gate Keepers and hold the keys to The Matrix.
window and jumped to the other side of the wall where the office was. Once Alex got to the window, "[He] slid the window open and hoisted himself into [the] second office” (Horowitz 35). The lady that had taken the call earlier had come back and opened the door on him, then congratulating him on his recent courageous behaviors that allowed him to become a part of the MI6. He was unaware that he had been being recruited. Again, his new dynamic characteristics show because he made a death defying jump to get into the office which he may have previously just waited on the door to be unlocked.
Gladiator (2000) is an action drama about a Roman general that is betrayed by his country and is forced to fight in the Colosseum. This particular scene, which runs for approximately 5 minutes, is the aftermath of the fight scene between Maximus, the betrayed general, and Commodus, the jealous emperor who betrayed him. This scene is not only significant because it is the concluding scene of the film, but also because it represents the end of Maximus’s enslavement and his coming to peace with dying.
The Matrix is a sci-fi action film about a computer hacker named Neo that has been brought into another world deemed “the matrix.” The Matrix is a prime example of cinematography. The film uses many different types of cinematography such as mise-en-scene, special effects, and camera shots to make it interesting and entertaining to the audience guiding their attention to the important aspects of the film.
...e point when Neo realizes that the spoon does not exist, he does not fully grasp that he does exist. Just as Descartes’s doubt about his own existence leads him to find proof of his existence, so, too, Neo’s ability to live despite dying in The Matrix leads him to understand that the rules in The Matrix can be broken. He becomes aware of his existence and fully realizes that because The Matrix is simply a projected reality that it does not conform to the laws of the ‘real’ world outside of the Matrix.
Alex is back to his old self again, thinking bad thoughts, crasting, and doing a bit of the ultra-violent. However, he quickly grows tired of his old lifestyle. When he comes to this realization, Alex says, “…now I felt this bolshy big hollow inside my plott, feeling very surprised too at myself. I knew what was happening, O my brothers. I was like growing up.” Even though he as regained the freedom of choice, can choose badness if he wants to, Alex exerts his freedom in a new way, he chooses goodness. He is truly cured.
