Mad Max: Fury Road is a post-apocalyptic movie that deals with running away and redemption. The themes of the movie are established in the opening scene with Max standing in the desert which tells the audience the personality of the main character. The use of filming techniques by the director illustrates the inner turmoil that Max does not want to deal with which caused the audience to sympathize for Max without needing a flashback. The way Max is introduced to the audience contradicts his cowardly personality. Max is forced to seek redemption when the enemies attack his car, which symbolizes him, telling the audience that he will not be able to run away from his problems anymore because when he tries to run away yet again, he is captured. The mysterious character’s face is finally shown to be a scared man seeking to run away again as the synchronous sound of the scissors cutting his hair symbolizes the start of his new journey. As he is trying to escape from the enemy's’ lair, the intense chase scene pauses when Max stares at a tower with greenery. This shot is the only shot that has high key lighting illustrating the contrast of the pureness of nature and the contamination of machinery. This green tower also indicates his redemption to the audience because nature symbolizes rebirth and renewal and because Max is a troubled soul, this movie is Max’s redemption. The first action of resistance that Max conducts is an eyeline match of a branding rod, he struggles and releases himself from the enemy’s clutches. This act illustrates that his fight or flight response but shows that he does have fight within himself and it’s finally shown. He is willing to stand up for himself when the time is needed but ultimately tries to run away but the tower of nature shows Max that it is time to stand him ground as it is the last thing he sees before he is dragged back …show more content…

I choose this scene because of the high tensions it has I also choose it because it is the climax my favorite
The sound used in this scene are all diegetic, the sounds of gunfire and explosions show that the characters in this scene are in very real danger of being shot or blown up, this helps the viewer develop a more personal connection with the characters since the scene is towards the end of the film, the viewer has developed a personal connection with the characters and do not want them to die. The diegetic sounds of military personnel can be heard, this is used to show the urgency that the military personnel have to get The Sapphires and Dave out of the dangerous situation. When Max was younger, in daycare, he tended to “talk with his fists”, punching and kicking other children as he pleased. This was most likely a gene passed down from his father, with Kenny Kane’s violent ways. Once Grim and Gram took over parenting, it was clear that Max learned to control himself, or had become controlled by them. Either that, or his mother’s
"Street...more and more" (Foreman 332). After Will Kane with the help of Amy, his wife, take don Frank Miller and his gang, it is finally safe for people to come out. So many people that could have helped him started pouring out of there homes surrounding the gun fight, and it leads Will Kane to believe that a ton of people could have helped. This quote shows how the theme in the movie is that friends will abandoned you. "It has become too easy...bore than perfection" (Connell 220). The sociopath General Zarroff has been hunting the most dangerous and exotic animals in the world, but because he was so good a it, the hunt no longer seemed to give him any excitement. This lead to him having the idea of hunting humans, which lead to the hunting of Rainsford. The theme for the short story unlike High Noon is that perfection is

The last extreme long shot shows the rural desert which contrasts with their bright costumes, letting the audience feel their accomplishment of climbing King Canyon in full drag. The music in the background is a soft slow song that gets more dramatic the longer it plays finally getting at its climax when they reach the top. This music can mean that their journey was slow at the beginning but got a lot more interesting the longer they drove.
It is evident that Max tries to escape his reality and get lost in a world where he can find freedom from his complex troubles, much like every other child in the world today whom does not know how to deal with such chaotic and complicated thoughts. Max, unknowingly comes face to face with all his emotions through the lives of others, helping him to come to an understanding in his escape. In the film “Where the Wild Things Are” Max’s sister ignores him, he feels his mothers new boyfriend is taking her from him and he is overall portrayed as a lonely, lost character. Max is told by his mother that he has gone out of control, which essentially is the last straw in initiating him to run away to where he eventually ends up where the wild things are. According to the article “Fantasy - Necessary for Sanity and Morality” in order for proper development, “A child needs to understand what is going on within his conscious self so that he can cope with that which goes on within his unconscious.” This can be attained by daydreaming through stories and scenarios to ...

As a fan of cinema, I was excited to do this project on what I had remembered as a touching portrait on racism in our modern society. Writer/Director Paul Haggis deliberately depicts his characters in Crash within the context of many typical ethnic stereotypes that exist in our world today -- a "gangbanger" Latino with a shaved head and tattoos, an upper-class white woman who is discomforted by the sight of two young Black kids, and so on -- and causes them to rethink their own prejudices during their "crash moment" when they realize the racism that exists within themselves.
Freire believes that “those who espouse the cause of liberation are themselves surrounded and influenced by the climate which generates the banking concept, and often do not perceive its true significance or its dehumanizing power” (79). Max does not realize the effects of his power, and while trying to build all these clubs up, he suppresses the people who are in them. However, all this begins to change once Max begins to communicate and reflect on what others say to him. When Max is flying his kite, Margaret enters the scene when she lands her toy airplane near Max and Dirk. Margaret then says that Max has been a jerk to her, and then leaves. Prior to this encounter, Max dropped out of school and became a recluse, but after Margaret enlightened him about his behavior, Max became his former self and made a list of people who would be interested in a newly-formed kite club. Margaret was finally able to speak her mind and in doing so, she altered the teacher-student paradigm by having an open discussion with Max, as opposed to being told what to do. This reversal is an enlightening experience for Max because now he realizes that to become a better person, open communication is a necessary construct. From this point forward, Max will begin to reminisce Freire’s idea of an ideal student who switches his position on authority to one of open and free-flowing

When American Sniper opened in theaters January 2015, the world was shocked and excited that a film about a war has finally shown the emotional and psychological pain a soldier goes through. To many this was a new concept but, what the public did not realize, was in 2014, a World War II film, Fury was released. Fury is an insightful film about a tank crew surviving through World War II through the emotional and psychological hardships. The film takes place in April 1945, five months before WWII ends (Fury, IMDb). There are many key points to which makes Fury a modern war film from the extent of backstory each character has, to the prescreening prep and training, to the research of the props. Though American Sniper and Fury differ in wars and
