One of the things I like the most about the fashion world is that it is always changing, it never stops so you never get bored. We are always experimenting and trying new things, but also we take influences from a previous era, we modify them and create something new. We get inspired by others until we find our own style which also helps others to find their own.
I use fashion to express myself and my personality, I like how clothing can portray a message about ourselves and allows us to communicate with each other without using words.
People underestimate the power of fashion and the impact that it has in the world, to me fashion is not just artistic expression, it is also a form of social awareness, a critique against the norm and a form of expression for ones social, cultural and political standpoint. I think that it can be used as a weapon to break social norms and a

I enjoy working in every aspect of fashion: from the researching, the pattern design, the texture and color searching and illustration to the creating process, and styling. I also have a special interest in the fashion communication and promotion as I really like photography and digital retouching.
Beyond the school, I have been attending to art classes for the past 4 years in order to improve my fashion illustration skills, but also as a hobby because I really enjoy drawing. I also have attended some extra curricular courses such as non certificate short courses in Book illustration, Digital Photography and Adobe Photoshop Editing and Retouching.
In my spare time I like to express myself through paintings and drawings and I enjoy attending local art exhibitions in my city. My main interests are taking photographs, reading books and computers. Also, I like blogging and reading about fashion to keep up to date with the latest trends and get inspired to express my own
Throughout history, there were many things that influenced fashion and the ideal body image of the time. Things such as politics, and changes in social roles were some things that had an influence on the fashion of the day. One particular shocking thing that had influenced on the fashion around the 1800s were sickness and diseases. Not only were diseases and sickness caused by different fashion trends, but it set the tone for certain ideal body images and also influenced the fashion of the time.
To summarize, fashion is just another outlet through which we can view our ever changing world. It is just as important as literature, cinema, and other means of creative expression that document history. However, fashion plays an even bigger role than most other art forms because it can shape the identity of a generation. Similarly, the clothes you wear can tell a story about who you are and your part in shaping a culture. In history class we often view historical events and facts so objectively that we forget that the people we read about had their own colorful culture as we do. Observing fashion and fashion history, ultimately, breathe life into the past and help us to understand how we operate as a society.
Who doesn’t love Fashion? I mean look at all the amazing clothes and accessories there is out there. Those designer bags, those cute pencil skirts, those nice sparkly high heels we wish we could wear but can’t really walk in high heels because it would trip and would leave us with appalling blisters. Fashion is everywhere. There are range of different amount of styles everywhere you go. Fashion is something where anyone can express themselves with. It allows them to be original, imaginative and self-confident. Anyone can be inspired by Fashion.
Fueled by her keen fashion sense, Cassandra plans to investigate the field of fashion journalism with the hopes of one day working for E TV. Cassandra got the chance to interview Nina Garcia, her favorite fashion journalist, and asked her a questions about her career choice. She asked her about how she got into fashion, what her dream job was, how much internships she had, and much more. “This New York Fashion Week, models and editors are stylishly dressed but fashion designers are naked. Legally naked, that is” (Scafidi, Rodriguez, NYT). Fashion design is a form of art. Currently there is no set of copyright laws to protect fashion design. Consequently, especially within the past 10 years, fashion designers have struggled to protect their form of art. Americans concerned with the future of the fashion industry started to stand up for the industry and propose acts to protect it, yet none have been successful enough to pass. Based on information from The Council of Fashion Designer Association, most fashion designers would agree, this needs to change. Fashion designers should have fashion design copyright
This essay is one that seeks to discuss and educate you the reader about, “Whe Dem call Hot Dress ah jus excuse fi sho aff Dem badi.” In the contemporary trends of today (21st century), people become more and more independent and break out of their shells. Dress is defined as “an assemblage of modifications of the body and/or supplements to the body”, (Roach-Higgins & Eicher 1992).
The Renaissance time period started in the late 14th century and it lasted all through the 16th century. It all started in the late Middle ages throughout Italy (http://fashionhistory.net) taking at least one-hundred years before it reached the Northern Alps. This was also the period where the word “European” was put in use and understood by other places, and the word “Renascrere” originated from the Italian word “Renascrere” and it meant to be re-born. The word Renascrere fitted perfectly to this age due to the fact that many had intellectual pursuits and creative energy was re-born (www.richeast.org). The Renaissance would be best known for its artistic aspect and famous polymaths as Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo given the term “Renaissance men.” It was an effective cultural and development of perspective in painting movement spreading to the rest of Europe and the advancements in science. I have had two part-time jobs involving computer related work, in which I have been able to bring art influences into. When working for Retail Futures, an e-commerce company based in Malvern, I designed their corporate image, and websites for clients such as Coalport and Parcel Force. More recently I have taken another job with a more technical slant, for another e-commerce firm, eplexus. I still do design work, in which I have designed websites and images for "Highwaycode.com", and Anglo Digital a successful venture capitalist firm. Alongside my practical experience, I am also studying Computing at my current college, which aids me to learn the fundamentals of computer usage and programming, an area that I am interested in.
To begin with, I will look at each of the two subjects. Fashion is an extremely large subject with many sub-categories and can mean many different things, however in this essay I will take fashion to mean the popular clothing style. I will put emphasis on looking at high fashion as these are the leaders of their field. Fashion itself though, is not to be confused with clothing. Clothing is a part of fashion, but it is predominantly purely functional, for protection from different aspects of the environment. Fashion however, is primarily for image. It is a way to present individuality and personality. A physical mouldable form of expression. Designers wish to create works of art that can be worn, and this is wear clothing becomes an art form.
Many people think fashion is just all about design or the clothing that you wear. In fact, the definition is “a popular way of dressing during a particular time or among a particular group of people” (Fashion). Well personally, I think that have got it wrong, and there are many more things about fashion that people do not realize. Consumerism and consumption play a huge role on what fashion is today and what goes into it, and not just about design or designers, but also socially and environmentally. Consumerism and consumption impact the social and environmental aspect of the fashion industry because of what people buy, why they buy things, what type of things they look for in terms of quality or brand, and also where they go to shop.
Fashion was culturally formed, and there is a close relationship between art and fashion. The first designer who had his label sewn into a garment he created was Charles Frederick Worth (1825-1895). In the 1840s, adult women adopted a variation on girls' pantalettes as an undergarment. (Toccata: March 2010 toccatamundi.blogspot.com
Fashion, psychology and the sociological perspective have long been perceived as mutually exclusive concepts. However, is there a possibility that a trinity exists in the former? To illustrate, it is evident that throughout history fashion has influenced society as a whole and has mirrored its aspects i.e. economical and sociological. Furthermore, this influence has developed to be perceived psychologically where individuals identify with fashion in the sense of translating visual information showing their personal views and attitudes. To that effect, what is fashion? Traditionally and in the literary sense, fashion is defined as ‘a popular trend, especially in styles of dress and ornament or manners of behavior’ . However,
Clothing has always been an important part of society, with evidence from the earliest human civilizations. In history, climate, religion and political factors played a role in the fabrication, styling and even color of the garments that people wore. Today, the fashion industry is multi-faceted, and while climate and religion are still some factors in how we dress, there are many more influences in what we choose to wear. Time and time again, designers reference historical styles and push them into modern trends. Subcultures illustrate how a particular way of dressing can transform into a lifestyle. Ethnic fashion ties in with a specific culture’s values and beliefs. By looking at clothing in other societies around the world, as well as the many global subcultures, we can learn a lot about the depth and complexity of the members that make this world colorful and diverse.
Fashion is a currently valued style of appearance and behavior. It is a way to shape one’s external custom. The history of fashion dates back to hundred years ago and it has seen a remarkable progress in the 21st century. Man has endeavored a lot to bring new changes according to style and elegance that suits his needs and desires. Apparently, our culture is inclined towards fashion and change in the former brings change in the latter. When we talk about Pakistan, from the independence day of August 14, 1947 up-to-date, it has been a society in transition and being dynamic in nature, it isconsequently ever-changing and its patterns are transforming from time to time.
All things considered, I firmly believe that people devoted to fashion clothing could earn self-esteem and make them more confident. Nevertheless, it is significant to be original and capable of deciding what to wear by ourselves instead of following the trends without consider our personality. Needless to say, no one should discriminate someone because of not being in fashion. It is our responsibility to give the right importance to
