Family in society holds great importance in our lives. Considered as a foundation in society, it is what forges a community together. Family is the utmost important thing in everybody’s lives. I’m not only talking about biological family but also close friends who we call brothers and sisters. Family to me is a powerful word that enables us to bring each other together. When the word family comes up, the first thing that comes into mind is my mother, father, brother, and my grandmother. Ever since I was an infant my family has been there, when I was conceived, families from all over the world traveled to the United States to see me. My family are the ones that no doubt would be by my side no matter what happens. Although we go through thick and thin, our relationship as a family is the strongest. Everybody in my family; are hard workers, they strive for the better; paving the path for future generations including me. The two foundations of that family is my mom, and my dad. They are the ones that provide for me, send me to school, make sure there’s a roof over my head, and providing food on the table. They go above and beyond what they have in order to appease me and to make sure I get the best of everything in life. Being the oldest child in my family has its perks and its flaws. By flaws I mean, being the guinea pig to anything new, like applying for financial aid, college, and much more. I always envy my brother’s future, because when he reaches my age he will be able to have help with whatever I didn’t get help with or simply know what and where to stay away. To be honest, theres is more perks than flaws of being the oldest. Perks include being able to do what my brother couldn't do like staying out late with fri... ... middle of paper ... ...dges, “Having a place to go is a home. Having someone to love is a family. Having both is a blessing.” To me this quote means to be thankful for what has been given to me. I’m lucky to have a family that is on my side when I need them the most. In conclusion, my family is the best thing I will ever have and nothing can replace it . I am so grateful for them to be a part of my legacy, and I am not sure where I would end up without them. They help me become the man I am today, if not for them who knows who I would be. Family, stands for forever, affectionate, maintaining, intimate, loving, years and my family qualifies for all of the above. I feel very very blessed to be in this family and I will cherish every moment I spend with them. Like Thomas Jefferson said, “The happiest moments of my life have been the few which I have passed at home in the bosom of my family.”
Family defines people making them who they are. A person's family heritage, how their parents met and married, their parents’ occupations, their siblings, and their early lives play an important role in who they are and who they become. Every family is different and has different characteristics and members, but those differences are what make every family unique. Those differences combined with my family members’ experiences and the stories they have chosen to share are what makes this story exclusive to my family.
“This is part of what family is about, not just love, but letting others know that there is someone watching out for them”(Albom 92). From this quote, one learns that family is always there for them. Family is important to life because
Family is important in every culture, it shapes people and makes them who they are.
To me, family is the most important thing in my life. They always encourage me to be the best I can be and nothing more. A quote that I think describes family to me is one by Alex Haley that states, “In every conceivable manner, the family is the link to our past, and bridge to our future.” Through the stories I hear from my mother and grandmother, I have a clear link to my families past and the generation of women that led to me. All the values these women held close to them throughout the years have led to the formation of myself and my values. Over the past three generations, the women in my family have overcome oppression. My mother, growing up in a time where women could never have aspirations to be CEO’s or politicians, somehow came out stronger. She saw what she didn’t want for her future, and jumped at the chance to start a new life in America. No single model of family life characterizes the American family, despite ideological beliefs to the contrary (Andersen). My family couldn’t be labeled an “Italian family” or an “American family.” We are a mix of the two cultures and ideologies, which is what makes us different. I am the first women in my mother’s family to be born and raised in America. My great grandmother had a complete different childhood and adolescence experience than I yet we still have a common cultural base. All her ideals were passed onto my grandmother, than all the down to me, a hundred years in the making to become who I am
Family has a major impact on our lives. From the moment you were born, your family has taught you right from wrong. We get our religion, values, gender roles, language, and habits from our families. We get our status in society through your family’s connection and wealth, which later can determine one’s job opportunities in life. Although we grow up and start to develop our own values and beliefs and opinions, the family values, beliefs and opinions that were instilled in you since you were little never really go away.
I have been blessed enough of always having my two parents and my sisters with me when growing up till today. Family is
When the word “family” is discussed, most people think of mothers, fathers, and other siblings. Some people think of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and even cousins and more on the pedigree tree. Without family in people's lives, they would not be the same people that they grew up to be today and in the future. My family is a love I have. My immediate family consists of six people: my dad, mom, and three sisters and me. However, I love these people on a different scale than I love books. Whether it is a hand to guide, a tissue to wipe away tears, or simply a smile to make my day better I can count on people to love me and so, henceforth, I love them in return. I love my parents for many reasons. They are always there for me when I need help or am need of anything.

I don’t know where I’d be without my family. We’ve been through thick, and thin. I’m very glad that I have them for moral support, and can depend on them for advice. They’ve taught me almost everything I know about life, whether it’d be household chores, manners, morals, cooking, etc. I’m pleased to have a very caring family that would do anything for me. I feel safe and secure with them. They provide me with the basic necessities such as food, water, and a roof over my head. I would consider all of the things they provide me with as luxuries, because not everyone has a comfortable place to reside in, or food to eat. If I didn’t have these basic necessities, then it would be another thing I would have to stress about in life. I like to joke around with them a lot, and it brings a smile to my face when I see their reaction. Having a loving, and supportive family is what makes me
