Quarter One Family Heritage Speech The family heritage speech was my favorite speech that it really helps you see how your past family can really have an effect on the course of your life. After this speech I started to realise that people that I never met played a crucial role in how my life has played out played out so far in my life. This speech allowed me to see how my family has affected my identity. Field Trip This field trip was so much fun we went to several churches that were absolutely beautiful. I am not very religious, but I appreciated the work of the people to make these amazing buildings and in that I realised that it didn’t matter if I believed in the religion but to help me realise what i believe in. This painting is not what you would think about doing in english class, however; it was important to this class to get us thinking about how race, ethnicity, class and gender affected what we made in our paintings. Danger of a Single Story This was a Ted talk that we watched and it really made me think about how I view others around me. The Ted talk was about stereotyping a group of people because of one action that they might have done. Quarter three 1984 This novel is my favorite book that we read this year because it shows that we need to be unique and if everyone is the same the world will be so bland. I believe that one of the main themes is to find your identity, because you do not want to be the same as everyone else. In the book everything is the same for everyone. Which proves that we need to be ourselves which really contributes to the years goal on finding our identity and what that means to us. Great Debaters This is a movie that we watched that is about a small black community and their goal for equality. This movie taught me a lot about the privileges that I have because the kids in this movie are at the forefront of racism. I learned from this movie that even if there are a lot of obstacles stacked up against me that I can prevail it just takes grit. Group Commercials The group commercials were a lot of fun. We got with a group of friends and used the persuasive appeals that were talked about in class to influence our classmates into buying our product. This was my favorite project of the year because we got to work with our friends to make a fun commercial that we shared with the whole

The different characters show signs of obsession and longing for something the desperately need. While many of the characters found a connection between the painting and their problems, the painting was never the source of their misfortune. Their own thoughts and actions marked their lives. Their experiences in life have shaped who they had become, not the painting. It is easy for them to credit the painting for changing their lives, but it was their actions that did. But in the end, no one goes through life
The painting expresses different human behaviors. It is a good visual for a campaign against of the discrimination on the basis of gender because this controversial issue draws a huge impact throughout the world, and especially in the United States. In the past, people conceived the traditional religious beliefs of gender that men were strong and powerful. While women’s roles was to serve in the home, as wives
