Based on the advancements in research dealing with the effects of greenhouse gases on the environment, at the rate of usage across the globe of these gases the end result is not good. Greenhouse gases have already begun to take its toll on the environment. There have been an increase in average temperature, resulting in a warmer average global temperature. The title of "Fahrenheit 9/11" is a play on the title of the famous Ray Bradbury novel, "Fahrenheit 451" in which society has been transformed into an authoritarian, repressive regime, in which subversive ideas are crimes and books are burned. In the book, a lonely protagonist is awakened to this reality and joins the struggle to keep underground dissidence alive.
In Fahrenheit 451 there are quite a few different values. The first values we are introduced to are Guy Montag's, who values, ironically, are the only ones who change throughout the book. At the beginning we see that he loves his job and is content with his life. "It was a pleasure to burn. It was a special pleasure to see things eaten, to see things blackened and changed... Later, going to sleep, he would feel the firey smile still gripped by his face muscles. It never went away that smile, it never ever went away as long as he remembered." (Bradbury 1) But later on in the book we see that his values have been changed. Largely by Clarisse, the woman who burned herself with her books, Faber, and his own reading of books. His values, by the end of the book, are more about giving society what has been taken from them, for so long: or the recipe for happiness, as Faber calls it. Although most journalists would state that their main objective in reporting on a story is to maintain impartial, this with the onset of cable news stations as well as the internet has become increasingly rare. Cable news stations such as CNN and FOX news are increasingly influenced by the politicians and corporations which control most of their funding. As Michael Moore states in his documentary “ Fahrenheit 9/11”, which ironically is another good example of bias in the media, the man in charge of Fox News’ decision desk on election night was none other then George Bush’s first cousin. I would seem impartially may be compromised in this situation. To say that the media worked together with the media to promote the Iraq war may be an exaggeration, however the media in know way held the government responsible for the fraud that they committed in invading Iraq. The media, whether knowingly or not, promoted the Bush Administrations agenda in Iraq by arousing overwhelming feelings of nationalism in the American people. It then became unpopular, or un-american to oppose the war. In the case of the Iraq war the media failed to properly fulfill its responsibility of maintaining accountability in government as well as most importantly reporting in an impartial style.
Michael Moore’s latest film, “Fahrenheit 9/11,” presents a critical look at the administration of George W. Bush and the War on Terrorism. In this film Moore investigates the rapid growth of the United States government and its trend of trampling the rights of individuals, and the corporatism that is spawned out of the close ties between big government and big business during wartime. Michael Moore may not convince all audiences, but is successful for its factual accuracy in which the evidence spoke for itself, and at the same time proclaimed Moore's artistry in transposing and splicing scenes to create impressions that supported his allegations and opinions. Michael Moore has employed two main techniques in an attempt to successfully influence his audience; psychological means of strategy, and cinematic techniques of persuasion. These methods, coupled with how they are presented to the audience, and how the audience react, are what Moore uses to create a scheming effect.
While some scientists argue that the most prominent changes to our climate caused by our release of green house gases will be more significant in the future, it has been highlighted by others than some changes are occurring in this decade. Examples of this are glacial melt leading to rise in sea level, surface temperatures rising on big bodies of water like lakes and the sea and some even can link the release of green house gases to more violent storms and heavier rainy seasons.

Temperature is thermodynamic property of objects. It is an “indirect measure of the kinetic energy of the particles that make up matter” (Lerner 2008). When the thermometer is in thermal equilibrium with other objects, it indicates the degrees of objects’ temperatures. The commonly debated “greenhouse effect” refers to “the global average temperature increase that has been observed over the last one hundred years or more” (Spencer). President Barack Obama addressed the issue in an effort to highlight its severity, "We have to all shoulder the responsibility for keeping the planet habitable, or we’re going to suffer the consequences – together” (Leader). The earth’s increasing atmospheric and oceanic temperatures result in climate changes due to cumulative amounts of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere. As an outcome, researchers around the globe have established that the by-product of burning fossil fuels is the main culprit of the increasing temperatures. The average surface temperature on Earth has increased approximately 1.0°F in the past century, and it is projected that it will again increase somewhere two and nine degrees by the year 2100. The effects of global warming are very serious. Causing all kinds of damage. and growing danger for the ecosystem. We know that global warming is a HUGE problem that humans need to try and improve. Our planet has managed to survive and thrive for about 4.54 billion years. In the last 2 million years we have caused enough damage and destruction to make our world “broken” beyond repair. We will not be able to get back the world we once had.
