In today's society, many people think that technology has ruined our world, and that the government uses technology to implement conformity into the people. In 1953, a book called Fahrenheit 451 was published by renowned writer Ray Bradburry. The book is about a society that's being fed lies by the government and talks about the danger of censorship and the addiction that people have to technology. Fahrenheit 451 also goes over the importance of books and how it affects individualism in a person. Although Fahrenheit 451 is fiction, many people compare it to our society and how we will eventually be like the book. In today's society America has not become a post-literate, anti- intellectual society because in todays world people use technology to meet more people, allows more information to be spread around faster, and makes the lives of many people less easier. …show more content…
