Factual texts are that the thing we read is based on facts. The facts are true and reliable. Facts cannot come out of nothing, so they are based on research and studies. Reading texts will to teach us more about the real life, it can be especially the thing you are interested in. Unlike fictional texts, the factual texts are based on facts, and not things that amazes our brain and imagination.A important rules before you writing a factual texts is the text should be based on recent studies,and it must be written in an interesting way so the reader can easily read and understand the text. A factual text consists of theories, thoughts and of course facts.

On the internet, we can find many factual texts consisting of all the things we can imagine, but some of the texts are more interesting than others. I like to read about technology and science. Especially I like to read about air crafts, and the development that scientists gain in this particular area. I find it interesting because this can help the humankind in the future, and it could benefit my children and grandchildren.
Working with such texts is something that everyone could benefit from, if the text is interesting, you can be both pleased and learn at the same time. The class can learn a lot of information if the teacher let us read factual books. To make it more interesting we could also read things like science magazines. The teacher could then give us different tasks and mission, which must be handed in, then everyone could get a comment on their work.

As a conclusion I find it very interesting to read literary texts, we can learn a lot, in addition we can develop our English skills. The learning gets more interesting if the author writes in a good and easy way. If the author is experienced, the reading is easier and we learn more. We can improve our writing skills, like structure and vocabulary. Reading is important, and every student should read at least a few books each year. By reading literary texts about other person’s life, we can learn from their mistakes, and also about their experience. We see how other people achieves their goals, and the way they do it.
I agree with the quote "A work of literature must provide more than factual accuracy or vivid physical reality... it must tell us more than we already know.". I feel like when reading a book it shouldn't be all about facts or just story lines. A book should should mix things up so it makes us want to read them and not focus on one thing. The Book Sold tells us facts about sex trafficking but it also provides us with something else, how a life of young girl is sold into sex trafficking by her step father so she can help the family with money. The second book "Eleanor and Park" talks about vivid details and also has a story line about relationships.
Through these resources, activities, and strategies, students are able to make progress into distinguishing the main idea and supporting details in reading texts. Through this they are also able to organize thoughts to develop a topic sentence and moreover use supporting facts and details. Many of the resources and activities done in this lesson allowed the students to think for themselves and make educated guesses based on the information given. In the beganning of the book the Jewish people were very suppotive of each other,but as thier lives but as individuals survival is on the line, they abandon one another. This book is very educating about the history of the concentration camps and Holocaust. “…The spectators observed these emaciated creatures ready to kill for a crust of bread...the old man was crying, ‘Meir, my little Meir! Don’t you recognize me…you’re killing your father…I have bread…for you too…for you too’ He collapsed…there were two dead bodies next to (Elie), the father and the son.” (Page 101 of Night) Concentration camps were terrible. The prisoners/Jews were so underfed that they were willing to kill their own family members for a slice of bread. The Jews would go to extremes in order to get a bit more food to line their stomachs. Concentration camps, Gestapo, and SS transform the prisoners’ morals and their lives. “My father suddenly had a colic attack. He got up and asked politely, in German, ‘Excuse me…could you tell me where the toilets are located?’ (Night page 39) …Then, he slapped my father with such force that he fell down and then crawled back to his place on all fours.” This also shows the brutality of the German Kapos and the Nazi Staff. This quote means that the work of literature is more defined and tells us a deeper concept than we already would know. Many other, including I, agree with this quote from E. M. Forster. This quote is true in the books Beowulf and The Great Gatsby because they both provide events and themes that you wouldn't think would happen. These two books also have irony, setting, and conflict to support this quote.
If a non-fiction book was only filled with facts readers would quickly lose interest and not want to read it. Also, without personal opinions and anecdotes, the book would lack a purpose. Style is crucial to having a book that appeals to the reader’s attention span, and if there is no connection to the reader through the author’s personality, then this book is not successful due to the lack of a personal voice from the author.
Although a novel is usually fictional most are written off real life experiences and feelings. Novels can enhance the feelings of what realism dumbs down to straight facts.
Textbooks are essential and informative, however it is not the main core value of education. If we truly depend on textbook, our world would be as naïve as natives in colonization era. Schopenhauer provides the difference between reading and thinking. “Reading forcibly imposes on the mind thoughts that are as foreign to its mood and direction” (Schopenhauer, pg. 89) Reading is an escape of reality. It penetrates the mind and alters thinking. “The mind is totally subjected to an external compulsion” (Schopenhauer, pg.89) although reading is prominent, it can impair personal thinking. “That the surest way of never having any thoughts of your own is to pickup a book every time you have a free moment.” (Schopenhauer, pg. 90) When it comes to reading college content, it has no originality. We are attaining our foreign thinking from a text that has been modified thus teach one purpose only and that is to provide facts. We cannot attain wisdom from textbooks. Universities provide textbooks that are a copy of another copy; that is to say, the information is the production of somebodies else’s idea following by, another mans ideas and so on. “All that has ever been taught is a critique of a words and fifty critiques of them as preserved side-by-side and intermingled” (Nietzsche, pg. 187) What can we obtain from a mixtures of words? Literature should give more than just facts or physical imagery, it has to tell more than what is already known. For example in the novel Bless Me, Ultima, written by Rudolfo Anaya, the author captures the essence of innocence of a child through the eyes of six year old Antonio Marez. Works of literature depict so much more than we can comprehend. Factual accuracy is not the only important aspect in literature. Readers experience emotional truths.
Fiction stories are those stories not true or factual and are created by the author. These stories are imagined by the author and narrated to the reader. The reader has the opportunity to add their own imagination to the story to make the reading even more enjoyable. Fiction relies on the imagination of the author and the imagination of the reader along with the elements of fiction. Fiction readings are in the form of realistic and non-realistic. When discussing these two types of fiction readings two stories come to mind. The realistic story that comes to mind is the story of “A & P” by John Updike. John Updike is “…considered one of the best of American writers of fiction and poetry” and his story of “A & P” proves to be an ideal example of fiction (V., and Zweig 370). The non-realistic story is “The Fox and the Grapes”, which is found in Aesop’s Fables. Both of these narratives contain elements of fiction easily identified and therefore entertaining to discuss. Characters and point of view are two of the elements of fiction found in these two short stories. Discussion of these two elements, expand on the knowledge of fiction stories through examples and definitions.
“The War Against The Jews” by Lucy Dawidowicz explores a very dark time in history and interprets it from her view. Through the use of other novels, she concurs and agrees to form her opinion. This essay will explore who Dawidowicz is, why she wrote the book, what the book is about, what other authors have explored with the same topic, and how I feel about the topic she wrote about. All in all, much research will be presented throughout the essay. In the end you will see how strongly I feel about the topic I chose. I believe that although Hitler terrorized the Jews, they continued to be stronger than ever, and tried to keep up their society.

Although people in academia fear that integrating science fiction in course curriculum might degrade students’ learning habit, it is also true that science fiction fascinates students and encourages them to research more about the topic. This eventually broadens the students’ horizon of knowledge, which is the sole purpose of learning. While it is true that usage of science fiction may not always be the best choice for teachers as it requires time to find relevant materials, but, if made the right selection, students would very likely understand complex scientific theories in short time with little explanation.
