Dadi and dada sent all of their children to school. It is believed that an educated daughter will get a better husband and an educated son can contribute both his salary and his city connections to benefit the family. The older women said that education ruins a girl but getting an education is starting to become widely encouraged and accepted. The benefits of schooling is that the family pays for it. The disadvantage would be only completing school in hopes of finding a better significant other. Additionally, some of the families want the kids to get an education in order to improve their lives. As a result, it’s important to show modesty and respect especially in front of men older than her husband. Weddings are family events and they cement all relationships in the family. Two types of marriages that are mentioned were child marriages and arranged marriages. They are different because with child marriage a minor is getting married to someone much older than they are and with an arranged marriage the couple had no choice in whether or not they wanted to be married to each other. Moreover, it was stated in the video that women can be married off anywhere to
In conclusion, a family is presented as a haven of care and love and a social unit of teaching values, especially for growing kids. However, the family does not seclude a person from the larger society, thereby giving all the members a choice to live their own life. Through the review of the movie, Tom and Matt were used by the director to define family and cultural values.
The parents as the role models for their children that means many children will do what their parents mostly do, hence, is really important that the parents teaching their child. However, the research find out that the parents with higher socioeconomic states are more involved in their kids’ schooling (Chu et all, 1996) The reason seems obvious to me due to the importance of parents’ education, if the parents having more school, than parents could be like a ‘coach’ for their kids, that parents could guide the road of succeed. Also, the parents with higher education might provide a favorable environment since is easier to get a steady job with higher education. According to Kean, (2005), the parents with higher education have positive influence on children’s outcome, cause the majority of parents who are very educated might influence their kids though beliefs and behaviors, that will lead children and youth to a positive outcome (Kean, 2005). Parents’ educations have an influence on children in many different ways, although the parents’ expectation can affect children as well. Kean illustrated if parents expect high achievement, then it predicts better chance for achievement for their children (Kean, 2005). Moreover, sometimes parents’ expectation showed how

Family; a family is any group of individuals living together under a common roof. August Wilson’s “Fences” portrays extremely well the significance of family and what key elements go into each and every family. However, occasionally some members do not have similar values as others when it comes to the responsibility expected by others as a member. The use of metaphors and symbols throughout the play such as baseball and fences illustrate exactly why Troy Maxson’s family life was destined for failure.
Family is a reoccurring theme in the film and in each of the three stories. It affects the characters and the course of events throughout each different story- allowing for
Have you ever wondered where the conspiracy that if you pee in a pool the water will turn blue comes from? It comes from the movie Grown Ups, when Kevin James is sitting in the pool with his two kids and all of a sudden a cloud of blue swarms around their bodies. All men that have seen this movie are paranoid of this happening in real life, whether they admit it or not. The combination of an all-star cast, a genuine lesson learned at the end, and a humor that appeals to all age groups makes for one of the best comedies ever. The director of Grown Ups, Dennis Dugan, did a fantastic job of assembling a cast of comedy genius’. The five main roles are played by Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade, and Rob Schneider.
A family can be classified as one of many things. It can be a group of people living under one roof; a group of people of common ancestry; or even a unit of a crime syndicate like the Mafia (Merriam Webster). But to Holden Caulfield, the main character of J.D. Salinger’s novel The Catcher In The Rye, his family was what we as a society normally think of when that word is spoken. There are always variations on a theme, but a typical family consists of two parents and at least one child. During the 1950’s when the novel is set, adoption was virtually unheard of and divorce could be considered a sin where as today these are common practices. But one thing about family that has prevailed through the decades is the family’s affect on a person’s existence. The way a person interacts with their family can affect them for the rest of their lives. And the way a family interacts with a specific person can affect that person for the rest of their life. It is a two way relationship which is often complicated and confusing, especially to Holden.
A traditional extended family living in Northern India can become acquainted through the viewing of Dadi’s family. Dadi, meaning grandmother in Hindu, lets us explore her family up close and personal as we follow the trials and tribulations the family encounters through a daily basis. The family deals with the span of three generations and their conflicting interpretations of the ideal family life. Dadi lets us look at the family as a whole, but the film opens our eyes particularly on the women and the problems they face. The film inspects the women’s battle to secure their status in their family through dealing with a patriarchal mentality. The women also are seen attempting to exert their power, and through it all we are familiarized to

The idea of family is different from person to person. Regardless of the differences, everyone’s family is unique and special in their own way. No one can judge or discriminate against people for their meaning and interpretation of what a family looks like. For example, family may have two parents; one parent; or no parents (since these are brief phrases, semi-colons shouldn't be used). The variation and differences between families makes culture and society so diverse. Family does not have limitations or boundaries (true). As long as the definition of family contains the qualities of unconditional love, and endless support, help, and guidance; all different families (awk) will be able to succeed and achieve a greater feeling of happiness and a sense of belonging and acceptance.
They are the ones who support their children during those life decisions. Family is not always blood related. Finally, family is forever, family will never go away. Support is a massive part of the family. Family watches their kids and other family members fail and succeed all the time.
To thoroughly elaborate on the institution of family we most look at the family as it was before and how much it has changed over time. Throughout the years we are recognizing that the family is slowly being replaced by other agents of socialization. Families in the past consisted of a mother and a father and most times children. We are, as many societies a patriarchal society; men are usually the head of the households. This has always been considered the norm.
