What could be better than college courses in prison? Imagine what the world would be like if prisoners could take college courses in prison. The prisoners need something to get them back on their feet… and college courses could do that. The classes could change the way they live life when they get out of prison. Having college courses in prison is significant because of, some people want to change their life around, it can change people when they come out of prison, and it will increase that amount of crimes.

One way is through college classes. The classes could dramatically change the people. Instead of going and just standing there, they will go and try to get a job instead.The best possible outcome of this is that they get a job after prison,the worst is that they do not get a job, but they still have an education. Criminals only go back to their ways because there is no other option, when they can find a stable legal income there is no reason to further any criminal acts. Many people come out of prison never wanting to go back and I believe those are the people that I will be able to find that do not recidivate. Even though there may be stable income for these people, it may not be the highest paying job or most education heavy career. These people may get by with minimum wage but there is no luxury or lavishness. I also believe that there are many people that do not take any actions and these are the people that you will hear stories about that are not able to find jobs so they go back to doing what they know how. Students should be able to try many different classes to discover what interests them the most, not to be fed knowledge that they very well might know already (and is perhaps of no interest to them). If required courses were eliminated, it would free up much time that students could then use to pursue their own interests. College exists to help people become unique individuals, not to put every person into the same standard mold.
I think that for teens in solutions when they have to remind in juvenile centers for a long period of time. It’s a good thing for them to have options about going to classes and still trying to have a normal life routine. I believe that it would be a great thing if they got mentors or role models to help them overcome issues that they are facing while being incarcerated.

Not everyone loves the ideas of alternatives to prison because alternatives to prison seem to work only when there is a limited number of cases that adhere to the sentence, However, when places like California is spending more money on their prison systems than on actual education, alternatives to prison seem to be the best choice (David, 2006).
Imagine having 10 students fail an exam in a class of 15 people. If over half of the students don’t grasp the content than the root of the issue must be on the way they are being taught. If this was the case the teacher will probably have to take a different approach on the way he/she is teaching in order to ensure the success of all students and not just a few of them. A controversial issue in the criminal justice field is whether or not educational programs should be offered to inmates in jail while they are incarcerated. While some might argue that taxpayers should not be forced to fund these types of programs, others agree that it is extremely beneficial to not only the inmates but also the taxpayers.
