I do not think people are born evil, but I don’t think they are born good either, the way the person acts is mostly on their parents, where they live, and their self.
Parents are an important thing in a person’s life. The parents are usually the first influence on the baby. The way a baby could grow into an evil person is on how their parents treat them, if the parents treat them badly they will have a tendency to become a bad person. If the parents are kind and treat them with care, they will have tendencies to become a good person.
The place where someone lives also affects their nature. If they live in a bad place where there are shootings, gangs, drug dealers, they will probably start acting like them. If it’s a good place where everybody
is friendly,polite, and kind to each other they would probably act like them and be kind. The last thing that controls whether or not someone is evil or good depends on their self, this is the largest influence on most people. The mind is what controls the person, the person could have had, nice friends, nice neighborhood and nice parents, but he could still throw all that away and become evil. Same with the other side.So being evil or not mostly depends on the person. Nobody is only evil or only good, everybody has a piece of each. I remember reading this short story called “A Story of Two Wolves” The author is unknown. An old Cherokee told his grandson, “My son, there is a battle between two wolves inside us all. One is Evil. It is anger, jealousy, greed, resentment , inferiority, lies & ego. The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, humility, kindness, empathy, & truth.” The boy thought about it, and asked, “Grandfather, which wolf wins?” The old man quietly replied, “The one you feed.” This story is about choosing to be good, or evil. It really gets me thinking being good or evil just depends on the person, and the influences in their life.
The lines that define good and evil are not written in black and white; these lines tend to blur into many shades of grey allowing good and evil to intermingle with each another in a single human being. Man is not inherently good or evil but they are born innocent without any values or sense of morality until people impart their philosophies of life to them. In the words of John Locke:
Good and evil make the world we are living in today. However evil stands out more than good and people tend to focus on the evil behavior of humans more often. Human nature tends to decide that if someone looks evil they will be evil. The good and the bad make up the goodness in life. It is impossible to always be good or evil but there are things that can make us better or worse as a person. For one to be free, one must live in a world of evil and good.

This is just one of the infinite examples of how human nature has been explored by so many different people. Each and every human is born with the capability of making their own choices. The decisions that they will make in the future will determine how evil they are viewed by others. Although one’s nature and nurture do affect their life, it is their own free will that determines whether or not they are evil.
In the world of the living, evil is not inherent and can change or influence a person’s aspect of the world based on the community they are in. Evil is the force of things that are morally wrong and the matter of suffering, wrongdoing and misfortune (Merriam Webster). Evil is not inherent because an evil community can change or influence a person’s way of thinking, can consume people the more they are relinquished to it, and can mold a person when a person has power or feel a certain way. Furthermore, evil can be claim as not inherent from reading about Josef Mengele, Stanley Milgram, and the Stanford Prison Experiment. I will persuade my point that evil is not inherent from the sources that depicts the claim of evil.
All humans are capable for evil just as all humans are capable of good. The capacity for evil does not make a person bad just as the capacity for good does not necessarily make a person good. We all are capable of evil but that does not mean we do evil things. It would be ludicrous to assume that there is a person who is not capable of evil because we are capable of evil through just by existing. Are humans naturally good or evil? This age-old question dates back to as early as the Chinese Dynasty and is still being argued to this day. Thomas Hobbes believed that all humans were born cruel, that they began cheating others to benefit themselves. Whereas, John Locke believes that humans are born good and pure, but become evil based on experiences and obstacles in life. In my opinion, all humans are born good and become cruel based on their experiences. I feel this way because when you look at a new born baby, they are seeing the world for the first time, and although they are screaming and crying, they are pure. In my opinion, parents are the result of a young person’s actions. Parents or caregivers have the biggest influence in their children's lives. I think that the way you raise your children will reflect who they become and their morals. Growing up, a child learns by copying what their parents do for example for me, I got the habit of biting my nails from my mother. Cooking, cleaning, driving, are taught to us by our parents, therefore; children learn to carry on those skills they learn and use them in the future.
The parent’s behaviours have a strong influence on the children in their family. A parent’s behavior can affect children long-term positivity if they provide a functional family or negatively if they provide a dysfunctional atmosphere. Certain things have to go wrong in the family in order for the family to turn dysfunctional. Children learn to grow up a lot faster if they have deficient parents. Deficient parents require a lot of emotional support, as they are not able to provide any for their children. By being forced to mentally care for their parents, while they are not fully emotionally developed has a negative effect on children’s emotional development. This leads to the failure to fulfill their parent’s emotional needs thus creating the feeling of guilt that remains in the children’s adult years.
For example, kids that grew up in a lovely and caring environment may see the world as a good and safe place. Our adult behavior reflects what we experience during our childhood. If a child had a father that would beat their mother, they're most likely to become an abuser towards people or a bully in school. Grown-up kids who had been abused or raped in their childhood, their emotions and life will be affected when they grow up and they're most likely to not being able to control their emotions. Parents play an important role in their kid's life, actually a big percentage of the education we receive as a child is the reason for our adult behavior. Parental relationship may alter a child's intimacy with others as an adult. When it comes to the essentials that are best to the development of a child and emotional well-being, a good parenting is important. On the contrary, hurtful and traumatic events in the childhood will cause them to grow up with low self-esteem, feeling worthless or hopeless and those experience will stay with them for the rest of their

Also that parent’s have the upmost influence on their children, and children imitate what they see, hear, or accomplish. I believe that Man is born evil, but he is taught the way of right from wrong from his parents. Man today has the opportunity to choose from good, or evil. Unfortunately, in today’s era, we have built nations that have the will to supersede others, which clouds their judgment on what is good or bad. This has led to the great famines of man. Man is inherently evil because of war, avarice, and envy.
Are human beings born to be good? Or are we naturally born to be evil? A person’s nature or essence is a trait that is inherent and lasting in an individual. To be a good person is someone who thinks of others before themselves, shows kindness to one another, and makes good choices in life that can lead to a path of becoming a good moral person. To be a bad person rebels against something or someone thinking only of them and not caring about the consequences of their actions. My position is humans are not by nature evil. Instead, they are good but influenced by the environment and societies to act in evil ways to either harm others or themself.
Ethics serves as a vital crux of society. We learn them through our interactions with others as we progress through life. They provide a moral system for us to go by as we interact and participate among the populace. Ethics guides our decisions, define our temperament and influence our future. As sentient beings, we are able to make choices about what we say and do as well as understanding somewhat the effects of our actions. Therefore, it is my belief that no one has or ever will be born inherently good or evil. Instead, it is life experiences and observations made whilst growing and developing which shape the mental state, causing our perception of what is moral and what is immoral.
