“I work in pediatrics. Getting a child to laugh is one of the most rewarding things i’ve ever experienced.” My favorite thing ever is seeing a little child laugh, especially when it is caused by myself. College should chose me because I am an overachiever, being a pediatrician means saving a little kids life, and Ohio State University is the best school to help me reach my goal. My little brother was in the hospital since the day he was born until he was about 2 ½ years old. He still goes to Nationwide Children's hospital when he needs to go get a check up or is sick. Seeing all the nurses that helped my little brother live, is what made me want to be a pediatrician. Also, when I help the children’s life and make them better, seeing them smile, and seeing the family is what I am looking forward to the most. Lastly, when I am having a bad day at work I can just look back on the kids smiles and it will make my day so much better. A college that will help me reach my goal is Ohio State University in Columbus. Ohio State University is my first choice in college to produce my main goal in life. Ohio State is the 31st best medical school in the United States. Also, I want to move away from Lima but, not far away because I will miss my friends and family that I leave behind. Ohio State is 88 miles from my house so, if I do need my parents it is not a too far of a drive. Lastly, I have always been an Ohio State fan and watching the fans on TV when they play football has made always want to be a
The main component I look for in college is their commitment to further my studies. I feel this college will provide an ingenious culture within the science field, therefore rendering myself with the building blocks necessary to later pursue the medical field. Not only does UNCW devote itself towards their student’s undergraduate years, but also by providing Professional pathways such as Pre-Medicine, students such as myself can go into Professional schools better prepared. In addition to my interest in the academics the school has to offer, I also marvel at the amount of extracurricular activities available to the student body. One student organization in particular is the Greek Life. When my mother attended this school, she was an avid member
My first experience with children was when I would babysit younger kids. Caring for them while they were sick brought a sense of joy nursing them back to health. After doing this for so long, I grew a passion for taking care of children as a profession. I want to help kids feel better and watch them grow into world-changing individuals, so that is why I chose Pediatric Nurse Practitioner as my career. With this goal in mind, the University of Pennsylvania is the ideal school for me to explore and master this field of knowledge.
I have always been interested in working with children. Becoming a teacher has always been a potential career path for me; however, I recently discovered the position of a child life specialist which has further broadened my interest for a future career. Although they are not educators in school, they are extremely important since they are the educators for children and their families to help overcome difficult and/or challenging life events. As a child life specialist I will be teaching children and families in hospitals how to cope with their diagnoses, how a surgery day will go, how certain lifestyles will have to change, and much more.
I believe that I will be academically successful at Ohio State because I have taken the time to realize what my career goals are. When I graduated from high school in 1996, I really had no idea what career path I wanted to pursue. So I listened to a lot of wise people who pointed out the things that I was good at. I entered Ohio University as an Engineering major and later switched to Industrial Technology. After many years in college I found I was not successful at the things I had previously been successful at. I realized that what I was studying really did not interest me. I actually didn’t like it at all. That was the point that I decided I had wasted enough time and money and I walked away from college.
Many people rush through their daily life without contemplating their actions, thereby missing vast opportunities for achievement. They waste valuable time engaging in frivolous matters instead of putting their energies towards more productive and meaningful purposes. In the words of the Dalai Lama: “Life is not about acquiring money and other facilities; it is about dedicating your life to helping others as much as you can.” The immeasurable value of helping others has been engrained in me since childhood. As a result of my own difficult family circumstances, I have become more sensitive, kind and mindful towards others and their own situations. I have developed a passion for helping others, which, in combination with a proclivity towards medicine has lead to my descion to become a Physician Assistant. I want to live a life where I can provide healthcare and aid to anyone who needs.
“It always seems impossible until it’s done”. This quote from Nelson Mandela comes to mind when describing why I aspire to become a Physician Assistant. It has always been a great motivation and inspired me not to get discouraged with failure; rather look forward for your goals. Frequently, it takes many trials and lack of success as well as achievements, for one to truthfully discover him/herself. I instinctively progressed through the motions of life. Many options were available and choosing a career as I grew up kept altering, until one day when I saw how helping other people is my sole purpose of life. Getting to know more of physician assistant drove me into the thoughts of pursuing it as a career.
The first of these characteristics is my hard working mentality, and I am sure that this characteristic is thrown around a lot by candidates but I believe that I truly work harder than most people are willing to. I have had to earn every ounce of everything that I currently have. Whether it was finally getting into Pitt, or playing football at the DII college level the only reason I have ever been able to attain these achievements is that I put in the time, and worked harder than even I thought was possible for myself, I was never the most naturally gifted person in the world, I had to work hard, or I would not be in the position to even apply for a position such as this. Another thing that I feel differentiates myself is that I have experience in many different academic disciplines, I was not that student that simply took my major classes, and easy classes to get through school. I have taken and have a ton of interest in many different topics such as Political Science, and History. I feel that these multifaceted interests, and course history make me a great candidate for the

I have the innate ability to adapt to any situation, such as getting swarmed by customers.
I have known from an early age that I’ve wanted to become a doctor. Helping people has always been a passion of mine. When I was younger, I wanted to be a veterinarian. It’s been my desire, longing for a nursing career since I was in my primary and secondary school. At the age of 12, I began to look after children and baby-sitting then, from there, I gained the understanding of how to deal with children. Nursing is one of the highly demanding careers that bring new challenges every day and it comes with various rewards and a real sense of job satisfaction. I chose nursing because it is a profession where you never really finish learning. It has been my dream job since my tender age. Seeing nurses visiting my school treating students, immunisation, teaching us about health and sexual health issues, this encouraged me. My goal and desire at that age have been to help people within the Health sector. That is how; I decided to go to college where I am currently doing my Access to Higher Education Diploma (Science), which involves Biology and Chemistry.
