There are a lot of people that specialize in different fields. The field I would love to specialize is Criminal Justice. Criminal Justice is a very important field that is always in need of people to study in. The reason why our field is in need in the community is because of the constant rise of crime, criminals, and habitual offenders. The reason why I would love Criminal Justice is because I would love to give back to my community, the lack of law enforcement, and also make a change to the field and the offices of law enforcement. There are many reasons why I would like to major in Criminal Justice. The reason why I would like to major in Criminal Justice is because I would like to give back to my community. As I grow up, I realize that
Finding your calling in life can be one of the hardest things to do, for some it is obvious from a young age on what you want to do. For example, my mom has gone on a spree of jobs in her life and she has only recently found something that she actually wants to do. My dad on the other hand knew from a young age what he wanted to do, he liked to tinker and straight after he got out of highschool he knew that he wanted to be a mechanic, and he has stuck with that career path for more than 30 years now. I am currently undecided on what I want to do for the rest of my life, however one of the careers that I am looking at is a law enforcement officer.
Achieving academic excellence while obtaining my Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice is the first step towards becoming financially able to support my son by working as a law enforcement analyst. While working on my degree, I am determined to maintain my 4.0 GPA, a challenge that demonstrates my ability to learn and overcome obstacles, as well as. This commitment to maintaining my GPA requires me to work on having a positive attitude, as well as learn about discipline, self-management, and hard work, all which are beneficial to me in my field of work. I chose criminal justice because it requires thinking about and analyzing facts to solve crimes while helping and protecting people, something I have always felt strongly about. Since I was
If I was to become a probation officer, one thing I would want to be is efficient, and successful. There would be several things I would try to focalize my attention on; supervision in communities, and its importance. Probation officers have very complex, and hard job; but if done with the right intentions, and the will to help people you can help change people’s lives.
Examining why people commit crimes can be quite difficult because there can be a million reasons as to why a individual would want to commit an illegal act. Some people are forced to commit a crime with justified reasons, some people commit petty crime as a way of survival and some people commit crime for self-assurance purposes.
I was born to a mother name Kellie Edith .I lived in Akron Ohio my whole life. My mom always told me and my sibling’s education was importance to have if you want to be successful. Although my Father wasn’t around, I never wanted for anything. My mom made sure of that. That’s why I love her, she was always independent. For years I have prayed that God will find a way to put my missing pieces together. My parents tried to convince me to go to anger management for my behavior. I decided to go to Job Corps to better myself. My mother’s favor quotes to her kids was key to success is knowing that failing doesn’t make you a failure, so my child pickup your shoulder, never look back. I hold it in my mind all the time. Criminal profiling, first undertaken within the nineteen-seventies, has been used throughout thousands of police investigations from bureaus all over the globe, currently some question their practicality in police investigations. This essay argues the utility of offender profiling in police investigations. Police Investigations utilize Offender and Criminal Profiling methods because it narrows the field of investigation, needs diminutive physical evidence to begin investigations and uses victimology to predict future actions of the offender.
I have always taken an interest in Criminal Justice and crime prevention ever since middle school and I set out to make my career goal to become a Criminal Justice professional. Thus, pursuing a Criminal Justice master’s degree has been a part of my plans for the future and will become one of my core focuses that I will set up in my graduate studies. It will also enable me to become a more competent working professional and encourage me to advance towards the doctoral program.
Unlike Police Officers Police detective don’t have to wear a uniform. Police detectives gather facts and collect evidence from criminal cases. When detectives try to figure out a crime scene they collect all the evidence needed to help them figure out the truth about what happened and who was responsible. This includes making an exploratory and final investigation. Becoming a detective might be quite hard, unless you are good at what you are supposed to do.
Criminology as a genre is defined as the scientific study of crime, as well as its causes, law enforcement interaction, criminal behavior, and means of prevention. In its own way criminology is the history of humanity. As long as people have been on earth there has been criminal activity. Much like most other work atmospheres, it was a male dominated field. A woman seeking to work in criminology was unheard of. Men filled the jobs as police officers, lawyers, judges, and politicians. However, in the 1860s Belva Lockwood became determined to pave the way for women in criminology. As a women’s rights activist, she became one of the most influential women in criminology.
The media is a dominating aspect of American culture. The way the media depicts crime and criminal behavior has an effect on the way society views crime and criminals. Television series such as CSI, NCIS, Law and Order, Criminal Minds and countless others, have become very popular in our society today showing that our culture has an immense interest in crime. It is clear that there is a fascination with criminals and why they do the things they do. To analyze the way crime dramas represent crime and criminal behavior, I completed a content analysis of one episode of Criminal Minds. The episode I chose was season one; episode eight, which first aired in 2005, titled ‘Natural Born Killer’.
The two majors I decided to research were Criminal Justice and Secondary Education. The major I went into Oshkosh of declaring was Criminal Justice. I became interested in Criminal Justice after watching Criminal Minds and doing a ride-along with my aunt, who is a police officer in Sheboygan Falls. As far as Secondary Education, I have always loved being around kids. When I was young I played school with my sister. I’ve also loved math, it has always been my best subject. I am more interested in Secondary Education as of now, which is why I interviewed a middle school math teacher, but I am still interested in learning more about Criminal Justice because I still find it extremely interesting.
This goal is important to me because it can help me to become a police officer, be more prepared in my career and it can help me to get more money and advance to higher positions within that career. When I had to do my career interview I asked the detective that I was interviewing if it was necessary to have a degree to be a police officer and she said most of the people how have degrees do get more money on their paychecks and that if they were to try for a promotion having a degree can help but it wouldn’t really do much else. After that interview, I knew that I wouldn’t technically need a degree but I decided that I would still get it because I felt that it would help me to learn more about that career field and the laws that they don’t teach in the police academy. This goal has a lot to do with my strengths especially futuristic, adaptability and learner. This ties to futuristic because the decision to college was made in order to have better chances in the future, it ties to adaptability because I would have to adapt to the different challenges I can face when I go to college like the different teachers, classes, and workloads of each semester, and it ties to learner because since I love to learn new things going to college opens opportunities to learn about anything I wanted and take
I may pursuit a career working in recovery or something with the police force. I was informed that having Behavioral Health as my major I am able to combine my profession. If I decide that I would like to work in the criminal justice field along with another profession that goes hand in hand, then I can. It is nice to know that I am not subjected to stay with one profession. I am able to expand to different fields and build up my experiences and career. It may be a lot of work but at the end it is worth all the effort and dedication. My mind is not made up yet, hopefully by the time graduation is here I’ll have my mind made
What should we do in life? That always seems to be the question. Life is not guaranteed to be easy, never turning out the exact way that we want it to. A lot of people work hard to achieve their dreams of making a massive amount of money and having more than a seven percent return on their 401k plan. Truth is, life is not about the amount of money that we have saved up, it is about what we do to make a difference and how we will make our lifetime worth it. Something that people should set into place is a plan for their future. A plan that would help not only directs their path in life, but the paths of those around them too.
