What is too young to have a phone? Personally I think there is a age that is way too young to own a phone, like I would not recommend giving a 1 or 2 year old a phone because they are simply too young. There is some research showing that in 2015 a little over 72% of adults owned a phone at that time. An average of 62% of children between the ages of eight and eleven years old have a smartphone. One reason some parent give their kids so early is because some homes do not have a landline in their house. Another reason I have heard for young kids with phones is because of having a phone can be dangerous both ways, without a phone there is no way to call anyone if you needed help or to get into contact with family members. Phones can
One reason is because it helps parents have a sense of security with knowing where their children are at all times. For example, if your child goes to a friends house, a cell phone could be handy if in any case there is an emergency, you are able to contact your child right away or vise versa. Also, if a child moves from one place to another and his/her parent goes looking for them at the place he/she
The first five years of a child's life are the most influential and can change the rest of their life. We must be sure that we are giving them the information they need to be successful. They need to be learning to socialize and to be with those they love, not to stare at a cell phone all day and pretend that people in their lives are unimportant. Although cell phones allow parents to stay in contact with their children, there are times when it is appropriate to use and there are times when it is not. It shouldn't become such a large part of our lives that it prohibits us from enjoying the company of those around us.
1 The right age to get a cellphone is when you get 17 or 18 in high school. Some parents buy their child phones such as iphones, samsung, tracphone, and ipad for to call them when ever needed. Kids shouldn't have phones at the age of 6-15, because some kids just call people and then they phone bill need payed. The problem is that when kids have the phone with them in the class and it go off the teacher will take it.Some kids bring they phone to call their momma or grandpa at least they having an emergcy.
Even though the cell phone ownership among teens have been stable since 2011, the ownership of smart phone has grown significantly from 23% in 2011 to 37% in 2012. Figure 4 from a study on teens and technology, which was done in 2013 by the Berkman center for internet and society at Harvard University, shows the percentages of teens’ cell phones and smartphones ownership.
To begin with, cell phones are needed in school because a student can have an emergency. As teens get older they are becoming more independent. Often the only way that their parents can be sure that their kids are safe is by calling them. Imagine if there was a fire in a school and your child was the only one to know about it. He/she could call 911 or his/her parents.Or imagine if your child was stuck in the school while it was burning. He/she can call 911, her parents, or a nearby friends. Just like BubbiG(A user on Teenink) said: “Electroni...
Children under the age of thirteen and using electronic devices is not a good idea due to their innocence and how easily they can be manipulated. The way irritation is connected to the addictive quality is that it slowly develops a mental illness. Common illnesses include depression, anxiety and frequent anger issues. All of these facts tie together to show how children can be overpowered by cell phones at an inappropriate age. Someone may argue that children with phones would in fact be safer from such things because of the special feature of easy communication. A child could easily call or text an adult or parent they know when they need to. Such as situations when a they need to be picked up from an unsafe area, therefore getting rid of any stress or anxiety levels. Although communication is very important for a young child’s safety, they should not have to constantly depend on their cell phones to relieve them of stress or anxiety. They should feel free to talk with a group of friends or an adult they trust and feel comfortable with. This is one way to quickly form an addictive, yet unhealthy
In fact, many school districts have decided to lift the ban on the use of cell phones in schools because of “the role cell phones have played in some emergency situations” ("Cell Phones in the Classroom” ). Moreover, parents could be easily in touch with their children, know their whereabouts through mobile communication, and therefore it would allay parents’ concerns (Cohen). For instance, lots of parents have claimed that they have to stay in touch with their children in case of “another crisis like 9/11” ("Cell Phone Debate").... ... middle of paper ... ...
First, safety is the biggest issue for parents. A kid having a cell phone can call home or emergency services when trouble arises. It also gives the parent the ability to locate their whereabouts with GPS features. Also, if kids are lost, hurt, scared, or witnessing an incident, the phone is there for them. Life is getting more difficult and it is essential for a kid to carry a cell phone with them at all times for their safety and the parent’s peace of mind.
Firstly, cell phones are a useful object when needed in an emergency. When parents need to contact their kids, they have access to talk with them on their cell phones. People say "But there's a phone in the office", So? What if office staff are out for lunch? What if the emergency happens at their parent’s workplace?
... phone use causes young people to have less concentration and being less able to focus. The facts that have been stated in this research paper shows enough facts that cell phone use has a great effect on young people’s life. Sooner or later the cell phone use may become a major problem in school, so parents need to regulate all use of cell phones.
With so many school shootings and terrorist attacks happening, cell phones are a necessity to help you feel safe (Higgins). With a cell phone handy, if something were to happen there would be ways for you to call 911 and get help. In Higgins article, Dan Domenech says, “This trend first emerged after the 9/11 terrorist attack.” Many people like to have a way of communication and a type of security to make them feel safe. In Higgins article, Dan Domenech continues, “The issue of security and red alerts on terrorism threats became an issue and school systems began to relax the prohibition on cell phones in school.” School shootings do not happen very often, but if and when they do students can be prepared to have the opportunity to call for help and explain what
Kids using cell phones and other tablets are becoming more and more distant from their parents, for the simple fact that the Kids are on the tablets/phones more often than they are with their parents, and as a child you need to bond with your parents and not a tablet/phone. Kids are becoming so used to playing on tablets/phones that they are not going outside and enjoying life as kids did when there was not technology.

I remember a classmate when I was in high school because he never talked to anybody. He spent most of his time on his cell phone or using his tablet, and he did not do well in school. He was different than my other classmates and I believe that he never felt comfortable in the classroom. Everybody knows that cell phones have changed peoples’ life dramatically. Cell phones are one of the most revolutionary advances in the last decades because they make things simpler and easier but cell phones have a strong impact on teenagers. Teenagers are in one of the most important phase in their lives because they are exploring the world and developing their capacities. I believe that cell phones have more negative than positives effects on teenagers for many reasons.
