The Constitution was created to make a more perfect union. I am an Anti-Federalist during the 1700’s living in the United States. Federalist are supporters of the Constitution. Federalists argued that the Constitution would create a national government. Anti-Federalist were people who disliked the new plan. Anti-federalist feared Congress would ruin the country with taxes. The Articles of Confederation was designed to make a perpetual union. The Constitution was created to make a strong national government. I support the Articles of Confederation. There were many strengths and weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation. “Each state retains its sovereignty, freedom, and independence(Articles of Confederation Handout).” This is a strength because each individual state has their own rights. “The Constitution would creates a national government that was strong enough to unite quarreling states(Hart 116).” This means that the Constitution can bring together fighting states.The Constitution will bring them together if they were fighting. “The president had power enough to rule like a king(Hart 116).” The Constitution was made to prevent a Monarchy. Also they were already under the rule of a king. I think the Constitution should be revised. I think it should be revised because it gives power to one person. “ The Constitution would create a national government(Hart 116).” Its means that it would be all through the country. The states just don't want it to become a monarchy. “No person shall be a representative who shall not have attained to the age of twenty-five, and been seven years a citizen of the US.(The Constitution).” Most of the people in the US can become a representative but they still serve one person.
