They believe in the holy books sent to all the prophets including Torah that was revealed to the prophet Moses, Bible that was reavealed to the prophet Jesus, and Qur'an that was revealed to the prophet Muhammad. They believe in all the prophets sent by God including Noah, Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad. The book lays the foundation of Islamic basic beliefs and practices. Muslims believe in one God, and feel their religion continues the Judaic and Christian traditions. Arab peoples "trace their origins to the patriarch Abraham, who, according to the Koran was neither Jew nor Christian, but a kind of universal ancestor of monotheists" (5). Thus, Muslims believe in the same God as Jews and Christians.

These teachings are said to have been revelations that Muhammad received that confirmed the God’s unity and the direct life in the world.

The worship of Allah is principal in a Muslim’s mind at all time. There are also five formal acts of worship which help strengthen a the faith and obedience of a Muslim. There is one thing I noticed when I started writing my essay in the research Muslims set themselves apart from anyone else. Muslims reject the Christian doctrine of the Trinity and divinity of Jesus, comparing it to polytheism. In Islam, God is beyond all comprehension or equal and does not resemble any of his creations in any way. Muslims are not allowed to visualize God as per the Quran. Furthermore referring to Islamic theology makes a very specific distinction between God and the divine essence. One of the fundamentals of Islam is that God exist without a place in which he comes from and he has no body.
In their creed, Muslims believe in six articles: to believe in God, in the angels, the Books, the prophets, eschatology, and predestination. As with Christians with regard to their Nicene Creed, when a Muslim calls aloud with inner conviction the “Al-shahâda” (profession of faith) that person is a Muslim, who is one who is submitted to God: “There is no god but God (Allah), and Muhammad is the messenger of God.” As opposed to the Christian view, Muslims believe in a truly transcendent God who could never take to himself a son, “And say, "Praise to Allah , who has not taken a son and has had no partner in [His] dominion and has no [need of a] protector out of weakness; and glorify Him with [great] glorification.”
Islam is one of the world's greatest monotheistic religions. The followers of Islam are known as Muslims, and they believe in God, Allah. The word "Islam" is an Arabic word that means "submitting and surrendering your will to Almighty God.” The word comes from the same root as the Arabic word "salam” which means peace. Islam is the religion of about one and half billion people in the world. It is the second largest in the number of followers after Christianity. I chose this religion as a topic of my research paper because at high school in my world history class I read few things about this religion like God is one, men can have four wives, etc and those sound interesting to me, so I want to learn more about this religion.
Muslims believe that God is the one and only and the reason of their existence as stated in the Qu’ran. Muslims believe that God or as know in Islam, Allah created everything. Allah is the reason of existence of everything in the universe and the purpose of being. The purpose of an Islam is to worship Allah, to love and be selfless with others. (islamicsupremecoucil.com) All people are created equal and there is no one better than another no matter their race, religions and nationality. No matter how different the person is no one is to be judged on factors they could not choose such as gender, color and size. (islamicsupremecoucil.com) Islam is a religion that is peaceful and does not believe in the discrimination against others. They find that all life is sacred no matter the differences. Muslims follow a peaceful religion for the betterment of themselves and others in the society, this is called jihad. Jihad has many different meaning to the western world and to the Muslims. In the recent years jihad, has been misinterpreted due to the modern world and certain Islamic Groups, who have interpreted jihad in a negative way.
...ethics, and so forth. The crucial piece of information to remember about this religion is that they greatly emphasis unity and have a great amount of diversity. Even though it is a diverse religion, all of the Muslims are monotheistic and solely believe that Allah is the creator of everything, including humans. As a human being they believe that they are in debt to God or simply stated as according to Seyyed Hossein Nasr, “Therefore, all that we are and all that we have belongs to God for which we are indebted to Him and for whose gifts we must give thanks (shukr)” . God is the Absolute and the main point of the Islamic religion is that it is crucial to worship him and follow his commands, and that will lead to peace among everyone. This particular religion has continued to rapidly grow throughout the world and as with most religions, it will continue to grow.
