To begin my shopping experience I had to decide where I was going to purchase London Calling by The Clash. I decided to purchase the album online in digital format because I did not want to go on a bus to find a music store to purchase this album. Also, I knew that if I bought the album on a CD from an online retailer I would have to wait a couple of days before I could listen to the CD. I wanted instant gratification, therefore, I knew that a digital copy from an online store was the way to go. Next, I had to select where I would purchase the album online. There are multiple online stores to purchase music from and the three online stores that I use the most often are iTunes, Amazon MP3, and Google Play. I proceeded to go to all three sites and search for the album. I found the album at all three online stores and compared the prices. At Google Play the album was sold for $13.99, which was the same as Amazon MP3. However, at iTunes it was only $7.99. Instantly, I knew that I would be purchasing the album from iTunes since I would save six dollars and I also had $25 in gift cards to spend at iTunes.
When I first opened iTunes on my computer some advertisements caught my attention. The advertisement that caught my attention the most was one that said “Classic Rock Hits $7.99 Albums”. This advertisement encouraged me to look in that section that had classic rock hits for only $7.99 and I found another album, Blood on the Tracks by Bob Dylan, that I also wanted to purchase. Another advertisement that caught my attention said “Hit Songs 69¢”. I also clicked on this advertisement because I thought that 69¢ for a song was a great deal. I found three songs that I thoroughly enjoyed; therefore, I also purchased them. Thir...

...ore I purchased the album. The song previews fully convinced me to purchase the album. There were only two songs, out of the 19 songs on the album, “Four Horseman” and “Lover’s Rock”, which I did not like, mainly because of the rhythms. However, the final song on the album, “Train in Vain”, was the song that convinced me the most because I was entertained by the rhythm and lyrics of the song. I decided that even though there were two songs I disliked on the album it was still worth it to purchase the album for the other 17 songs. After purchasing the album, I realized how much advertisements, cover art, customer ratings, and song previews affected my purchase. Due to the advertisements alone I spent an extra $35 dollars that I did not plan on spending. The cover art, customer ratings, and song previews all had an effect on convincing me to purchase the album.
This album has a bit of each of the necessary elements to becoming a hit. In fact, it has
...t of people around you. The images are really helped clarify what the singer really wants to talk about. Without the images in the video some many things could have been interpreted from the song itself. Before I watched the video I just thought the author was talking about war, and specially the wars America was fighting at the time of the song’s release. The music in combination with the instrumentals and video create a piece of art that enlightens the soul.
The song though, is not very memorable. “What If I’m Right” reminds me strongly of their old sound. This song plays heavily off of a repeating chorus which is very catchy. It has the most memorable chorus out of all of the tracks, and is also a personal favorite. “Take a Bow” is the eighth song, and is a filler track. The only thing that makes it interesting is the violin chords. There is not much more to say about it, except that it is extremely forgettable, and is my least favorite song. “Relax, Relapse” is all about anger and failure. The bridge has Matthews sounding like as if he is going to mentally collapse. His desperate screams in the bridge adds to the strong emotion evoked in the song. Unfortunately, it is my second least favorite song, as it is not very memorable either. “Second Guessing” is the tenth track and is the softer, redeeming song on the album. After listening to such dark themes, it gives the listener a much needed reminder of hope and purpose. The piano and lead guitar makes the song stand out because it gives it more of a rock sound. Last, the closing track, “R.I.P.,” is a strong song to conclude the album. The group chants in the song are actually apart of the song rather than background. It gives it a unique sound compared to the rest of the album. It makes the band sound more
The first song played was from a genre that I had previously taken a test on, Sonata. The musicians played the song by the book. There were three movements and polyphonic texture. It was even fast and jerky. Nonetheless, this is the part where my rollercoaster was going down. In my opinion it was boring. Although very well played, the song itself did not interest me. I did not like the roadrunner, coyote essence of the song. The piano accompaniment would sometimes play the melody and let the clarinet follow and then they would switch. This to me seemed force instead of like the Sonatas that I listened to in class. However, apart from the musical aspect of the first piece there was a certain intensity expressed by the performers. I had never seen a
An “analyst” was quoted in the case (in 2002) as saying that “people will pay for music on the Internet, eventually.” This person was skeptical of the willingness of consumers to pay for
Emotional intensity, infectious melodies and passionate lyrics make for extremely compelling music; this album definitely had all three. The album’s melodic and lyrical magic that exuded from Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Christine McVie, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks left me mesmerized. When these sincere artists combined their vocal harmonies and surreal songwriting with their emotionally driven revelations of love, loss, heartbreak and turmoil, one of the ultimate classic albums emerged.
Music is a funny thing. I’ve listened to music all my life, thousands of songs, hundreds of artists. But only a few stick out; like my first real album (Tiffany’s self titled release. What ever happened to her?), or my first alternative album (the Red Hot Chili Pepper’s Blood Sugar Sex Magik: I bought it on tape when I was 14 and listened to it so much that it wore out). Only one has become a part of who I am, the Dave Matthews Band’s Crash. Somewhere between its "So Much To Say" and "Proudest Monkey" my indifferent hearing turned into awareness, and I stopped listening with just my ears and started listening with my heart.

In today’s evolving and changing society, many people do not appreciate how extraordinary music truly is. Since the birth of the vinyl record, there are less people who own and are interested in them. Even though vinyl records have recently been making a comeback, they are still not as popular as they once were. People take for granted how easily accessible music is today though in the past it was not as simple. Even though vinyl records may be costly and may not have a large quantity of songs, as time progresses and technology continues to develop, the way that people listen to music degrades their appreciation for music due to easier accessibility, weaker sound in terms of quality, and decaying genres.
In addition, I value advertisements that are not geared toward just sales. Personally, when an advertisement is all about making the sale it turns me away from the product. I do like CoverGirl’s ad a little more than I did, however if I had to choose between Maybelline and CoverGirl I would still go with Maybelline. Knowing CoverGirl made an emotional connection with the delicious lipstick and relating it to the delicious ice cream was clever and I appreciate it. Nevertheless, my feeling on the overwhelming effect of being crowded still stands
Back in the early 1980’s, record labels controlled what people could hear through airplay, record distribution and manufacturing, and selective promotion of music based on their judgement of their audience. An artist’s only feasible option was to go through this system. To obtain music of high quality, people had to buy vinyl singles or albums or tape, and later, only CDs. There was no practical way to listen to music before buying it without listening to or taping off the radio. Music was very restricted by several different record companies.
I’m shocked that this song took six months to make. It says that this song was avoiding the glam and stadium rock to establish a personal connection with the audience and the performer. The song touches the audience soul and creates a feeling of enthusiastic. If I were to see Bruce Springsteen perform the song live, I would feel the connection in the performance of this song. Pink Floyd and their song creations are very different.
This might appear obvious to many shoppers. But I believe multitudes of people purchase items without ever considering what they buy could be found elsewhere for less money. Even I am guilty of assuming that Walmart has the best prices on everything. If I take a small amount of time to search for a specific coffee maker, I can find the large chain store 's prices such as Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and Sears, along with other smaller retailers. (In some cases smaller stores ' prices are lower.) Many stores price match, so if I prefer to shop at Walmart because I live close to one, I can have them match the competing retailers lower price. Also, many retailers provide free shipping on online orders totaling a certain amount. Therefore, if physically visiting the store with the lowest prices is not feasible, shoppers can order items online for no extra charge. However, ordering from brick-and-mortar stores—physically or online—is not always the best option. Websites such as Amazon and eBay have millions of items from multiple sellers. Sellers will compete with each other for the lowest price, often providing shoppers with a price lower than those of larger stores. Regardless of how and where you purchase your items, taking time to shop around is a wise
Lately, I’ve been having a lot online shopping experiences. I usually buy from websites with a huge variety of sellers to be sure that I get the best price. When you’re looking for the best price, it requires research. The best price is more often found online, but not always. Online merchants will sometimes sell you an item for double the retail price. When the price isn’t doubled, it may be the same price plus shipping costs. Therefore, you still won’t have the best price. This item could possibly be on sale in retail stores.
After the show had ended, I felt slightly empty. I had waited years and months for that night, and it was over in the blink of an eye. Although I was sad that the show was over, I felt completely content. Now, when I hear their songs, I get to remember what it felt like to hear the band perform them live. I can watch the videos and try to wrap my mind around how it was real. Going to my first concert was an unparalleled experience that I will always cherish. The ambiance, the band’s performance and the unity the audience
