I would say that the person who influenced me at my placement was really my supervisor, Mrs. Barber. She is a very successful teacher whom i respect greatly and really look up to. She helped influence me by always encouraging me to help in the elass, and helped me to learn to take initiative. She was always helping me to learn new things, and allowed me to see the kids grow and learn, and help to teach me new things by pushing me outside my comfort zone.
I was able to acquire so many new skills while at my placement. I learned time management skills, as i was required at times to help the students with a task, but be done by the bell or when it was time to switch subjects. I also learned the technical skill of learning to work her interactive board, and learning to photocopy work, and even forms that went school wide. I learned to be more patient as i was faced with a child

I was able to see them happy and unfortunately sad as well. It was very valuable to me for the future to have that experience working with children with disabilities such as autism and attention disorders as i feel a lot of teachers font have the experience and therefore don't know how to deal with the children which isn't fair to that child.
My greatest strength at the placement was definitely my communication. I was able to take my communication skills and turn them into my strength, as i needed to communicate well with the students and my co0workers.
This placement definitely had a very positive effect on my future career plans. It allowed mnw to be educated on what my future holds education wise, and helped me make the decision to stay into the elementary stream of teaching. It has also proved my reasoning to become a teacher and has double assured me that teaching IS in fact what i want to commit my life
This semester in Child Development has helped me a great deal. I came into this class wanting to be a Child Development teacher at the high school level. I am leaving this class with the same ambition to become a Child Development teacher. I have learned so much by taking this class and I know it will all be helpful in the future once I am standing at the front of a classroom. Also, just by watching the way Mary teaches the class, I have learned things that I want to take into my own style of teaching.
My five strengths according to the strength finder include; balance, this helps me be aware of treating all people equally regardless of the situation. I am neither in anyone 's favor or against anyone as this to me is selfishness and individualism. This would result in a situation where some people scale heights due to connections while others are lagging behind. I believe that a consistent environment where the rules apply to everyone is the best for individuals to function best (Rath, 2007). Flexibility is my next strength. By knowing that things do not always work out as planned has helped me change the tactics of how I perform my tasks. I do not always expect to have a smooth flow of opportunities or accomplish goals, but
In closing, my time in the kindergarten autistic support room has opened my eyes to say the least. I have a greater understanding and respect for these children and teachers. I have seen many teachers and aids with my work as a case manager but I have not seen a better teacher as Mrs. F. I was fortunate and lucky to work with such an experienced professional in the field to help lay my foundation for my future role as a school psychologist.
My next major influence was my first grade teacher. I remember most of that school year was spent on Martin Luther King Jr. That was the first time I had learned about racism, and what had happened in the past to blacks, amongst others. That school year had a great impact on me and it has changed me ever since to treat all people fairly, no matter what color, sex, intelligence level, social class, etc. This experience has taught me the meaning of democracy, and how to practice it.
The most influential teacher I had was my senior year English teacher, Charlotte Sarnowski. She was a hard-working teacher who earned the respect of all students, regardless of their academic ability. As a native New Yorker who was transplanted to what was at that time a small southern town, Mrs. Sarnowski was different from many of the other teachers at my high school. I truly enjoyed her class because she challenged how I thought. Mrs. Sarnowski was an inspirational teacher to me because she saw all students as learners, set high expectations, and challenged our small-town mindsets.
learned the different methods of teaching with a diverse class of exceptional students. I have
This really helped in assisting them doing their work and it also helped me keep them focused on their task at hand. I also gained more empathy and awareness on how we need to treat our students fairly and without prejudice. I believe that this experience has made me grow as an educator and made me realize how I need to understand the complexity of human behavior and understand my own behavior to be successful in the
1. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Child Development and Family Relations at East Carolina University. This December I will complete my graduate studies in the Communication Sciences and Disorders program at North Carolina University. During my undergraduate studies, I had to the opportunity to assist clients with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) at the Autism Society of North Carolina as a summer camp instructor and community skills instructor.
A teacher that has had the most impact on me would have to be my current Human Services instructor Teresa. I’m sure there have been other teachers in my past that at the time were the most impactful. I think that’s what makes them impactful in the first place, because of the time of your life or what you were trying to find in a sense helped shaped you at that time, and that includes those people that helped along the way. Teresa has been the most impactful has of late, because she has helped me fall in love with my major and has me looking forward to my future job. The Human Service major was new at my campus, and the school had hired a couple of different instructors to teach the classes the first semester. I happened to be one of the lucky
This placement has helped me ensure that the path I have been following seems to be right for me. I was hesitant to apply for mechanical engineering at Carleton due to how hands on it looked during tours but as the paragraph above states, these doubts have been cleared up. But this knowledge hasn’t made everything better; I have been accepted to computer science at Carleton but haven’t
My strength in this competency is being able to apply theories during the assessment stage. If I am working with a family, I may use systems theory to help me better understand their group dynamics. Another strength I have is being
I am a junior at Princeton University where I am pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a certificate in History and the Practice of Diplomacy. As someone with a knack for economic research and an interest in working for the federal government, I hope to have the opportunity to join the Economic Research Service as a student trainee this summer. Studying economics in the classroom as well as working with a professor on economic research has made me want to pursue a career in economic consulting, and I am confident that I possess all the skills necessary to be a successful intern at the Economic Research Service. I am zealous and passionate about all my endeavors, and I am sure that my can-do attitude in addition to my experience with objective problem solving in both professional and academic settings make me an excellent candidate for this internship.
Compared to my competitors, my strengths are my languages, technology skills, education, work ethic and the ability to follow directions. Work ethic is another one of my personal strengt...
What were your strengths at this career fair or in preparing for it? Include at least two. • I could only attend the career fair briefly because of a scheduling conflict that arose that day. One of the strengths that I noticed that I had when preparing for the event is, I didn’t psych my self out. Usually in situations where I know that I am going to be under pressure, I tell my self that I can’t do it, but this time everything in my mind was positive.
One of my greatest strengths at work that I have recognized would have to be my ability to be a well-organized individual. I tend to write what I have to do down on paper and prioritize what is more important to least important. In doing this, it helps me organize and accomplish my work and meet deadlines that are important. A personal strength that I have at home is patience. I am a mother of a beautiful three year old little girl who is a handful. Patience is my greatest strength as a parent and individual which I possess especially being a single mother. I am a dedicated and hard working mother and I always make sure that my daughter gets the love and attention she needs.
