Spirituality for those that are religious can be your connection with God, for those that are not religious it may be the connection with nature or family. Spirituality can give a person a healthy connection to others, as well as a healthier lifestyle for example drinking or smoking less, strength during times of stress. Spirituality can help you be more optimistic thus making for lessened anxiety and depression as well as fewer suicides and a greater chance for stability in marriage.
