Some people are born with it, others are not so lucky. It’s the feeling of raw bravery and a want to be the best. A way of always seeing the light even before the dawn. People often mistake it for just “never giving up”, but this is much more, almost a superpower. Perseverance is not just the optimisty of dreamers it’s knowing how to live, even when you’d rather be dead. Anne Frank is a perfect example of perseverance. Raised as prey and caught in crossfire, she kept her guard up and made a life for herself. Trapped in the attic like a lost hoard of house mice, her and her makeshift family lived cramped together. While the other moped, she never lost sight of what she wanted, she never gave up hope. Anne could have given up, could
have lost herself in the cluttered attic, but instead she did what she wanted. She wrote everything down, all the war and violence, and now even in her death, she is what she’s always wanted to be, a writer. Nick Vujicic, the boy with no limbs. Born an outcast, a freak, Nick couldn’t catch a break. He felt useless and depressed so alone in the world. So nick realised he didn’t need to touch the world with his hands to change it, he could change the people through words. Through many speeches and lectures, Nick slowly became the face of love and acceptance. Nick kept a smile on his face and confidence in his heart to achieve his dreams even when the world laughed in his face. Elvis Presley grew up in a small, two bedroom home, with his parents. His twin brother was stillborn leaving Elvis an only child. Growing up in the poor side of town, Elvis presley never thought he’d amount to anything. Later on, he received a guitar for his 11th birthday. Nobody can just pick up a guitar and sound amazing, that just common sense, so through patience and time, lots of time, Elvis became the King of rock from humble beginnings. Having faith and confidence in yourself even when no one else does is having perseverance. When everyone laughs at your dreams and you laugh at them, smashing expectations, and laughing in the face of you diversities, is the best way to follow your dreams. Having perseverance can be the difference in having a dream and living one.
Have you ever wondered what it’s like to live during World War 2? Life during World War 2 was torture if you were jewish, especially if you were a kid. Felix Salingar from Then by Morris Gleitzman and Anne Frank both knew what it was like. Their stories both describe the lives of jewish children hiding from the Nazis, in fear of being taken and killed. Throughout both of their stories, many character traits were discovered about them that show how they are similarly affected by the events in their stories. Anne Frank and Felix Salingar have many similarities, some of which stand out more than others.
Jews. He took it upon himself and Miep to give the two families in hiding
Even though Anne Frank and Elie Wiesel lost some of their family members, they still stayed strong and went into the situations head first. Anne never got liberation, but she deserves it because of all the people she helped out. Both Elie and Anne always cared about others and not
In Bettelheim's essay, The Ignored Lessons of Anne Frank, he criticizes Anne Frank's father because of the way he had his whole family hiding out in the attic of one family. Bettelheim claims he is not criticizing Mr. Frank, he just wants his readers to reexamine the way we read history. In his essay, Bettelheim concinced me that we, as readers should look again at the text and realize all the possibilities that the Franks had.
How would you feel if you were a Jew in World War II? Anne Frank was a Jew in World War II. The play we read was called the diary of Anne Frank. She said, "In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart." According to the diary she believed in the quality in people even after hardships her family has endured. Anne Frank had to go into hiding from Hitler because he wanted to kill all of the Jews. He thought that they should not be allowed to practice their religion. Because of this, she had to go into hiding for two years. Here are some ways she showed her belief that people were good at heart. The first reason is she thought of different ways to make her family happy in the darkest of times. The second reason is Mr. Van Daan stole bread to feed himself. The third reason was she found someone to talk to even when she was trapped for two years. She was believing in everyone else as they were breaking down in fear.
A life in darkness is probably something that could describe Anne Frank’s life. As I dove deeper into the pit of fire known as the holocaust I realized many things. One, Hitler was a deranged maniac. Two, the Jewish community will probably never recover from those horrific events. Finally, I learned that despite everything that happened, Anne still saw the good in the world. "In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart." This was one of the last things written in Anne's diary. Even though those grievous events took place somehow Anne Frank still saw that people still had good in them even the Nazis.
The Merriam Webster Dictionary defines perseverance as the continued effort to do or achieve something despite difficulties, failure, or opposition. In today’s society, there are so many walls and barriers that prevent humans from achieving their dreams and goals and people begin giving up. However, great poets such as Homer and famous music groups such as Mumford and Sons have used the strife of humanity to compose works that can be used to inspire and institute hope for humanity. With perseverance, there are three key aspects, struggle, loyalty, and strength. The struggle is what allows humans to learn, grow, and better themselves, the loyalty demonstrated provides motivation for success, and the personal strength allows the person to build
To begin with, Florence Welch used perseverance to stay on her path. First, with her rough childhood, many kids would have given up on school. Tragically, Jeff
What is the authors’ purpose of these two literary works? Reading “Anne Frank: A Diary of a Young Girl” by Anne Frank and “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer” by Mark Twain gives readers a few ideas of similar contrasts to compare these two books, even though, Anne Frank’s book is nonfiction and Mark Twain’s book is fiction. Anne Frank’s book is a biography about her life in hiding away from the world. This was once a diary, which has events of what she had felt, done, and thought that her father found after the war and was later edited and published into this book. Mark Twain’s book was for purely sentimental value and entertainment. “Out of the heart of Mark Twain into the hearts of the world”, this was a quote about Twain’s book by one of the readers.
Anne Frank was a young girl who suffered and just had a hard life. She was 13 years old girl who had to go into hiding. Some Jews had to go into hiding or they had to go to a concentration camp. Jews were treated badly back in time. If you were a jew and you were seen the Nazis’ would take you away to a concentration camp to work. But sometimes you could be killed in a gas chamber, or killed from a disease or die from starvation. Anne for her birthday got a journal from her father Otto Frank. And she wrote in it every day. A few months after she started writing in the journal someone had called the Nazis’ the Anne was in hiding. The Nazis’ come and took the Franks’, Van Daans’, and Mr. Dussel. When she was leaving for the concentration camp her dropped her journal. Miep found it and kept it until Anne came back. Miep wanted to keep until Anne came back but in the end Anne dies and Miep gives the journal to Anne’s father Otto Frank. A quote from Anne’s journal was “Despite everything, I believe that people are really good at heart”, I agree with her statement.
The Holocaust was a traumatizing time for specific people and these people are the innocent jewish. If you remember the most innocent of them all, you would remember Anneke Frank or Anne. She said this famous quote, ¨ In spite of everything , I still believe people are really good at heart .¨ I would most definitely agree with Anne Frank based on Peterś actions. Everyone does everything for a reason. We all have different beliefs, naturally, just as Hitler did. But, I could also see how some would disagree with Anne, considering Mr. Van Daanś selfish actions.
One of the courageous characters was Anne Frank. In 1942, when the Nazis were occupying Holland Anne and her family had no choice but to leave their home and go into hiding. They were accompanied by their close friends the Van Daans and Dr. Dussel. They struggled in the Secret Annex for two long years. The Secret Annex became their home for the last years of their life. Since they were not allowed to leave the building Anne wanted to make living in the Annex more enjoyable and normal. “She rushes into her room, hurriedly puts on a little hat improvised from the lampshade, grabs a satchel bulging with parcels and comes running back.”(Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett, pg 253) During the Jewish holiday Hanukkah, Anne decides that she wants

Without perseverance some of these people won’t know how to deal with their problem and just give up. This are some of the reasons on why people think perseverance is so important.
Anne Frank was a lovely, young girl who was forced to hide from the Nazis. She was born June 12, 1929, and lived in Frankfurt, Germany. Anne possessed many amazing traits. Anne always spoke her mind, had a creative imagination, and she was gracious. Many people, today, wish they had just one of these traits, but she had all three.
