The first piece presented in this concert was Robert Strauss’ Metamorphosen, Study for 23 Solo Strings a piece was composed during the last months of World War II, from August 1944 to March 1945, dedicated it to Paul Sacher. It was first performed in January 1946 with ten violins, five violas, five cellos, and three double basses, this was immolated in the performance by the Atlanta Symphony orchestra on April 13th that I attended. It is widely believed that Strauss wrote the work as a statement of mourning for Germany's destruction during the war, in particular as an elegy for devastating bombing of Munich during the second World War.

If someone from out of town asks a local Pittsburgher where they could find a good place to eat, they would more than likely be pointed in the Strip’s direction. The Strip district is home to a wide variety of culinary options, from very authentic Pittsburgh food and restaurants like Primanti Bros. and DeLuca’s to very upscale or diverse options like Eleven or Sushi Kim. No matter what your taste of food is there is an option for you in the Strip District. Even if cooking your own food is what you prefer, there are a number of local produce and meat distributers in the district. With such a wide variety of restaurants having their homes here for decades and new ones making their place and success in the Strip District area, food is a big part ...
As you enter into the restaurant, you many notice Five Guys’ core objective hanging above the “Order Here” sign. Their main mission is to produce quality food that is not only very flavorful, but leaves the customer wanting to come back with a smile on their face. The Santa Fe Grill is a relatively new Mexican restaurant that was started by two former business students from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. The idea sparked after the two roommates who were both interested in pursuing entrepreneurial interests decided that a Mexican restaurant in their city would be highly successful. While taking an entrepreneur class at the University, the plan for the business began coming together. Their main focus was to create a restaurant that would feature the freshest ingredients, as well as a lively atmosphere, cutting edge advertising and marketing, plus exceptional service for customers. (Research Methods, Pg. 19) By doing so, the students hoped that they could fulfill their dreams of ownership.
On Wednesday, May 23rd, I attended the College Choir concert in the Reamer Campus Center. The choir performed a variety of songs, ranging from pieces in Latin to traditional American folksongs. Two of the pieces featured solos, and one even featured percussion instruments. Mrs. Elinore Farnum provided piano accompaniment for each of the songs, and performed beautifully. I was extremely impressed by the talented choir members and their ability to sing such a varied range of songs.

In 1982, Jim Disbrow and Scott Lowery had recently moved to Columbus, Ohio after living in Buffalo, New York and found themselves craving the authentic, Buffalo, New York-style chicken wings they’d grown to love. The problem was that they were nowhere to be found in their new city of Columbus. The two friends decided to take matters into their own hands and created their own signature sauce recipe to satisfy their craving. Jim and Scott’s signature wings began drumming p great demand and the pair opened up their first restaurant, “Buffalo Wild Wings & Weck” near the campus of The Ohio State University. The restaurant was a hit with college students and since then has developed a fanatical following across the
For this concert report I chose to go to a performance of student composers held at the Kimball Recital Hall. I chose this one because I wanted to see some of the talent that my peers have in the music realm, and also it was one of the only concerts I have been able to attend because I usually work at night. It was impressive to hear pieces composed by students. I cannot imagine creating something as complex as a musical composition, much less actually performing it, so this aspect of the concert was particularly awe-inspiring. There was a large attendance, and I think that much of the audience consisted of friends of the composers and/or performers. I went with three friends, who I convinced by telling it would be interesting to see student composers.
The Baked Potato Restaurant will be a moderately priced 75 seat fast-food restaurant located in the beautiful city of London, offering family style menu and other different baked potato menus. The Baked Potato Restaurant new to the London area and have diversification opportunities by offering new food products in the new market. As a new restaurant we face competition from the giants in the fast food industry.
It expands all the way to the ricotta and truffle egg toast in Little Italy. The shrimp dumplings, rice noodle egg rolls and Xiaolongbao crafted over in Chinatown. Going all the way over to La Villita, or Little Village to sample the chilaquiles and the Taco de Soya pollo. Then we have Polish pierogies and Cuban coffee right downtown. But, it’s not only the food that is to be tasted it’s also adventure. You need that taste to venture out to Chinatown and to explore the different parts of the unkown. That 's the taste that probably brought most of us out-of-towners here a taste for something new and different you can rarely get anywhere else.
