In act V of the play Macbeth by William Shakespeare justice was brought upon Macbeth and he was finally killed. At the end of the play, Macduff dueled Macbeth. ¨Behold where stands th’ usurper´s cursèd head. The time is free” (Shakespeare, V, viii, 65-66). Some of these people include King Duncan, Banquo, Macduff's entire family, and young Siward. However, Macbeth did not deserve to die. He was influenced by the people around him, he was not a bad person. At the beginning of the play, the three witches told Macbeth a prophecy about him. ¨All hail Macbeth, that shalt be king hereafter!” (Shakespeare, I, iii, 53). They told Macbeth that he would become king. Had it not been for this prophecy, Macbeth would not have gotten the idea that he could become king. If not for the witches, he would not have murdered Duncan and would not have become king. Another person who influenced Macbeth was Lady Macbeth. Lady Macbeth talked with Macbeth and they agreed that they would kill Duncan so Macbeth could become king. But then, after thinking about what they were going to do, Macbeth refused to go any further. “When you durst do it, then you were a man; and to be more than what you were, you would be so much more the man” (Shakespeare, I, vii, 56-57). She told Macbeth that if he were to murder Duncan, then he would be a man. But if he were to refuse, then he would be a coward and not a man at
As the war for the justified king began, Macbeth faces his deep-rooted friend, Macduff. The fact Macbeth has murdered Macduff’s family exceeds their past friendship; Macduff seeks revenge against Macbeth and begins to draw his sword. Macbeth, however, refuses to fight: “Of all men else I have avoided thee. But get thee back. My soul is too much charged with blood of thine already” (V. iix. 5-7). Shakespeare shows that the blood Macbeth has charged with came from his ambition to become king and to stay king. Macbeth willingly and consciously kills his friend’s family in order to keep the crown. Individuals, overcome by greed, will kill entire families for power. Nevertheless, with greedy ambition comes retaliation. Macduff decapitates Macbeth and Death from past vengeance proclaims the final step of
...s were the ones who told him the prophecy that he would become king. If they did not give him this information, he would not have had the idea to even kill King Duncan in the first place. Lady MacBeth only continued to convince MacBeth that murdering King Duncan to gain power was the right thing to do. She is the one who filled his head with nasty thoughts, and persuaded him to kill Duncan. The amount of pressure finally got to MacBeth, and caused him to go insane. The hallucinations prove that he has gone insane, and no person that has such a condition can be blamed for any wrongdoing. If anyone should be held responsible for MacBeth’s crimes, it should be Lady MacBeth for persuading him to vicious, and the Weird Sisters for putting the idea of him becoming king in his head.
Everyone is influenced by other people, including leaders or authority, to make the wrong decisions at some point in their lives. In the play Macbeth, Lady Macbeth is responsible for the evil doings of Macbeth. Lady Macbeth is responsible for this by using his love for her to persuade him into killing King Duncan. Because Macbeth loved and trusted his wife, he was vulnerable to her opinions and suggestions. We also know that she is responsible for these heartless things because she has so much guilt that she commits suicide. Macbeth would never have done any of those horrible things if it were not for the murder of King Duncan, which was forced on by Lady Macbeth.
...till (5.7.20-21). Macduff wanted to kill Macbeth because Macbeth had ordered the murder of Macduff’s family. The cycle of violence continued until Macbeth was on the receiving end. Macduff killed Macbeth which stopped the violence. The violence started and ended with Macbeth.
He had a family but held them second after his country and king. Macduff discovers King Duncan’s body. ‘'O horror, horror, horror! Tongue nor heart / cannot conceive nor name thee!? Most sacrilegious murder hath broke ope / the Lord's anointed temple, and stole thence / the life o' the building!’, Macduff begins to tell the surrounding people about the death of the king. Macbeth blames the guards for killing the king and Macduff decided to flee to England to join Malcom and left his family behind. Macbeth then goes to Fife to kill Macduff, but ends up killing his family and destroying his home after realizing the absence of Macduff. He expressed his pain by stating, 'all my pretty ones? All my pretty chickens and their dam / at one fell swoop?' (Act 4, Scene 4). Macduff knows he will 'feel it as a man' but not lose sight of his goal, he continued to act like a real mean. He felt the grief of not being there to protect his family, then turned it into anger and decided it was his duty to kill Macbeth and gain revenge. The audience feels sorry for Macduff, and agrees with him to get his revenge. Macduff does this by killing Macbeth.
Furthermore, we also learn about Lady Macduff’s and her kids’ death. To prove this, Macbeth says in Act 4, scene 1 that he wants to kill Macduff and his family for joining Malcolm, the protagonist adds “The castle of Macduff I will surprise, / Seize upon Fife, give to th’ edge o’ th’ sword / His wife, babes, and all unfortunate swords / That trace him in his line.” Although many might argue that Macbeth was forced to kill Duncan, which caused him to kill everyone else, the protagonist could of have refused to follow his wife’s orders and refrain from the power he wants. From the quotations used, we can now tell that Macbeth is a monster due to the murders he
In Macbeth, a dramatic tragedy by William Shakespeare, the heroic characters are rewarded, and the evil ones are punished. From her appearance in the play, Lady Macbeth is an evil woman who causes her husband's change of role. She becomes insane with guilt and kills herself, receiving her punishment in full. Malcolm, King Duncan's son, is a heroic and honorable person throughout the play. He is crowned King of Scotland in the last act, and finally gets what he deserves. Macbeth is on both sides of the fence. He wins the battle in the first scene and is granted the title of Thane of Cawdor. Macbeth lies and cheats his fellow men in the following scenes and is eventually killed in a heated battle with Macduff. He receives both his reward and his punishment in the course of the five-act play.
The witches can not be the most powerful characters in the play or the catalyst to all of Macbeth’s crimes since he has the power of his free will to decide what he does. The witches did not force him to do anything, they only influenced what he did by bringing out his “dark side” and true ambitions. “And Fortune, on his damned quarrel smiling, show’d like a rebel’s whore: But all’s too weak: for brave Macbeth—well he deserves that name—disdaining Fortune, with his brandish’d steel, which smoked with bloody execution,” (Act 1 Scene 2 Lines 16-20) The Captain says that Macbeth should have been killed in battle but he was stronger than his fate is. This means that Macbeth has no one to blame but himself for his own death, actions and crimes.
In the play Macbeth, many different major choices are brought forth to a certain character and the decision that is chosen affects the entire play. The results of these actions or decisions can be a positive or negative outcome towards the character. Does justice always prevail in the play Macbeth? If a character decides to commit a crime, will he/she be punished? If a character does a noble deed, will he/she be rewarded? As is represented in the play Macbeth, justice always prevails due to the guilty character's developing sense of remorse and/or the character receiving fair punishment. For every action there is a reaction and whatever the result is, it is meant to happen and it is just.
Macbeth did not have to kill all of the innocent people he had murdered. Instead, he could have turned himself in and said he killed the king. Like most people he didn’t want to die, so he decided to keep this as a secret and tried to live life as best as he could. In order for this to stay a secret he needed to murder a few people. He first had murderers go out and kill Banquo and Fleance. The murderers were able to kill Banquo, but Fleance escaped. Macbeth felt better that Banquo was dead since Banquo knew about the witches rules in order for Macbeth to become king. Therefore, Banquo would assume that Macbeth murdered the king. Now, there would be no assumption from Banquo that Macbeth killed Duncan. Macbeth wanted Fleance to be dead, since the witches said that Banquo’s sons will become the next kings after Macbeth, but Macbeth wanted his family to be the royal family forever. The next person that gets murdered by Macbeth is: Macduff’s family. Macbeth had people hired to kill Macduff’s family. This led Macduff and ten thousand soldiers from England to defeat Macbeth and ultimately kill the villain. All of the murders and the stress that people had to go through because of Macbeth made him a
Macbeth by William Shakespeare is a play about a man named Macbeth who, when tempted by prophecy, murders the king to take his crown. Macbeth then drives himself mad trying to wipe the blood from his hands. Among the madness Macbeth seeks solace from the witches who told him to beware Macduff. Shakespeare includes the Macduff Massacre scene rather than just having another character break the news to him to show how brutal Macbeth really

Macbeth was wanted dead after others realized what he had done. He ended up fighting till his death against Macduff. Before Macbeth was killed, he said, “Lay on, Macduff; and damned be him that first cries “Hold, enough!” (V, viii, 33).” If Macbeth never committed the murders he wouldn’t have been killed.
Macduff may have killed Macbeth in technical terms but in actuality, it is nature that truly killed him. He died in desperation of trying to secure his fate and win against nature but he has reached his limits. Nature can be the only winner and as seen with Macbeth’s ultimate fate, anyone who violates it would be led to the punishment of death. The humankind is too small to deal with such a greater bei
