The Pursuit of Happiness/Enlightenment
In this book, “Siddhartha” written by Herman Hesse, Siddhartha, the main character basically lives his life and decides to go on a journey in pursuit of happiness/enlightenment because he knows he wouldn't be happy if he stayed in his fathers village all his life. But before he can reach his goal he must first live life and go through many of life´s daily struggles, life has to offer before realizing what he is seeking comes from within and cannot simply be found because it is with you already. It is not quite as easy as it sounds, Siddhartha has to go through many conflicts within this book including addiction and love. Then he does business for a while learns about love and starts to get tired of the constant cycle of business and gambling so leaves to die or find a better life somewhere else. When he was about to commit suicide and let himself fall right off the cliff into the dangerous river filled with dangerous animals he suddenly hears the sound ommmmm like i talked about earlier and all is well then he falls asleep for about one hundred years and wakes up feeling fresh and renewed. When he wakes up he finds Govinda sitting next to him and when he wakes up Govinda( his best friend) He doesn't even recognize siddhartha until Siddhartha says his name. Then they find out what's new and what not then take off and siddhartha goes to get a job with the ferryman. After that siddhartha gets rich buys a house masters love and becomes a pro gambler. He then goes into a continuous cycle of sex, over eating, gambling, and cold hearted business
