Better habits then form by doing repetitive tasks. The nurse then has to freeze the behaviors and habits of the patient which makes it harder for them to go back to their old ones. Because the patient smoked for 24 years, he was unable to quit even though he tried. His routine settled in in such a way that the patient was forced to smoke as a habit. Introduction Cultural Competency is fundamentally linked to the principles of social justice and human rights because it provides the nurses with the opportunity to develop interpersonal skills to provide equal care despite one’s cultural background. However, using the principles of social justice and human rights to educate nurses allows them to learn how to negotiate cultural differences. Their study showed that the perceived level of cultural awareness and skills among the nurses provided was low. Awareness and knowledge levels increased with higher education. It was highly recommended that self-awareness exercises be incorporated into the nursing course and continued to be addressed during the remaining curriculum until
