A. Orwell wrote Animal Farm as an allegory because it spoke about political issues. it spoke the evils about the Russian Revolution. The farm represents Russia under the Czar. The Animal Farm represented Russia under the Ussr. The animals didn't just represent animals but in fact, represented people and different groups. Snowball represented Trotsky and Napoleon represented Stalin. The sheep represented the people as a whole just following orders. Lastly, the boxer represented the usual worker. The negative feeling towards Communism were the main feeling behind the story. This represented Totalitarianism as well. The book was was written in a time when the USSr was at large with power. It was around 1949. At this time they used war to make believe that communism was a good thing.
B. This story explains how Communism is not a good this. I believe the main intention of this story was to state that it wouldn't end well if it continued. Some of the rhetorical components of this story are the events represented negatively of the story and the pigs. This story is persuading that you can not have a leader that leads blindly. The people had given their leader all of the trust and believed the system was right. If this continued it wouldn't end well.

The use of an allegory as a rhetorical device is different from the usage of a non-fictional account for many different reasons. It is very difficult to try and persuade a group of follower to see the negative effects of communism. When it comes to speaking about history it does tend to get a little complicated. The USSR had a very complicated history to talk about. People would either not understand, get bored or not care to hear about it. the story Animal Farm keeps it interesting. This story did show another side that showed a very corrupt side of leadership. It explained the history of the USSR in a way that was simple to understand. It showed different sides of a broken system and corruption from the
government. D.I seem to believe that the book Animal Farm was a success. It has been a very well known books for years. Most people tend to refer to it aa a famous allegorical Anti- Communism books. A famous quote that had been quoted time after time is the quote " All Animals are equal but some are more equal than others". That specific quote has began arguments time after time for Anti-communism. I believe that this poem represents the negative consequences on someone not speaking up against any type of injustice. Niemoller mostly talks about how he never spoke up during a time when speaking up was a must. Any person that would've spoken up against injustice with Niemoller was gone by the time they came for him. It shows how in the book after every injustice the animals refused to stand up against what they believed in to Napoleon and the dogs. The animal farm was the place where they finally decided to take a stand and fight to overthrow them. Their failure to speak up had a negative outcome for Snowball and Boxer. They didn't have many people to stand with them against evil that was Napoleon. Once you don't stand for what is wrong or right like in the story when they come for you, you basically will be standing alone. The stories attempt to deliver the message in a similar way.
Firstly, perhaps no book has linked animals to human counterparts better than Animal Farm. Orwell's beasts serve as a representation of important characters of the World War II era and beyond. For example, Karl Marx, the inventor of the communist movement, was represented by Old Major, the most important animal on the farm until his death. Much like Old Major, Marx was a visionary who dreamed of equality. Old Major states:"Is it not crystal clear, then, comrades, that all the evils of this life of ours spring from the tyranny of human beings? Only get rid of Man, and the produce of our labour would be our own. Almost overnight we could become rich and free. What then must we do? Why, work night and day, body and soul, for the overthrow of the human race! That is my message to you, comrades: Rebellion!"(Orwell, Animal Farm, 30). In addition, he inspired the Russian Social Democratic Leader Party, led by rivals Joseph Stalin and Leon Trostky. Napoleon is represented by Joseph Stalin and much like him, he builds loyalties within the communist party ( pigs and dogs) so that he can overthrow Snowball (Trostky). Snowball displaying similar traits with Trotsky in the fact that they both fight bravely in their respective battles. Trotsky was an important component to the victory in the Russian civil war, Snowball displaying this bravery during the battle of the cowshed. The hens, geese, and sheep that are executed are a representation of the millions who opposed Stalin's, and who are killed banished as a result. The hens and geese are not known for their docile natures, and serve as perfect rebels . As well, the pigs' metamorphosis of their face and behaviour is symbolic of the transition of a government initially for the people, into ...
The novel describes much of the procedure of running a communist state. It includes the organization of committees, and the indoctrination of the public in the form of the sheep. Snowball, one of the two pigs who leads the animals after the revolution, teaches the sheep to repeat the maxim "Four legs good, two legs bad," which, he feels, sums up the laws of their new system - completely against humans. Methods of propaganda are also explored. Carrier pigeons are sent to neighboring farms to deliver heroic tales of the revolution and convert other farms to 'Animalism' - the domino effect in action. Internal propaganda is the responsibility of a pig named Squealer, whose primary function is to convince the animals that the actions taken by the pigs are for their own good. This is a clear description of how to keep a communist regime in power: as long as the pubic is convinced that all actions are for their own good, they will go along with anything.
Animal Farm by George Orwell is a novel based on the lives of a society of animals living on the Manor Farm. Although the title of the book suggests the book is merely about animals, the story is a much more in depth analysis of the workings of society in Communist Russia. The animals are used as puppets to illustrate how the communist class system operated and how Russian citizens responded to this. And also how propaganda was used by early Russian leaders such as Stalin, and the effort this type of leadership had on the behavior of the people of Russia.
George Orwell’s novel Animal Farm is a great example of allegory and political satire. The novel was written to criticize totalitarian regimes and particularly Stalin's corrupt rule in Russia. In the first chapter, Orwell gives his reasons for writing the story and what he hopes it will accomplish. It also gives reference to the farm and how it relates to the conflicts of the Russian revolution. The characters, settings, and the plot were written to describe the social upheaval during that period of time and also to prove that the good nature of true communism can be turned into something atrocious by an idea as simple as greed.
Most directly one would say that Animal Farm is an allegory of Stalinism, growing out from the Russian Revolution in 1917. Because it is cast as an animal fable it gives the reader/viewer, some distance from the specific political events. The use of the fable form helps one to examine the certain elements of human nature which can produce a Stalin and enable him to seize power. Orwell, does however, set his fable in familiar events of current history.

It is better to be free and starving, than to be fed and enslaved.
As a result, if the pigs are not allowed to do what they want, then Animal Farm will not prosper or function well. The effectiveness of propaganda is evident through the rise of a despotic and tyrannical government in Animal Farm. Used as a successful, manipulative tool in the story, Animal Farm depicts the dangers of propaganda to an ignorant and gullible society. Orwell’s story describes the actions that brought about the eventual collapse of an ideal utopian society.

Everything in Animal Farm is used to represent people and events that took place during the Russian revolution from 1917-1939. Animal Farm by George Orwell is an allegorical novella that portrays Orwell’s views on the Soviet Union through farm animals. An allegory is a story that uses fictitious characters, settings, and events that allude to a hidden meaning. The characters and the actions of the characters in Animal Farm represent the leaders and actions of the Soviet Union. For example, Napoleon, a power-hungry pig who uses violence to get what he wants, represents Joseph Stalin. One way that Napoleon and Stalin are similar is that they both turn against those who are on their sides.
Throughout Animal Farm there are many examples of propaganda. The pigs, such as Napoleon and Squealer used different propaganda tactics to appease the animals. Unbeknownst to the animals they were being tricked into working like slaves. In a democracy such as Animal Farm the animals should have had a say in what goes on. Since, the animals were unable to learn they were not able to think for themselves and come up with good solutions. When the animals were unable to think, learn and read they fell for the pigs tricks and were not able to see what was really going on.

In the literary criticism written by William S. Brockington Jr., Brockington discusses the importance of understanding the environment in which George Orwell wrote Animal Farm. It was a turbulent time period after the end of World War I, the Great Depression, and World War II. Animal Farm acted as an allegory of the Soviet Union and the animals of the story have a counterpart in history. Although the story is rooted in history, it still has a universal message.
