On the above date and time Ofc. Tactuk and I responded to 5908 Sun-Glow Ave, reference a domestic. Dispatch advised me that a male called 911 advising that his girlfriend was stabbing him with a screwdriver. Upon arrival, I made contact with the White male complainant/ defendant, later identified as Dudley Linsey Smith. Smith advised me that he was in a verbal argument when his girlfriend, Donna Caskey Harnesk, physically attacked and stabbed him with a screwdriver. However, Smith was unable to show me where he was stabbed, or any other injuries consistent with him being stabbed. Smith then changed his statement of what occurred. Smith now stated that that Donna only raised the screwdriver in his direction in an attempt to attack him. I then made contact with Smith's girlfriend, identified as Donna Caskey Harnesk. Harnesk confirmed that her and Smith had a verbal argument over him playing loud music in the residence, and her refusal to have sex with him on this day. Harnesk stated "I asked Joe to turn the music down, that's when he ran out of the house and slammed the front door closed, he's been drinking beer all day." Harnesk stated that the screen door fell off of it's hinges as a result of Smith slamming the front door. …show more content…
Harnesk advised that smith returned to the residence shortly after as she was trying to fix the screen door with a screwdriver.
Harnesk stated "I was using the screwdriver to fix the screen door, that's when Joe told me he would call the cops and have me
arrested." Harnesk adamantly denied Smith's accusation that she stabbed or threatened Smith with the screwdriver Smith stated " I'm 80 years old, he would have killed me with the screwdriver. Harnesk provided a statement form. Smith was asked, but refused to provide a written statement. Smith was present and heard Harnesk statement and denial of what occurred. Smith then advised me that he lied to me because he was upset with Harnesk. Smith was placed under arrest and read his Miranda rights by my agency issued card. Post Miranda, Smith continued to state that Harnesk did not attack him and that he lied to me. Smith was transported to central booking for processing without incident. A copy of the 911 recording was obtained and later entered into evidence at the Port Richey Police Department. (Attachments/ 1 statement form/ 1 property receipt) Officer J. Cox 9011.

Nicole stated that she was trying to eat some food in the kitchen when Brandon entered and started yelling at her. Brandon then grabbed the fork out of Nicole's right hand and proceeded to stab her in the left fore arm. Following Brandon stabbing her and in order for her to get him off of her, Nicole grabbed a kitchen knife and scraped Brandon's head just next to his left temple. Michael Clodfelter, who was asleep in the bedroom, then came out and started pushing Brandon to keep him away from Nicole. Nicole went and sat in the bedroom to wait for my arrival.
On May 7th 2000, fifteen year old Brenton Butler was accused of the murder of Mary Ann Stephens, who had been fatally shot in the head while walking down a breezeway of a hotel with her husband. Two and a half hours later, Butler is seen walking a mile away from where the incident occurred, and is picked up by the police because he fit the description of the individual who shot Mary Ann Stephens. However, the only characteristic of the description that Butler featured was the color of his skin. Police then brought Butler to the scene of the crime in order for Mary Ann Stephens’s husband, James Stephens, to confirm whether or not Butler was the individual who had shot his wife. Almost immediately, Stephens identifies Butler as his wife’s killer.
In this position paper I have chosen Bloodsworth v. State ~ 76 Md.App. 23, 543 A.2d 382 case to discuss on whether or not the forensic evidence that was submitted for this case should have been admissible or not. To understand whether or not the evidence should be admissible or not we first have to know what the case is about.

A young mother had been dating her boyfriend for a few years before they had a child together. Domestic violence was a standard in their relationship. The mother began to become tired of the fighting, arguing, and accusations. One day, the mother was cooking dinner with her child on her hip. The father had come home and began arguing with her about something trivial. He grabbed the mother’s hair and began hitting her head again the cabinet. The mother reached for a knife and stabbed her boyfriend. Unbeknownst to the mother, at the time, she had cut her child too. When I first received the case, I could not believe that the mother would put her child in danger as she did. It was shocking to me that she thought to pick up the knife and stab someone

In life, our journey does not always happen the way in which we anticipated it to happen. For me that was truer than ever during these last six months. Part of the unforeseen process was changing where I was conducting my internship obligations at. I officially started working as a business intern at the Phoenixville Area Community Services (PACS) on Wednesday, January 20th after meeting and talking through a quasi-interview process with Executive Director Ms. Carol Berger in early January. As the name implies, PACS is located in Phoenixville, just west of the Schuylkill River on Church Street. I was able to acquire this internship with the help and support of my wonderful Mom, who collaboratively works with Carol (an MSW herself) to place Social Work students from Eastern into internships at PACS.
