“Any activity that involves going through the hair and over the skin with the hands, lip, tongue, teeth, or tail to clean out extraneous objects such as dirt, particles of sweat-salt, external parasites, or other surface materials is considered grooming”(Simonds 169). Grooming is very important for hygiene. Although many are able to groom themselves they are dependent upon each other because there will always be spots that cannot be seen. Overall, clothes acts as a mirror of the person’s behavior. Clean, ironed good clothes shows a clean image of a person. Clothes change the behavior and make us act like what we wear. Expensive clothes gives feel of a rich guy, it makes us feel like a professional person. When people wore an expensive dress, they behave very elegantly and feel very rich in those clothes which changes their attitude and the way they talk. Clothes also keep an impression on the other persons. If a person wears old, dirty and worn out clothes it gives negative impression on the other hand wearing clean, ironed and good clothes possess a positive impression of that person especially during job interviews.
Many people have different feelings about cleaning. I need my area to be clean to be able to focus, so I like to clean unless I am told to clean. Cleaning makes me feel peaceful and keeps my head on straight and helps me feel more in charge. Some people don’t like to clean and that is alright. When it comes to cleaning, it’s really about whatever makes the person feel good; but every adult needs to be able to clean up after himself or herself and those he or she provides for.

Respect for yourself is very important to a person because it can be the balancing factor of your life. If a person has no respect for themselves the will most likely go into depression. Respecting yourself is also important for your self-esteem. Having a high self-esteem means that people might laugh at you, make fun of you, and yet you don’t get angry or upset because you know you are better than what they say you are. You must be able to hold your head high and be proud of what you do. Respecting yourself also means taking care of your body. It can be the simple things such as brushing your teeth, washing your hands, and exercising. There are many other factors that might fall into the respecting yourself category, but respecting others is important as well.

Some people pick up on it rather quick, whether it be because someone has told them they’re disgusting, or they see it through their own eyes. Then there are those people that will never notice their filth, and unfortunately not everyone learns to clean up after themselves. Living on campus at Spartanburg Methodist with three other girls my age has made me realize that not everyone was taught to clean up after themselves the way my mother taught me. The first incident that led me to this conclusion was on a weeknight, after a long hard day of workouts, class, and practice I was sitting in the bathroom, I look down to my right—there was no toilet paper. What kind of person doesn’t put toilet paper back on the roll after they use it all?! As if being stranded in the bathroom wasn’t enough I walked out into the living room and a stench of onion almost knocks me down. I look around and someone left their sub wrapper on the living room table. When confronted about leaving a mess in the room each person claimed to understand how it’s not acceptable to leave their stuff thrown throughout the dorm, yet it continued to happen. As I have grown up I now realize that every time my mother would yell at me for leaving food out, not changing the toilet paper roll, leaving a wet towel on my bed, etc., she was preparing me for life on my own. My mother was teaching me how to pick up after myself because one day she wouldn’t be there to wash my laundry or tell me what time to go to bed. All the times that I thought my mom was the bossiest mom in the world and a nag, I was wrong, she was teaching me responsibility at a young

Each staff member of the restaurant should have nice and clean hygiene along with good manners. Having good hygiene is very important whether an employee is waiting tables, washing dishes, or cooking. If an employee does not shower friction will start to grow between the staff and no one would like to work or even be around that employee. Working in the food service industry with overgrown nails or dirty nails is against the health code and could contaminate the food being prepared by the employee. Being around a customer with bad hygiene could possibly hinder the customer from having a memorable time at the restaurant. Having good manners is also mandatory for every staff member so that no problems can surface between the staff and customers. Steve Marchetti explained that each employee are to meet the minimal standards set forth in the employee handbook and also deliver on the company?s commitment to their customers (Marchetti). A restaurants commitment...
