I wanted to apologize to SSgt Pedregon, Colonel Wehunt and other members that I cause this inconvenience by showing poor judgement on my behalf. I will take fully responsibility for my actions and understand the importance of the offense I had committed as sexual harassment towards SSgt Pedregon. My intentions was never to offend SSgt Pedregon or to cross the line of unprofessional relationship. During the squadron’s holiday party on December 12, 2016. SSgt Pedregon, TSgt Sparrow, TSgt Stewart, Mrs. Combs, and I worked on the set up for the party. After the party was over in the HSC hanger SSgt Pedregon offer my wife Esmeralda that she will take me home since we had to start the clean-up and my wife had to work. My wife Esmeralda said “No
First, I apologize for putting you in this position. I'm hopeful that this email may give some peace to you. I've realized that so very little of my behaviour in my life has been for others. As an addict, I was self-centred to the extreme. Realizing this, I am trying to take any opportunity I can to live in truth and to think of other's first.
Well known transcendentalist and writer, Ralph Waldo Emerson, in his poem The Apology, describes his unapologetic nature towards the people misunderstanding his passion and beliefs, as well as his feelings toward the existence of a God. Emerson was born on May 25th, 1803. Ralph Waldo Emerson graduated from Harvard University in 1821. He became a transcendentalist in 1823, these beliefs being what inspired most of his works. Emerson became a licensed and ordained minister by the year 1829. Emerson married Ellen Tucker in 1829 as well. When she died of tuberculosis in 1831, he fell into a state of depression. Her death, added to his own recent crisis of faith, caused him to resign from the church. In 1833 he began to lecture
Many people have gone through their lives conforming their beliefs and practices for the sake of fitting in or for the happiness of others, but Socrates was not one of these people. In “The Apology” Plato shows Socrates unwillingness to conform through a speech given by Socrates while on trial for supposedly corrupting the youth of Athens and believing in false gods. Although the title of the dialogue was labeled “The Apology,” Socrates’ speech was anything but that, it was a defense of himself and his content along his philosophical journey. At no time during the trial was Socrates willing to change his ways in order to avoid punishment, two reasons being his loyalty to his God and his philosophical way of life.
The main argument in The Apology by famous ancient Greek philosopher Plato is whether, notorious speaker and philosopher Socrates is corrupting the youth by preaching ungodly theories and teaching them unlawful ideas that do harm to individuals and society. In his words Socrates quoted the prosecution’s accusation against him: “Socrates is guilty of corrupting the minds of the young, and of believing in supernatural things of his own invention instead of the gods recognized by the state.” 1 Further Socrates consistently introduces tediously compiled number of examples to provide valid and sound arguments to prove that he is innocent of the charges brought up against him to the court.
The author of “The Apology,” Benjamin Jowett, supports his ideas of Socrates by explaining the judgmental views that were made towards Socrates. Socrates is forced to face the jury of Athens due to his gadfly role on the streets on Athens. The citizens of Athens were willing to tolerate persons who could give persuasive speeches and make great shows of rhetoric, but they had no room for Socrates, who was questioning and investigations threatened to undermine a public culture of conformity to traditional authority. Eventually, the practice of philosophy cost Socrates his life. “I would have you know, if you kill such a one as I am, you will injure yourselves more than you will injure me,” Socrates states. Socrates thought that no good man could be harmed; as long as you are doing good then harm cannot affect you. Socrates was told he was the smartest man in Athens, which motivated him to go on the streets to prove he was not. The author proves this point by stating what Socrates says to the jury, “Here is a man who is wiser than I am but you said that I was the wisest.” Socrates went...
As our forefathers before us stated, ‘‘No one is more professional than I. I am a Noncommissioned Officer, a leader of soldiers. As a Noncommissioned Officer, I realize that I am a member of a time honored corps, which is known as “The Backbone of the Army (“The NCO Creed written by SFC Earle Brigham and Jimmie Jakes Sr”). These words to the Noncommissioned Officer should inspire us to the fullest with pride, honor, and integrity. The NCO creed should mean much more than just words whenever we attend an NCO’s school.
The point I’m trying to get out of this is disrespect in the military is a big thing, especially dealing or being disrespectful to a Non Commissioned Officer. Disrespect doesn’t only have to be with Non Commissioned Officers, it can be with Commissioned Officers, Warrant Officers, and Senior Non Commissioned Officers such as (Sergeant First Class, Master Sergeants, Sergeant Majors, and sometimes seasoned Staff Sergeants). It can also be to your peers alike. Treat people how you would like to be treated. As my momma always said “If you don’t got nothing good to say then don’t say anything at
Please accept my personal regards and deepest sympathy on the loss of your son, Specialist Patrick E. Boss, an American Soldier, and an outstanding team member. During his time in the military, he made several friends that are striking with sadness by this tragedy. This event has left a father without a son, and many soldiers without a team member. Words will never be able to explain the way I feel, or the pain that you must feel after the tremendous loss.
I want to thank you for all your had work and motivation you have brought to our team. Thanks for helping our membership during the military affairs events. You are wonderful addition to the Addison MD&P team. I appreciate all your assistance and help transitioning into my new role.
A. Under trial for corrupting youth and not worshiping the Gods in Athens, Socrates takes an attitude that many might interpret as pompous during his trial. Rather than apologise, as Plato’s dialogue title Apology suggests, Socrates explains why he is right and those who accused him are mistaken. He speaks in a plain manner, as if the jury is just another of his followers. Socrates first cites the profit at Delphi for why he behaves in ways that lead to him being under scrutiny of the law. He explains that his friend, Chaerephon, went to ask the oracle if anyone is wiser than Socrates and the oracle responded no (21a). Socrates then explains his interpretation of this being that he is wise in knowing that he does not know certain things, where
It is nearly impossible to find the words to say to you how much we regret the loss of your mother, SSG Stephanie W. Plank. The whole unit joins me in conveying our deepest compassions and understanding during this period of mourning.
I hope you and uncle Jim are doing well and are in good health. I write this letter to inform you that I will be joining the Union Army. Things here in Maryland are chaotic since the Martial law took place, many people are angry and feel there is no need for the President to call for martial law, but I absolutely understand where he is coming from, desperate times call for desperate measures. He is thinking strategically, if, for some reason, Maryland decides to secede, the District of Columbia would be surrounded by Confederate states which would make it an easy territory to take control of. This situation is frightening and as you know, I am not fond of situations where I feel useless and helpless, thus, I made the decision to stand up for
Thanks again Mr. Seipp for the time you spent with today out of your busy schedule and for all the support you provided.
My name is Jeffrey Magloire and I am a current matriculating student at Sullivan County Community College I have a couple of issues that I wanted to bring forward to your attention. As you may or may not know Sullivan County Community College has just constructed a new dormitory for incoming students. This Dormitory has opened up doors to many students that could not handle the commute to and from school. Although the dormitory has been an advantage to students traveling; the students have been living in poor condition for the last five weeks. The first problem occurred the day we walked in. The students were put into rooms where the paint smell was still resident and was the cause of two asthma attacks. We still have not received camera’s which would have been no problem if they had more than two security guards for each shift in our 350 capacity student dorm. I have read the contract that was handed to me and the dormitory has violated many promises made on that contract. The first violation has made many students drop out of school and go home and miss one semester of school. The Dormitory Corporation promised us daily maintenance on all of our bathrooms but the maintenance workers come only three times a week which has raised hazardous fumes coming from the bathroom and also the bathroom utensils are not available to students frequently which has deferred the students from having proper hygiene. The roof fire alarm has not been turned off due to the shortness of security officers and the alarm goes off every night due to loitering. They also promised that we will have telephone service which has not been honored and most of students have no way of contacting their friends and family. The School has one phone line and that one phone line is occupied by resident assistant, resident managers, security and is also the phone that security uses to contact the fire department in case of emergency.
